Headed over for lunch with the kiddos. Not our first time and it will not be our last either. Great place to go if you want quick authentic Japanese food. The staff is nice and the lady who takes our order always memorizes the whole order, no writing it down. She never gets the order wrong either. The California rolls are fresh, the dynamite rolls were super flavorful, and the udon soup was devoured by my son. The only thing that was meh was the edamame. They were saugy. Maybe have been sitting in water for too long? Would come back when I shop at that shopping area.

Love this place when we are in Oxnard! Although we haven’t been here in a while, the employees always know what my kids love. We are always greeted with respect. Always a pleasure.

I ordered a chicken yakisoba for take out. Their food is made to order so it took about 10 minutes for my food to come out. I noticed there were a lot of people eating here which is a good sign to me. The yakisoba had a good flavor albeit a tad on the salty side. But they do not skimp on the meat and veggies. Overall it was good but not great. I would give it a try next time I am in town.

Just moved to Oxnard and was looking for good noodle shop. Heard about them, but since I’m unfamiliar with area I checked online Health Dept. reports and found this.

It was ok. A bit expensive side for the amount and quality of sushi… 6 pieces of sushi was $ 15! I dont have anything else to write but Unilocal said my review is too short… So just making it long.

It’s okay. I had the spicy chicken, it was hot, had a tasty flavor, but there was a lot of rice. The prices where good, but is like to see more meat.

Love coming here, services is great and quick. They really get to know their customers & you get to know them too. Menu is simple, kids choices it to a child’s taste. Their prices did increase, sooner or later to happen. Business is good. It’s cozy, a get away to enjoy Japanese food without a big crowd, simple, quick and tasty.

First time there! Staying out of town and saw this place as I briefly stopped at a Starbucks. Staff was really friendly! I entered 10 minutes till close time and they still sat next down and served me with no rush and the utmost politeness! Would definitely return to try other items on the menu! Had the noodle soup! Very good! Also had the rice bowl with chicken and egg(can’t remember the name, sorry lol). Definitely recommend this place!

Although this place was PACKED when I arrived today and more people came in after me, I’m not impressed with this place at all. Ordered the shrimp tempura roll and it had zero flavor. There’s old food piled in trays right outside restrooms. Not a pretty site to see right before I eat. Older lady employee didn’t even say BOO to me when I asked her for a side of spicy mayo. However may be a language barrier in hindsight. I won’t be back as I have tons of other sushi places to try in VC.

First time here. Seems like a great little Japanese noodle and sushi place. Low cost and good quality food. Service was great. Dessert was Modichi. It’s ice cream wrapped in a soy bun DELICIOUS. Really just a great local place. No chain food here.

Was pretty good. The only reason I don’t at least give a 4 star is because when I went I was not greeted or waited on for a long time. In fact a family that came after me was tended to before me and the owner lady(I’m guessing) kept looking at me like I was thug life or something. It was so weird. Just because of the customer service part I probably won’t be back. To be fair there was another younger girl who served my dinner and she was nice.

I usually will get the chicken or beef bowl add some green onion and a small order of California rolls. This place is consistently good with the flavors and the price is right for a quick lunch.

As a frequent traveler to Oxnard I have eaten as this location numerous times. It is fairly close to the hotel we usually stay at so that makes it convenient. The inside is small with only 8 – 104 person tables. The service has always been good and friendly. The keep the place very clean regardless of what time of day we have come in. The food is pretty good but of course this is not high end Japanese food. It isn’t per say fast food but I would equate it to somewhere in the middle. The price reflects that fact so it is a good buy for what you get. I have had everything from sushi, ramen, rice, noodle bowls and yakisoba. Everything I had was good and they have never let me down. The wife really enjoys their food and always request we eat with them at least one time if we are in town. I would recommend them for lunch and or dinner as I have done both. We have eaten in and taken out and both were the same quality. If in the area give them a try. Looking forward ot the next visit when I am back in Camarillo.

