Honey Cup Coffee and Bistro

Will E. and Deb M. are obviously a couple, and they probably own another breakfast spot.
Both of their reviews are totally off base. The breakfasts are outstanding at Honey Cup. When I’m away from Oxnard on business, I dream of the Running Egg Sandwich! The lunch menu is awesome too. I eat there at least 2 – 3 times a week, and I’ve had pretty much everything on the menu. No complaints whatsoever. My favorites are Running Egg, Anchor Sandwich with Roast Beef, Farmers Breakfast Burrito, and Sailing Turkey. All you Starbucks and Coffee Bean fans should give HC a try. Starbucks coffees and lattes are not how coffee is supposed to taste, they are how Starbucks coffee tastes. HC is like the coffee houses of the past with great service, great food, and a very personal vibe. #1 Coffee Shop and Breakfast place in Oxnard/​Channel Islands Harbor by a long shot!

Great little coffee shop for those of us who appreciate something other than the «bucks». Love coming here on Sunday during the farmers market. Overall great service and offerings.

Hidden gem of a spot with a beautiful view, yummy food and very dog friendly! Will def come back to this place over & over again. Great breakfast, lunch or brunch spot with a healthy menu. Known for their Honey Cup coffee (must get in hot or cold form!) with yummy home made honey as their main ingredient. Husband and I look forward to coming in for brunch and bringing the dogs with to then enjoy a walk along the harbor after our meal. Pet water bowl and treats always available. The vibe is laid back and modern with a fun, welcoming look. Food was very fresh and tasted as good as it sounded on the menu!

We ordered the running egg sandwich and the ‘breakfast burrito’.
The breakfast burrito was not a burrito. In fact, it was actually a wrap. I was very confused upon receiving this order. The description on the menu did include the items it said it would but I still thought I would be getting a burrito. It had lettuce, halved cherry tomatoes, scrambled egg and a couple of thick pieces of bacon. It wasn’t fat enough as I hoped it would be for the price. Same goes for the sandwich.
The running egg sandwich I got was very different from the photos I see of it on here. It was served on one of those round flat bolillo breads. The bread was not toasted so the sandwich was just kinda floppy. There was one thin piece of meat in it. Not too exciting. My boyfriend makes a much better runny sandwich with toasted sourdough.
My total was somehow 18 dollars for the two items. As I handed my cash over, I was really hoping everything was calculated correctly at the register but I didn’t want to ask or be annoying about it because the cashier seemed really inexperienced. I don’t mean to rag on the cashier but she didn’t even know that lattes have steamed milk.

Great location, located next to sea fresh on harbor.
The vibe is local without the attitude in a manicured storefront with thoughtful decorations.
The food, I had the runny egg sandwich, can you say perfect.
I like the coffee it’s not outstanding but honestly the best coffee I have had was in Turin Italy so it’s a hard bar to match.
Definitely worth a bike ride or even drive here if you do not live close by.

Not much to say except they have super friendly staff, & it’s novel, with all the Starbucks, Peete’s coffee, chain coffee places, to have a coffee place that adds honey instead of pump sweeteners to coffee. I don’t know why I never thought of it, but it really smooths out the flavor of the coffee. The dirty chai is Wow! I’m usually not a fan of chai, but I am now with Honey Cup’s chai! So delicious & smooth… no artificial flavorings.
Hubby is living at the harbor on a boat & Honey Cup is right there next to him… sweet!!! We’ll be there all the time! Thank God for non-​chain coffee!

We are locals and were very excited for the new eating opportunity in the neighborhood. It’s a cute little place and seemed to offer nice selections. After 2 visits we will not go back. First visit we ordered the special baguette, told they were out of the bread. OK, different bread is fine. When it came a LONG time later it was missing 2 of it’s listed ingredients. While the turkey was good, appeared fresh roasted, the sandwich as a whole was bland and unappealing.
2^nd visit, after waiting in line 15 – 20 minutes to order, the gentlemen at the counter tells us «we have no food». It seems hard to believe that he didn’t have an inkling that this could be the case and saved us the wait by informing us earlier. There were only 3 set of folks in front of us and they ordered drinks. During our time in line a young lady was eating chips behind the counter. She then wiped her hands on her pants and prepared someones smoothie, no washing, no gloves.
Seems they have good reviews and perhaps we were there on the 2 worst days they’ve been open, but not likely to give it another chance.

