First time here for brunch, excellent service and great food! Had the $ 6 mimosas and the lox and herbed cream cheese bagel at a great price! Definitely coming back again some day. They also have live music on Sundays which was great for the ambience sitting outside overlooking the boats and the water.

I’ve had good & mediocre experiences here. But, the good outweigh the mediocre. First, if Steve is there, he’s very helpful, kind & will make sure your party gets what you need. Maria, seems to just not like people, never smiles or has anything to say — maybe it’s a woman thing? That aside, we love reserving the party room for private parties, have gone to probably 5+ parties there & the service when you have a private party is phenomenal. Never disappointed in the food either for private parties. Have also had plenty — at least 4+ group brunches on the patio. Once we arrived on a Saturday & surprise, there’s not bottomless mimosas on Sat or brunch! But, they made the exception, since it was my besties birthday! The food seems to always be changing quality. Sometimes it’s exceptional, sometimes it’s questionable. However, I haven’t been disappointed. Just saying, it seems as if the chefs keep changing. The wait staff sometimes is wonderful & on top of it & sometimes seems a little riff raffy. But, location, location, location. I know they just opened a few years ago. I say it can only get better! And, I do love to sit on the patio in the warm sun enjoying people walking around the harbor & having bottomless blood orange mimosas. Let’s encourage them to come up with a rainy/windy day happy hour or something to compete with Sea Fresh, because I think that’s the only thing missing.

Host very nice but waitress a tru not nice person. Old gal that seemed to hate the job. We felt like bad kids being scolded the whole night. Pricey.

This is probably my favorite local restaurant. You can’t go wrong here! I love the filet mignon, but have also had the Waterside burger, and several other dishes which were amazing. Live music in the evenings, delicious wines and desserts, friendly staff and owners, and a harbor view — what could be better?

Love the waterside, so much that I often find myself dreaming about it on Mondays when they are closed lol. My absolute favorite thing is the Filet Mignon cooked MR. I’ve visited Mastros multiple times and The Waterside is still my pick! Ghost chicken wings… Also a hit. Burger… Also a hit… Wine… Duh… Hit up there happy hour you won’t be disappointed!

I moved to the area a year ago and have loved going to Waterside for brunch on Sundays! My husband and I love it! However after my experience this past weekend I will NEVER again. The performer who was singing on Saturday made a few remarks to me. I was having fun with my girlfriends and making jokes. I think she thought she was being funny joining in but in actuality it was very rude and hurtful. I will never go Waterside as long as she is there.

Waterside has fantastic anbiance. Our server Emmy was spectacular. She was in her element as she worked the crowd. Steve was hospitable making us all comfortable and seatimg us quickly. The chicken skillet had great flavor, but was overcooked creating a very tough breast. So tough I took two bites and was done.

First, I don’t like to write these types of reviews. I’ve been to the Waterside on a couple of occasions for drinks and have been perfectly happy but the New Years pre fix was one of the worst experiences for me and my group(3 other couples) that we have ever had, at any restaurant. I’m anything but a food snob and haven’t posted in years, but I really needed to share this experience — especially if you are looking to attend a structured event hosted by/at Waterside. Let me regale the tail. 1) New Years day reservations, prefix and you must chose either 6 something or 9:30. My party chose 9:30. We showed up at 9:25 and were not able to be seated until 10:05. In itself irritating but throw in a jammed bar, no seating in waiting and cold weather — this is how it started. 2) Hors d’œuvre — Mushroom stuffed crab. It may have been good when they were made 6 hours ago(asked the waitress). The outside was lukewarm and the inside was cold(everybody’s). 3) Main Corse(Prime Rib) Salty! Comically so, not like salty for my taste but literally as if the salt shaker lid had fallen off. What could have made it worse? 2 ordered medium and 3 med rare. Fairly typical for prime rib, right? It was raw, I mean below rare still Jelloee. So chewy the supplied knife couldn’t cut it. The mediums were charcoal briquettes. Grey all the way through, not a hint of pink or even light grey. 4)Dessert — OMG how could this get worse. Ginger Crème brulee please. Ok…(15 min later) sorry, out of the special Ginger brulee how about the regular brulee? Ok…(15 min later) sorry were out of that. Chocolate lava flow? WHATEVER. …If I said it was burnt and we all started laughing would you believe me? It was! HAPPYNEWYEAR P. S. we notified the waitress in the beginning this would be 3 ticket. SHEGOTITRIGHT, well almost. Mine had everyone’s drinks on it and I didn’t want to be that shmuck who re divvies, so my bill cost me an additional $ 130. Way to start the year off for me Waterside.

This place is rocking, live music every Sunday. Nice atmosphere right on the water. Dog friendly.

Our $ 69.00 a person meal was terrible. Four course meal consisted of a burnt homemade potato chip with sour cream type droplet for first course. Then cold button stuffed mushrooms; 3 of them. Cold coffee, and main course was rack of lamb. Lamb was not bad, had better. Lastly was peppermint lava cake, wasn’t flowing at all – cold. Music was boring. All in all won’t return. Sad.

