We enjoy the food but the customer service definitely needs work! We like to come but every time we have to reconsider because of the wait and there is no good customer service. We waited for over a hour for our food, when we approached the manager, she just had excuses.

I was excited to try some place new since the place had good reviews and when I got there it looked nice; however the waiter/buser gave off a bad vibe seeming unfriendly(quick to leave, didn’t give us a chance to ask questions, very brief) I thought about leaving right after sitting, but we were meeting friends there. All the food we had ordered, French toast, Denver omelette, biscuits and gravy, and eggs benedict were ok. The eggs benedict being the worst, the egg was poached too long, the ham was fatty and too thick and the hollandaise sauce was bland. My husband’s coffee cup had lipstick still on it. All in all I would not recommended this place nor would I revisit for a second chance

We have been to this restaurant approximately 3 times. We went on Sunday and it was busy, but not that busy. The chilaquiles and chile verde are both good. Our waffle was not crunchy. The French toast was ok. Our server was another story. I think her name was Araceli. She had an attitude from the start. She seemed irritated even from the ordering process. We pulled over extra chairs Half way through our meal because we had 1 – 2 friends stopping by. We were pretty much scolded for doing that. We asked to place an order to go during our meal so it would be ready when we were done. We were told that it would take kind of a long time because they had a lot of orders.(With attitude) then when the order was done, she brought it on a plate like we were going to eat it there after having a full breakfast. Not very friendly or accommodating. The RBF(resting b**** face) didn’t help either. Not sure if we will come back.

Great food! Best French toast! Buuuuuy bad service. Lady in front needs to retire and hire more people! Waitress didn’t bother to see how food was or if we needed anything else. At this time, I wouldn’t go back.

Okay so I don’t know what the problem was with this people. The service was just big time rude! So rude, the front old lady at the register made us wait like 20 mins or more for a table when it was empty? What was that? Than the waitress took our order with attitude and when she brought it out that was it never came back to check on us. Food was okay but that’s it; than when we went up to Register to pay I was just standing there waiting for 14 mins for them to take my money/what the heck, don’t you want me to pay? I don’t know. Food is only as good as the service.

I came to eat breakfast and the place was at 10 percent capacity and I requested if I could sit near a TV and the old lady grunted as if my request was to much to ask for. Horrible customer service. I’ve been there once before and the food was mediocre at best I just thought I’d go by again because Henry’s burnt down and this place was the most convenient. But never would I recommend or suggest anyone would ever support a place that has rude service. I’ve spoken to other people and they’ve stated the same thing has happen They need someone to run the front cause the old lady is losing business because of her bad attitude. I’m one to support local businesses but not this place. I highly recommend to stay away.

I was very excited to try this place. It’s very spacious and in a nice location. Well that’s about all the nice things I have to say… oh wait, they have vanilla creamer for your coffee and fresh orange juice. They’re food is not great, it’s just okay. Their customer service SUCKS! The elder lady took our order after like 30 minutes of sitting there. The place wasn’t even busy. I understand we have our days but it looked like she’s like that everyday. Hope that’s not the case. So, with that said, I won’t be back

This place is so good. When you first walk in you are surprised, it’s super cute on the inside. I was greeted right away and didn’t wait no longer than 5 minutes to be seated. The coffee wasn’t so good but the food was !! I ordered the Tomas French toast, topped with fruit and whipped cream with a side of eggs, sausage and hash browns. Yeah I was really hungry. OMG !! I’m an IHOP fan but this little café makes IHOP breakfast Taste like plastic. This was seriously the best French toast and sausage I’ve ever tasted and the portions were huge. The service was also very good, they kept checking up on us making sure everything was okay. I will definitely be a regular going forward, best breakfast café In oxnard.

Authentic Mexican restaurant with really great breakfast options. I wish I would’ve tried the green chilaquiles but luckily I snagged a couple bites. I ordered the breakfast burrito that was fully loaded with rice, beans, cheese, potato, bacon and eggs. Soo good! I always judge Mexican restaurants by their beans because that’s how I can tell if the food is similar to my abuelita. Tomas’s is as home style comfort food as it gets. I just wish they weren’t so far from the Bay Area ;p

I love Tomas Café! I’ve taken many family members to try this place because I love it so much. I’ve had a couple of their breakfast dishes and have no complaints. The place is always clean and the staff is friendly and the food is great. It’s a awesome little place in downtown Oxnard that is hidden away from the crowd especially on the weekend. Give this wonderful place a try.

