I first met Catherine when I purchased a groupon for a cat eye lash extensions. She was easy to communicate with through text and I was able to get an appt easily. My first appt was a cat eye. For my fill 2-​ish weeks later, I opted to upgrade to the full natural set. I was satisfied with the results and they lasted almost a month.
I returned to Catherine after a 4 month hiatus due to my busy schedule. I’m so glad I came back! Catherine works very carefully and listened to what I wanted. The results were awesome. I can be eye makeup-​free for a few weeks!
Her process was very gentle– no stinging from the glue. She also does a meticulous job.

First, I was late due to ridiculous traffic. I felt awful and tried my best to get there at the scheduled time which was noon. Catherine was amazingly nice and professional. I got the cat eye extensions because it is my first time and I didn’t want to go overboard. They look amazing and feel great. She was so gentle during the process and even though my right eye kept watering she did a flawless job. I’m recommending her to all of my friends! Thank you Catherine!

Catherine, is not just a knowledgable, fun, dedicated, professional… Catherine is AMAZING! I can see how she takes her time with each client, ensuring the satisfaction and happiness before each client departs. I’ve been seeing Catherine for a while now, for lashes and looking at everything, She doesn’t just have you lay down and slap lashes on you. It’s the whole experience that really makes each detail count. Fresh clean linen over laying a soft cushion bed table to lay on, everything organized to its according service location. Designated area for eyelash wash. Beautiful decorated room with calming art and optional but complementary, yet soothing music. Everything is sterile and clean, A nice complementary under eye treatment while she conducts her magic. Also, complementary tea or coffee in lovely sachet bags, A beautiful waterfall fountain as you walk in, this salon located right next to the Rockaway Beach, from the moment you walk in, you are greeted and as u await to get started, you can relax to the sound of the water or enjoy a cup of joe or tea ;)
Catherine will examine your eye lashes and HEAR WHAT YOU WANT. She will show you and explain the whole lash cycle, she will explain what will work best for you while Achieving the look you desire. The interaction is Relaxing and fun! I leave every time loving my lashes and satisfied. Yes, you can go many other places… But once I find a great location and person who can perform outstanding work of what I desire, I’m hooked! Loyal customer for life! I love not only setting aside this time to have my desired look achieved but also to enjoy that set aside «time for me» when you think about it, any time you go to a place to have something done to you it’s a form of pampering your self. What’s better? Having an amazing woman who is so humble and down to earth to talk to and interact with! Not only have I discovered and gained a phenomenal yet exceptional lash tech… But a friend.

Completely unprofessional and unresponsive. Work was shoddy at best and after asking to have it fixed, ignored.

I hate writing this and wrestled with posting a review for a while but think the story should be told. I had been going to Catherine for eyelash extensions — which was fine (FYI, I’ve had better)… until I mentioned that I was thinking of dying my hair pink…
I wanted something soft/​subtle (rose gold ombré with the ends being a pale/​pastel pink) and something that I could easily wash out/​change (since I mentioned a number of times that I will be getting married in the next year and don’t want to do anything too crazy to my hair)… however, I also wanted it to last at least a month or two.
Catherine originally mentioned that it could cost anywhere between $ 500 – 800 (~$ 100/​hr for color correcting/​lifting and saying it could take 3 – 5 hours for lifting alone) to do it with her. I politely told her I would go to someone else because the pink was just a fun color I wanted to try out. A week or so later she texts me saying she found a way to lighten faster and can get the cost down to somewhere in the $ 200 range. She appeared to do a lot of homework and said she did tons of fun colors on her daughter and other clients so I figured I’d give it a shot — HUGE MISTAKE.
It took us some time to schedule (apparently, she has a hard time getting text messages because of reception in the salon — not really her fault but it makes it super difficult to communicate with her). Once we set an appointment, she set to dying my hair. After 6+ hours at the salon, the pink barely showed. She then told me she could reapply the pink dye and I could go home and sleep with it — the longer the better… something her daughter does all the time. She said that since the dye doesn’t seep into the hair, it would just help it last longer. I went home with the dye and a cap, washed it the next morning, and, to my absolute horror, my hair was MAGENTA. I text Catherine for help and she told me to use a clarifying shampoo — didn’t help and just dried out my hair even more than it was. I tried to see if she would be able to fix it (you know, so I could go into the outside world) — nope. She wasn’t available for the next few days. I cried, got my money back and went to someone else for a fix.
I have to note that there was a SEVERE amount of damage done to my hair. The areas she bleached was unsteady at best (you could see horizontal lines and patches of hair that went from light to dark to light again) and I ended up having to cut several inches to try to make my hair look remotely healthy. I also had to spend $ 500+ to re-​dye my hair, deep condition, and treat with a variety of products to care for my hair. I’ve been to 3 other salons after this incident and each one was horrified at what had happened (NOTE: another salon told me it was ILLEGAL to send clients home with dye in their hair).

I booked an appointment for today at 2PM, last week, so I wandered in around 1:35PM to see if Catharine could take me earlier (I was planning on getting the cat-​eye eyelash extensions). Once I checked in she had a puzzled look on her face and told me she already had someone scheduled for 2PM and if I received a text from her. I said «no, I hadn’t», but since I was there she tried to contact the woman who had the 2PM slot to see if she could come a little later– something I didn’t ask for. I don’t understand why I would book an appointment online and need to contact her about my appointment though. Anyway, she gave me paperwork to fill out and also told me the woman was not answering her texts by 1:42PM, and if I could come in again later today (I can’t because I have class until 7PM). THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I SAW HER. Was she hiding? Clearly she did not respect my time or she would have come back out and talked to me about rescheduling for a different date, which would have been fine. I waited around til 2:10PM and she still hadn’t come back out and her other 2PM appointment had shown up. While I was leaving another person asked if I wanted to reschedule and I said NO.
I am totally disgusted at the way she handled my situation. I understand that I can’t ask her to move someone else’s appointment to allow me to go, but she didn’t even ask me to reschedule for a different date and ALLOWED ME TO SIT AROUND FOR OVER HALF AN HOUR WAITING FOR HER. She’s inconsiderate and rude.