A good place to go for lunch and they have a couple combo options. My experience: The udon was good — really hot and fresh tempura crumbs. The Gonzales roll was horrible. The«baked» salmon was really dry and didn’t seem fresh. It honestly tasted like day old leftover salmon that wasn’t microwaved long enough. I ended up taking the salmon off and just eating the sushi. A real waste of money on a baked roll. I beseech you to never order this roll if you actually like baked rolls. The servers are nice and it’s a quick and easy sushi place. Be careful what you order though — I would stick to things you can’t really mess up: udon, seaweed salad, California roll…

Although I only have 1 check-in on Unilocal.I have been coming to Ozeki noodle for many years now. This was 1 of the very few Japanese noodle houses in the area that my friends in college and I used to frequent. Not to much has changed, although it seems ownership has traded hands. But enough backstory lets get to the review. The parking lot is a little full most of the time particularly during lunch which is not a part of the establishments control but still effects my willingness to come in. The actual place itself is very cute. The bamboo wall paper is calming which is great when your eating a yummy soup and the chairs are comfy. The lobby is mostly clean and not cluttered with non-needed sauces on the table. The staff is very friendly and speak Japanese and English which adds a little authenticity to your experience. They are also very attentive. I don’t think I can recall a time that the staff hasn’t been super friendly and fast with requests. The lobby is a bit small which can be a problem if your trying to have a private conversation, because everyone in the dining area can hear what you’re talking about. Onto the food. My personal favorite has to be the tori with udon noodles. It’s a great broth soup with large udon noodles and yummy chicken. I like to add Tanuki(fried batter flakes) to my soup to give it some extra texture. My favorite part is the pink and white fish cakes. They take on the flavor of the broth and are very chewy. I also love the(oyoku don)? It’s basically a scrambled egg and pieces of chicken over a bowl of rice. I never have to add any sauces because everything I have ordered(including sushi) has great favor. For the non-traditional Japanese food eater, they have an assortment of bento box which has the basics(salad, rice, protein, gyoza, miso soup) and is pretty good. At times they go a little overboard with the teriyaki sauce for me, but to each there own. I do love the large portions. They comparable to the price. Lunch time seems to be a little cheaper(like most Japanese places) but it’s still not a bad deal overall. Basic notes: .Great for rainy days .quite atmosphere with attentive employees .comparable prices to portion .small dining area/very cozy to strangers. .blah parking situation(out of establishments control) . Good for traditional and non traditional Japanese cuisine eaters alike.

I have to be a hard marker about Japanese food because I’m a Japanese and this restaurant is 4 stars.(food was 3 stars and their services were 5 stars) My friends and I went there for Tuesday lunch. There were a few customers but not so busy and we could get seats easily. I miss Japanese food and there were many choices so couldn’t pick up one quickly but I ended up ordering Katsu Don(breaded pork cutlet with egg $ 9.50). It was not much as Japanese authentic Katsu Don. The pork cutlet was a little bit too well-done and personally I like sweeter taste. One of my friends ordered Chirashi Bowl(assorted chopped sashimi on the sushi rice $ 12.95). When she ordered, the waitress told her that the picture of Chirashi Bowl on the menu was very different from the real thing and that was true. it was more like salad bowl. My friend said it was good but it was different from what we Japanese think as Chiarashi Bowl.(I recommend the owner to change the picture) I heard that previous owner was Japanese but current owner is Korean. Although they take on the recipe of Japanese owner, I felt somehow Korean arrange. There were some Japanese waitresses and they were very nice and friendly. ※There is shared parking in front of the restaurant.

TL: DR– Simple, good-quality japanese food. Small restaurant. Fair prices. Worth visiting if in the area and craving noodles and a don-bowl. The soba salad, udon, and beef bowl combos were pretty good. They were each very simple and clean. I think for noodle quality, they might be the best around oxnard and camarillo. The udon salad had the right balance of vegetables and tuna. I was pleased with the sauce being on the side as well. The beef was pretty good but the ginger was crucial. The rice had good consistency, a little too wet for my preference but id take that over dry rice any day. The wait was too long… we got our dishes 25 minutes after ordering. Given its dinner and the weekend, its understandable. but service speed is valuable for a small sitdown restaurant. Id probably come back on a weekday.
