I’m pretty critical of how my order gets made & of the customer service provided. That being said, please remember: this Starbucks is inside of a Von’s, which means it is smaller in size(so you might have to wait longer), it has half as many baristas working, and as a customer don’t get too pised if your product or customization isn’t available. It’s like a mini-Starbucks, so if you would like to be a coffee-snob, please visit an actual Starbuck’s location to have your coffee-shop expectations met. Claryssa, Monique, & Vicky are the best in terms of friendliness and doing their drink-making job, even better than baristas at regular Starbucks coffee shops, which is why I prefer this location over some of the actual shops here in Ventura County, real talk.

The people working here are super nice, always polite and sweet. My coffee however… Very inconsistent. I stopped trying all together because a few of my coffees have been so terrible I have had to throw them away. I get an iced vanilla Americano. All it is: espresso, vanilla syrup, water, ice. At times it has been bitter, sour, disgusting. Not sure if they don’t clean their machine properly or if the coffee is just old but it tastes like garbage. They shouldn’t even be able to call themselves Starbucks.

starbucks in vons are always tricky. you have to have good timing in order to get good quality and service at this specific location. i’ve come multiple times and found that parking sucks at certain times of the day, certain baristas make better drinks than others, the line can get super long at certain times and days, etc. although convenient for grocery shopping, i think it may be best to go to a regular starbucks store because i rarely ever have trouble getting the perfectly blended drink or adjustments.

I really like this Starbucks because it’s convenient when I’m shopping, it’s close to home and I don’t have to worry about stinky service if I don’t tip because they can’t get tipped inside the vons starbucks! They don’t have much of a selection of goodies but u are inside a grocery store so who cares? Plus I can give the cashier items to ring up for me… winning!!!

What more can you ask from a Starbucks operating inside a Von’s store? The only problem that I’ve noticed with these Starbucks is that their cash register system does not appear to be linked with Starbucks, because I had the need to pay for my refills being a Gold Member when it should be free. I had the same problem with another Starbucks within Vons location.

It’s somewhere between a 2 and a 3 star rating. I like the bright windows in the sitting area facing the street, though the street isn’t an amazing view or anything. I ended up choosing 2 because parking can be difficult during lunch time. Medium seating area with mostly tables and a couple chairs. Lots of food placed nearby if I want to eat lunch and coffee. This is my on-my-way-to-San-Diego Sbux choice because it is right by the 101 south on ramp.

I generally get terrible service at any Starbucks located inside a grocery store but I gave this one two shots and they still blew it both times. Why don’t they train their people in a more consistent manner either in Starbucks standard or Vons standards? I usually get great service from both companies but when it comes to Starbucks in a grocery store, it seems to me that they stick their«good for nothing» person there. The first time all I wanted was a refill of a coffee and there was one girl in front of me. I waited for about 5 minutes(not kidding) while the lady behind the counter tried to take an order and have the customer pay… she then made the drink but I guess she made it wrong so when I heard the customer complain to her and had her remake it, I just gave up. Today, all I wanted was a cup of coffee again and I was behind one dude waiting to purchase a box of cereal(don’t know why…). He waited for her to just turn around and acknowledge him for a while. She just didn’t care and went on her business with her back to the counter. I know she saw us both but she just didn’t care and continued to finish washing dishes or whatever she was doing then finally she turned around with a grim look on her face like he is a nuisance. When I ordered coffee with my own mug, she charged me $ 1.85 first and then decided to change it to $ 1.95, no credit for brining my own mug. When I asked why she changed the price and then not give me a credit for my mug, she said that she measured the coffee using a venti cup so she’s charging me for a venti coffee and because Vons Starbucks does not operate the same way, she didn’t give me the credit for the mug. She said«but I’ll give you 10cent credit anyway» like she’s giving away a house. She handed me my mug wet with coffee or water I don’t know and didn’t even bother to wipe it down. I had to ask for napkins for her to reluctantly wipe my mug dry so I don’t get coffee all over my hands and dress… Is that too much to ask? Well, obviously… Seriously, why do these idiot work at every grocery store coffee kiosks?