Catherine, was amaze balls! My lashes look so great, and have received many compliments on how beautiful they are. I just finished the spartan race this past Saturday, and my lashes kept up quite well with all the sweat and tears :)

Catharine is the absolute expert. I’ve been to a handful of places to get lash extensions, and no application has lasted as long as this one! She is extremely thorough, making sure the lashes are cleaned, primed, AND cured afterwards. Nowhere else have I had such a completed procedure, and the efforts made can be seen in the results. It’s been 2 days shy of 3 weeks, and they still look full and fluttery. I actually cannot believe they’ve lasted this long.
Another plus is that she’s super nice and fun to talk to, and the location in Pacifica is super cute+easy parking. Thanks, Cat!

Catherine was fantastic! It was my first experience getting lash extensions and I love them! Got the cat eye set and I feel fantastic.

I’ve had my lashes done by Catherine several times now and I LOVE them! When I started doing this, I thought it would be a one-​time splurge, but it has quickly become a necessity. She’s incredibly sweet, professional, and takes great care in making sure that she gives you the best lashes you could ever ask for. She’ll talk to you about your preferences and what it is you want to achieve and will work with you to come up with a realistic game plan. She’s so meticulous and patient so you can be sure that you will leave 1000% satisfied! She also has amazing options for add-​ons — you can do glitter lashes, lashes with Swarovski crystals, mink (cruelty free!), silk — you name it, she can do it.
Her prices are incredibly fair and competitive. While you can definitely find someone cheaper, the fact is that you get what you pay for. I honestly can’t imagine paying any less than what she costs and still get the same quality of service.
Aside from the convenience of not having to do a single thing to my eyes everyday, my lashes have become healthier since I’m no longer using an eyelash curler or mascara. I can’t praise her enough. I used to be the type of person that at the very least HAD to have mascara on if I left the house but now I feel like I can just wash my face and go. Aside from feeling glam, the convenience speaks for itself. I don’t think I can ever go back to a curler and mascara.

I visited Catherine for eyelash extensions, and she is absolutely amazing at what she does. Not only is she very patient, kind and skilled, Catherine is also fully licensed which means you will be getting top notch quality products and service!
It’s helpful to have an idea of what you want your eyelashes to look like, but Catherine still took her time understanding my need. She was also realistic about setting my expectations because the result depends on your already existing eyelashes, but that doesn’t mean Catherine won’t do magic and all her best to make you look fabulous.
My wonderful experience began before I even came in to the salon. While setting up an appointment, Catherine was diligent in explaining what steps I should take prior to coming in, in order to extend the life span of my eyelashes. When I came in for my appointment, I filled out an extensive questionnaire that included very specific instructions for after care. I’ve had eyelash extensions before and the salon I visited offered none of the care and instructions that Catherine provided. I could tell from the beginning that Catherine is passionate about what she does and she cares about her customers.
The process takes a while and is not the most relaxing, but its so worth the time. My eyelashes look fabulous and I feel great.
Last but not least, be prepared to be amazed :)

Catherine is a wonderful hair stylist! She is friendly, professional, and knowledgable. I appreciate that fact that she uses organic hair products. Today, I tried the organic hair color, however my process actually started 2 days ago with a personal consultation and allergy testing; something that all stylists learn to do in their training and are expected to continue to do in their practice. Catherine is the first stylist that ever checked my sensitivity to a product. Her prices are very reasonable. The salon she works in has the beauty of Rockaway Beach and the sophistication of a San Francisco salon without the hassle of parking and crowds. Most of all, she did an amazing job on my hair!

My wife had a horrible eyelash curling accident, cutting off half her lashes. Catherine came to the rescue. She took eyelash extensions to a new level, somehow able to fill in the gaps and make them look better than ever. Her patience and kindness and abilities got my wife through a traumatic time. And her prices were reasonable compared to competitors.
From my wife: «With Catherine’s eyelash extensions, you wake up in the morning looking glamorous, like you already have eye makeup on. I’d recommend them to anyone, even if they haven’t gone through the trauma I went through.»

I was ready for a change, both in my hair style and my stylist and I found Catherine of Mindfully Beautiful and I’m feeling very grateful.
While a bit of a trek out to Pacifica the salon is relatively easy to get to; all be it a bit hidden in the back of the small outside shopping area, there is free parking close by. The salon is nice and comfy and the location is great for a walk on the beach before or after getting your hair done.
I had a very short hair cut for the last year or so and while it was great I was thinking I’d actually like to grow it out a bit, so I just didn’t get it cut and I ended up with a bushy soccer mom hairdo. I needed help coming up with a transitional cut to help make the time between short-​short and medium short a little less painful. Catherine listened to me and we talked about options, I had brought a few photos that I thought might work during this in-​between stage if what I had and what I wanted, we looked at them together and talked about what would work for me.
Catherine took her time (if you are looking for a quick in and out, this is not the place for you) she was thoughtful and friendly while doing my hair and while my haircut took nearly 90 minutes, I felt like it was worth it.
A couple of weeks later I sent my boyfriend for a much needed haircut and his hair looks great too.
I’ll be back to Paul Strom Salon and Catherine and I might even venture to do some color next time. I’ve avoided for year, due to the toxic nature of most hair dye, but with all the great less-​toxic products she uses I’m game to give it a try.