I wanted to try a new café but food here was just as good as bgs down the street. it would have tasted better if our waitress played the part for her job. the waitress rolled her eyes at me when I said I still wanted the cinnamon roll, AFTER she failed to tell us that they were still cooking… and AFTER she just asked us if we wanted it before or after our food. .we actually wanted it before. With the clear view of the kitchen from our table it looked as if she was too preoccupied to let us know ANYTHING if that.haha. there was like 2 people in the restaurant. no biggie tho I’m just one less customer, and you still got all that attitude. expect what you put in, or don’t work in customer service ! 3 stars for the food !

I was just rudely reminded why I shouldn’t come to Tomas restaurant… We were waiting to be seated when my friend Carmen called us over to say hi. When we returned the owner lady told us we shouldn’t come in through the side door. I advised her that we didn’t do that, we had come in through the front. Long story short, I told her she should either lock the door or put up a sign. She told me, I had a sign but they took it down for the Christmas decorations. Really? It’s July, put up another sign! I didn’t even use that door!!!

With all the good reviews, my expectations were high, and, after spending a night at the worst motel ever and thinking the DEA was going to come through the door at any moment, I took it as a celebration of life to get a breakfast that would effectively shorten it but would provide short term pleasure, aka sugar. I ordered the Nutella French Toast and it was more of a whipped cream French toast, good taste, but not sweet enough a dog not enough Nutella. They also put a lot of whipped cream on the hot toast so it became milky quickly, ruining the great texture the toast could have had. The good: tons of nuts and good size, although the nits weren’t well toasted. Service was excellent a dog, as I was writing this review they filled up my coffee a third time, not good enough to add another star, but I thought about it. The food came very fast and the price was not too bad at $ 13.44 before tip. I would probably come back to try the cinnamon rolls, but given that there a absolutely no reason to ever come to Oxnard, I doubt it. The atmosphere, artwork and lighting give each the place a great cozy modern feel, which I really appreciated after my drug trafficker motel. I gave them a good tip because they did everything right and I’m sure other things on the menu are good, but my French toast didn’t cut it. My black coffee was good and I got a lot of it, so I was happy about the amount of caffeine and the calories per dollar ratio of my breakfast. Overall, nice place a dog fair food.

Today my boss treated me to a birthday lunch @Tomas Café. I’ve always heard about this hidden gem located in downtown Oxnard… But being that it is kind of away from the freeway and deep in the city, I never really found myself in this area. but today was my lucky day! From the outside, the building looks like an old pueblo, which goes with the culture and vibe once your inside the restaurant. The décor is pretty warm and inviting. To the left of the main restaurant, they have a huge banquet room, so if you are planning a small party check this place out. The main restaurant area is pretty average sized so I can see how and why on weekends this place can easily get packed. They have a breakfast menu with multiple options and also a decent lunch menu that includes the common salad, sandwich and burgers. But the breakfast menu is where it’s at! What caught our eyes today was the NUTELLA French toast and REDVELVET pancakes! Yum!!! Order these as a combo plate which includes 2 eggs(any style) and either 4 pieces of sausage links or bacon. The sausage link actually taste decent. In the photo posted, the red velvet pancakes is just the half order and I was stuffed with left orders. All in all the food was delicious and reasonably priced. There’s a lot of different items to choose from and therefore anyone palate can easily be satisfied. *Only downfall from today’s visit was when I got my iced water, there was a piece of plastic in my water. I think it might have been from the ice bag? But still. Kinda gross. Other than that mishap, our visit today was fine. Note: if you have a groupon or coupon from , make sure to mention that when you order… because they need to call that coupon in order to redeem it. Support small business & give this place a try!

My friends and I went to Tomas Café last Friday. It’s in downtown Oxnard. There were some paintings on the walls just like the restaurant’s name(Tomas Café & Gallery). I ordered Downtown Chicken Omelet and coffee, my friends ordered Biscuit and Gravy, Eggs Benedict, Jesus’s Chilaquiles and orange juice. I tasted all of them and everything was good. Orange juice was fresh but coffee wasn’t my taste. They have also French toast and waffles so I would like to try them next time. ※The restaurant doesn’t have a parking but you can park on the street in front of the restaurant.

I don’t understand this restaurant’s rating at all!!! First, it’s hotter than Hades! Despite beautiful décor, they did not purchase an air conditioner that can service the space! AND they insist on leaving the door wide open to let in all the hot air. Second, it took 30 minutes for them to bring part of our order out. Third, they brought us out French toast and it was covered in actual fried egg! NOTBATTERED, EGGED! Finally, they brought us our omelette and the eggs were not cooked. It was leaking uncooked egg whites! One of the only restaurants my mother and I have actually left without eating.