They march to their own drummer and it’s not customer service. The location is wonderful. The entertainment on the weekends is wonderful. Service is terrible because they have to deal with a COOK who is clearly out of the comfort zone of the previous position held at Burger King. Menu is not what you will get. and servers are tired of explaining the difference between what you ordered and what you got. Bread is good. Many attempts to eat here and have decided to eat before I go so I can put whatever I get in a dogie bag. They really don’t care. The pictures below are perfect.

The food was great, the dessert was amazing! But the waitress we had on the other hand was horrible! She was so rude! Maybe she was just having a bad day… regardless, people don’t deserve to be treated the way she treated us last night. I would definitely go back but I hope and pray I don’t get the same waitress.

A recent visit to Oxnard brought us all out to the Waterside for a rehearsal dinner for two dozen, this is a great space for harbor side dining, drinking and dancing. A local hangout with good food and a solid bar. The food is good, our dinner for the group offered three set options for the evening; a fish entrée of a seared tuna, a beef option of a steak tenderloin and a vegetarian option of what I believe was veggie lasagna. My wife and I both opted for the seared tuna, served over a bed of black rice with asparagus and a side salad. The tuna was cooked very well, nice sear on the outside and a rare center, it needed s&p. The black rice and asparagus was an interesting mix, the asparagus was good though the rice had an odd consistency. The house garden salad fresh and quite good, a nice mix of seasonal greens and the blue cheese dressing was fresh, tangy and chunks of blue cheese. After dinner, we moved into the inside bar area for a while. This is a full service bar with a decent sized sitting area inside and a nice outside area with plenty of tables and chairs, as well as a covered outside area where live music was playing. Our group was able to mix and move around fairly easy though it did get pretty packed once everyone got into the bar area. A good choice for food, drinks and music right on the water. A solid 3.5 stars — rounded up for great ambience. If we’re ever in the area would return again. 326

Although this dining local is lovely… food rates a D service a C– I sent my cold food back twice… they simply placed warm BBQ sauce over cold chicken. Could not get attention of a server and oh yes, when I did finally catch one’s eye he appeared to be totally wasted . Probably should have gone across the walk to eat seafood… Can hear music from there too.

My husband and I love this place. We will come here once a week. Everything on the menu is so delish. My favorites are the steak and duck tacos, sliders, wings, and burger. Everything is farm to table and super fresh. Sundays they have live music with flowing mimosas. Nothing like finding a beautiful gem, good food, music and on the water. The onwer and staff is so nice.

Good to very good wine selection. Very nice atmosphere. Starter with plump fresh shrimp cocktail with a wonderful cocktail sauce, thinking this sauce is homemade and needs bottling because it’s the best I’ve had. Next course is a strawberry spinach salad. The seafood and preparation is exceptional truly a fantastic meal very well prepared by a chef that values his work.

Called searching for a kid friendly place the whole family(grandparents included) would like. Made us a reservation for ten minutes later to give us times to get there. Seated us right away at an inside table with games for the kids… Servers super friendly and accommodating. Menu prices completely reasonable, 6 $ kids menu and excellent specials for around $ 12. Clean, good food. Quiet enough to have a conversation but the noise from the kids wasn’t a bother to others. Definitely will come back. Outdoor patio with live music is inviting for an adult gathering.

I was looking for a nice restaurant that offered great food and pleasant scenery. This place fit the bill, so I decided to make a reservation. It was a Thursday night at 8pm, and the place was almost full. Live music was being played outside in the patio. We showed up on time, and they had a table reserved for us… the way an ACTUAL reservation SHOULD work. For this reason alone, I would’ve given this place 5 stars, but then we sat down… …and realized that this place deserved MORE than 5 stars. Our server was awesome. She was nice, but not TOO nice to the point where you know they’re faking it for the tip. She was knowledgeable about the menu made sure we had plenty of time to decide what to order, and made sure we had everything we needed. When she first came to our table, I mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary… and she even gave us something special at the end of our meal. She was also the first person my wife was able to brag to, after I surprised her with tickets to the Janet Jackson concert. And she seemed genuinely happy for us. The food was amazing as well. My wife ordered the shrimp scampi, and I had the pork tenderloin. Both were very flavorful. The tenderloin even had a little kick to it, which I appreciated. We topped off our meal with the crème brûlée, and a cup of coffee, which were also excellent. We were visiting from out of town, but we hope to dine here again.

We visited here for Sunday Brunch. I love the location in the Channel Islands Harbor. There is patio seating; they are dog friendly and kid friendly. My 5 year-old friend loved the chocolate-chip pancakes. We had a spinach and strawberry salad with goat– cheese and the crab Benedict both were delicious. The potions are not overly large, I count that as a plus. The live music was terrific, National Cat, a(mostly) cover-band, classic country/70s music, that we came specifically to see(again). The band will bring us back again. It was a beautiful day and a good time was had by all.
