Cafe On A

I love café on a. Art galleries, open mics, zumba in the evening. A lot of fun events take place here. It’s literally a safe haven for artists. Updates on events is on their facebook page.

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. It’s a gem of a place that serves as a «focal point of educational, artistic, and multicultural expression within the city of Oxnard.» I’ve only been here a few times, but have been impressed by the owner and atmosphere every time. If you’re looking for a good place to hang out, explore local art, or find out what’s going on in the community, stop in here ever once in a while. It deserves all the business and support we can give it!

Café on A was always somewhat mysterious. Rarely did I catch this place with open doors to peek inside and discover what it was all about until recently.
Its an interesting place, the alleyway that leads to side entrance is quite beautiful, a colorful depiction of life mixed with lively potted plants. Like it was stated, this place isn’t really a coffee house, it hosts regular cultural events and art exhibitions. What is exhibited changes often, artists from around the area and far exhibit their work in this space. Much of the art is for sale. It is worth stopping by once in a while to check out the events that will be hosted there.
This place also doubles as a community center. I work for a tutoring company and we needed a central spot to host tutoring for a large group of students from Oxnard. This place popped into mind, I decided to get in contact with the person that runs it. They were both very receptive and reasonable about using the space. Very respectful and helpful with everything. Our tutoring classes ran smoothly for the students and I think they appreciated being in a different atmosphere that was much more lively and intriguing.
Good spot to check out if you are looking to buying an art piece, looking for some cultural events or need a space for a small event.

Not really too much of a coffee house. It’s a community center and art exhibit house. We go there week nights for Zumba Dance. Great exercise! They have a tutoring class for school kids before our class. After our class might be the Democratic Club sometimes. Nice couple run the place.
