After my elderly mother’s back and shoulder surgeries, I took her to the Cypress Center for her physical therapy. Her physical Therapist, Alison Gallup was AMAZING!!! She was so sweet, patient, gentle, compassionate, and most importantly, she helped my mother heal from her surgeries. Other places do not give you the personal attention Alison did. Other places just give you an exercise and walk away. Alison stayed with my mother making sure she was doing the exercise the correct way as not to hurt herself further. She counted with her and encouraged her. You could tell Alison really cares about her patients. This gal is a gift from Heaven. And the facilities are great! and the billing and scheduling was seamless.

Amazing facility that offers both physical therapy and pilates. You have doctors of physical therapy that are knowledgable and work with your doctor to get you the best possible outcome. All the staff and so friendly and so good. You get to know them like they are trusted friends! Highly recommend!

The Cypress Center is a place of healing miracles. Alli changed my neck from chronic pain to ‘gone’, with her manipulation and home movements that I do religiously. Sarah’s private and class instruction in pilates is keeping me in alignment and strengthening my 67 year old body to ease arthritis and joint pain. I thank heaven everyday that we are blessed to have this sanctuary of sanity and inspiration in our midst. I do not fear aging while I can stay on the right side of health with their guidance! My gratitude is boundless!

I love the Pilate class. My instructor Sarah has changed my life. The class is super fun and she mixes it up every week to keep it fresh. I feel I am getting stronger each week and I wouldn’t miss it! It’s amazing and did I say I love it Xo Marlena

Here’s another update. So I thought this was all sorted out and I like my therapist very much so I called for more physical therapy. It seems that after overcharging me for several months and being totally non-responsive when I tried to sort it out UNTIL I described the situation on Unilocal, when I got an INSTANT response and a refund, now they are refusing to treat me any more because I wrote about them on Unilocal(«we are a very positive place and this was too many negative vibes»). I have offered to take down anything I wrote on Unilocal which is incorrect. So far I have not received a request.

Like other patients of The Cypress Center I am also a triathlete. My race schedule this season included the Hollywood ½ Marathon and the Wildflower Long Course… two 13 mile runs that I thought I could easily do one month apart. In fact, I expected to continue training for the second race after running the first. Instead my IT band(hip area) tightened up to the point where I was limping after the first race and experiencing serious discomfort, if not pain, while climbing stairs and running… even a couple miles. I had tried everything from icing, to stretching, to foam rolling. As a last ditch effort I decided to visit the center(the day before the race!) to see if they could perform some type of miracle. My PT was Jerri and she was great! She didn’t scold me for attempting another ½ marathon while injured though she certainly could/should have! Instead we stretched and iced and she massaged my hip. It was nothing drastically different than what I had been doing myself but come race day — no pain! Not even at the end of the race. Instead of my hip buckling at the finish line as before I proudly strutted off the course flashing my medal. I am so grateful that Samantha Wood referred me to her clinic and to Jerri for«healing» me the day before my race. I don’t know whether I’m a candidate for long term care but I will certainly return the next time I experience any type of race related pain.

I have participated is several triathlons since 2000 and I have suffered numerous injuries and have been plagued by unexplained chronic soreness and weakness in certain parts of my body. My most recent ailments were numbness and pain in my arm and hand, numbness in my foot and pain in my hip. Most health professionals gave me isolated solutions to my problems but Brooke Winder P.T., DPT, OCS, was able to explain what was causing my suffering in just a 60 minute evaluation. The amount of knowledge and skill she demonstrated was very impressive. I feel I have a complete road map to putting myself back together now. I thought that the forces of nature and my genetics were going to end my participation in triathlons, but now I know what I need to work on, which makes me feel very optimistic about my future. I want to give special thanks to Samantha Wood, who is triathlete and has supported the triathlon community with her knowledge and expertise as a physical therapist, what she has provided gives normal middle aged people like me, the means to do extraordinary things.

This place is indescribably wonderful My father, at 88, developed back pain after a life of much physical activity and good health in the muscular/skeletal realm. He is getting relief from it and since he’s old and of course well-insured, he didn’t realize that it is 165/hour for those sans insurance. But these are professionals. Not just massage therapists and my aunt bridled when I said there were short certificate programs for that, comparing it to online acupuncture. Still, these people have a slew of diplomas on the wall and they’re truly knowledgeable. Peter at the front is truly great. It’s upstairs in the strip mall where everything always goes bankrupt and no one remembers to go unless one’s doctor is there, nor is there much privacy(I could hear Brooke telling my father, lol, «Don’t worry about it, Robert,» which prompted me to wonder if this was a sub because anyone who knows my dad knows her words would be unintelligible to him). But this is the old Kinko’s mall and it’s just a dumb strip mall: Palisades Gardens is the name for no reason I can determine other than the big stone thing in the middle with some plants. That doesn’t usually warrant the term«gardens.» My apartment of 10 yrs in SB, pseudo-senior complex across from cemetery was arranged AROUND a big garden, hence the term«Hope Gardens,» though it became«Death Gardens» for me very quickly. Also, it turns out Alison Garb, one year ahead of me at Westlake School for Girls, has private practice next door and refers people and she’s the daughter of ex-colleague of Dad’s so it’s truly a small world) Dad is not an easy guy, though easier than he used to be, and the girls handle him great. He is very fond of Brooke and even when insurance quits paying, he is going to keep going back as long as the pain continues.

Cypress Center has changed my life. When I first came to them with a severe back injury, I felt extremely vulnerable and afraid. But I immediately felt so secure in their friendly, healing environment. This is nothing like the physical therapy«mills» I’ve experienced before. They provide one-on-one customized therapy, and are so knowledgeable and compassionate. I am positive that I would not have made the complete recovery that I did without the post-surgical physical therapy I received from Rachel Clark. I still go to Cypress Center weekly for individual Pilates instruction to maintain and build on my full recovery. My instructor Heidi Harrison is absolutely beyond incredible. She has transformed my body. She’s given me strength like I’ve never had before… all without risking re-injury. My back is strong and pain-free. I highly recommend Cypress Center.

This review is for Christina Bacigalupo, the acupuncturist who works in the clinic. As an acupuncturist myself, I think it important to list those whom i refer patients to in other locations. Christina is my go-to for the LA/Santa Monica/Palisades area. She is adept in many areas, specifically trained in both sports medicine and Women’s health(infertility). Her genuine nature and intelligence make for a unique practitioner. Its rare to find someone so compassionate but with the head for science and methodology that Christina offers. If you are in this area, you will be quite pleased to land in her care!
