Crab hoagie. Oh my god the crab hoagie. If I didn’t live over an hour away, I would eat 2 a day! Then today… I added oysters on the half shell to my hoagie repertoire. I haven’t had oysters that good in soooooo long! I’m positive, I’ve never had anything unworthy here. Crab grilled cheese, truffle clam chowder, crab hoagie, oysters, all the coffee… yes. Also, it’s the hippest little coffee/seafood joint I’ve ever been in. My favorite hidden spot. Marry me.

One of my go to places to get fresh seafood in Pacific city. Small menu with only the good stuff: chowder, crab cocktail, shrimp cocktail, crab hoagie, and crab quesadilla, and oysters on the half shell. Owner obviously takes pride in making everything from scratch, the homemade dips and sauces are amazing. Grab a bag of the in-house roasted coffee beans to go. Humble little building, and very casual. Serves small selection of beer and wine. Seafood is always extremely fresh.

This place was one of the highlights of Pacific City. The owner is very nice and accommodating though, to be fair we were the only people in at the time. When I called to make sure they were open for dinner, I didn’t want to be misled by the«coffee» and have them close mid day, he asked If I wanted him to stay later at night for us. I thought he was joking but after meeting him, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was serious, amazing customer service! Had some oysters, the clam chowder and the crab hoagie. Loved it all! The oysters had a great sauce, if I had to complain it’d be that they could have been shucked cleaner, and we went nuts over the chowder. Before leaving we grabbed some of the beans to grind ourselves. Helpful guy, great food! Loved it all!

My uncle recommended this place. Said that he comes here all the time. The owner is so nice. The crab grilled cheese is to die for. But make sure you get some clam chowder and dip it. Even more to die for. Definitely a must go for locals and travelers

Gourmet food done right: white truffle clam chowder, crab hoagie, local raw oysters with wasabi. Mind blown!

Came for oysters and they didn’t have any :-( The coffee was great though. The clam chowder was good. Support local! We will try again for oysters.

The oysters are fresh, local Netarts oysters. I had the oysters raw and served with an amazing cocktail sauce that has a dash of wasabi on it. I have had oysters with grated horseradish in the past, but the wasabi was even better. The wasabi is actually locally grown by a farm just up the road. Do try the oysters and ask for the wasabi. I also tried the crab hoagi which was pretty tasty. The crab salad by the way is also served with the cocktail sauce and wasabi. They roast their own coffee which you can buy as well as serve beer and wine. The place is a funky beach shack, filled with atmosphere. If you want to get athletic, they will rent you a surfboard or kayak. Drop by, even if it is just for a coffee and a chat. You will leave with fond memories.

Great tasting coffee… perfect after a cold morning on the water or to get you started for your day on the water, either way, can’t go wrong.

Great place! Love the atmosphere. Five stars for the the crab grilled cheese and raw oysters. Didn’t try the coffee because they didn’t have many milk alternatives. Highly recommend.

OMG the oysters here. $ 2 each and big and creamy and we are in oyster bliss heaven. This is a really good casual joint. The quintessential dilapidated beach shack décor. With a superb(limited) menu. Also… strong and tasty coffee, as well as good iced chai. Love this place!!!

We accidentally found this place when we were doing the three cape scenic drive and we had wanted coffee. So we stopped by this little coffee shop across the street from the hardware store. This is such an awesome coffee spot and lunch place. When we walked into this little shop, we were greeted by friendly staff and the quaint blackboard menu. Then we ordered our coffee drinks and then realized they have local oysters and we do not regret ordering the oysters, they were good. Onto the coffee, we enjoyed our lattes and americanos that are made by the owner. We also enjoy the Dory Roast that we brought home hereafter. We definitely have made this coffee shop a must-visit spot for us when we visit Pacific City.

I tried the coffee here and it was undrinkable. They supposedly brew their own yet there’s no sign of what roast it is(i.e., no whole bean bags for sale). Not only did the coffee not taste great, it wasn’t very hot either.

We came here twice while staying at a beach house in Pacific City. The beach here is absolutely stunning, but the town is seriously underserved as far as eating establishments. On our first visit we had clam chowder and a crab melt. Both were pretty good. Not the best chowder I’ve ever had in Oregon, but good. On our way out of town we stopped in a second time for coffee. The coffee was bitter and we ended up only taking a few sips before we had to toss it. I’m still giving 3 stars as the chowder was pretty good and it’s one of the few decent places to eat at in Pacific City. I would suggest that the proprietors start serving Stumptown or Caffe Vita. It would make it a 5 star joint.

Awesome lunch spot. The white truffle clam chowder is among the best chowders I’ve ever had. Crab hoagie and crab grilled cheese were also delicious and very reasonably priced. We will be back!

What a great place. Rent a kayak, eat some good faire, drink an expresso made with beans roasted on site, or just enjoy some conversation with the friendly owners. They have a great wine and beer selection to boot. I highly recommend the crab hoagie. And the digs are not fancy but very appropriate and pleasant. Enjoy.

Needed a quick coffee fix on my way to Pelican Brewery. This place fit the bill! Stopped in and ordered a simple nonfat vanilla latte. I don’t like mine super sweet so I asked for it with less flavoring than the norm. The lady was super sweet and had me taste it first to make sure it was to my liking; it was :) I love local shops like this, so much more intimate than Starbucks. And they roast their beans in house, always a plus! Definitely stop by Haystack Coffee when you’re in Pacific City.

Even though it was my second bowl of chowder today– the smoked salmon chowder blew me away. Definitely coming back. A cup was only $ 5.

Quite simply the worst coffee I’ve had in recent memory. On top of that, dude was BAKED out of his mind, had to ask what our order was 3x. Btw — it was an iced coffee and an americano. And he got It wrong.