Best coffee I’ve ever had hands down! Best atmosphere. Very pet friendly and super nice staff. Every coffee drink they make is fantastic. Been there every time in in Oxnard and the last time I left with a lb of beans so I can have honeycup anytime. Love this place. A gem that’s worth searching out.

There coffees good but the food is awesome! I’ve tried both breakfast and some of there lunch specials and loved them. The owners, Kat and Kyle are a great addition to Marine Emporium Landing. The runny egg sandwich gets two thumbs up.

Kat and Kyle are awesome, it’s very cool seeing the owners working the bar and serving customers.
All fruit smoothies are great options.
Definitely try the honey cup latte, made with real raw honey.
Also, the waffle with the bacon and eggs cooked into it is solid. A fun mix.
Stop on by! Great atmosphere.

I had the oatmeal, I am not sure I have had such a good bowl, will be back tomorrow. My bud had the runny egg sandwich and said it is probably the best he has had. We are heading back tomorrow. Presentation of the cappuccino was very good.

Honeycup is 5 star in all that they do — friendly staff, great food and coffee drinks, healthy choices. They offer 3 kinds of non-​dairy milk. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed with nice harbor views, palm trees, and outdoor seating. There are literally hundreds of parking spaces at the harbor so there’s no stress in getting here.
I went for lunch and had a rodeo sandwich — delicious roast beef with fresh veggies, cheese and bacon.
They also have amazing cold brew (self serve)
Another day I had a latte with coconut milk — amazing — and I am a very «experienced» latte drinker.

Great service and drinks. Wish there were a way to revamp the energy of this area. This is such a great location, but we rarely come this way during the week because it’s a bit too deserted for us.
Nevertheless, the five stars are for the service and the variety of drinks. They have board games here, and while we were there on a day off, our grown kids, best friends, and we had a good time with Cards Against Humanity.

Great full menu. Handcrafted drinks. Barista was very friendly explaining their drink options. No soy but there are lots of alternative milk options like almond and coconut. I would love to come back and try the waffle bowl and their lunch items. Open 5am to 3pm and 8pm on the weekends.

I seriously hope they consider expanding and bringing this to my local gym or at least Orange County.
I was on vacation and looking for a place with good quality food that was health conscious and flavorful and the Honey Cup Café was perfect!
I was lucky enough that either I made it within minutes of their serving cut off time for breakfast or they kindly made The Running Egg anyway.
The picture doesn’t do it justice but it was made to perfection in every way. The bread was toasted on the outside and had the right amount of softness on the inside in addition to a mayo that was not spicy but had a kick to it. The egg similarly was cooked enough so the yoke wasn’t ridiculously messy but left the flavor able to be absorbed by the ham and bread and able to be cherished by me as the consumer. The ham and avocado portions were generous and I think this may have been the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever eaten.
I washed it down with the Honey Latte.

Imagine: a freshly baked waffle, cut up, layered in a bowl, then topped with whipped crème, berries and Granola. Bam!
Drinks are fantastic, great service straight to the table, and they let me stay and finish up my work (free WiFi!!). Very clean and a great personal touch with everyone who made my food also serving. I’ll be back!

Cute place! Location is off of the harbor in Hollywood Beach. I ordered the «running yolk» sandwich ($ 9) & an iced chai latte (about $ 5). The prices are kinda overpriced, but the quality is there!
The running yolk sandwich was delicious! It has a running fried egg, avocado, ham, cheese, spicy mayo on a toasted ciabatta bread. All those things made the PERFECT breakfast sandwich!
Btw, breakfast items are served until 12pm!
My iced chai latte was good too! At first, I was expecting like how it would taste at Starbucks, BUT this was much better and it was not heavy-​loaded tasting on the chai.
I have yet to try their gelato next time I’m around this area!

I was so influenced by the wonderful reviews here that I brought my son with me to check out this place for a simple breakfast. He ordered a sandwich, I had a simple waffle and we both had the hot chocolate. Everything was $ 25.
To be very honest, I did not find anything special about their food, the hot chocolate was very bland and the place is just ordinary — no very friendly servers or cashier as well as said on the previews reviews. I asked my son if he would like to come back and he said, nope it’s not that good here.
