Kountry Kastle Barbecue

This local hotspot was suggested to us by our hotel and it did not disappoint. Vast menu to choose from and all excellent value for money. The BBQ ribs and chicken were really good and all served with a side and beans, coleslaw and rolls. Great beer on tap and with each pitcher we were given a new ice cold mug! Relaxed interior with high booth seating, exactly what you want when eating super messy food. If I ever drive through Paducah again, I’ll definitely be stopping by.

Excellent Food… TERRIBLE Service. My husband and I went to this out of the way restaurant and were completely DUMBFOUNDED by the fact that it took WELL OVER AN HOUR to receive our food. This was on a night where there MIGHT have been 5 tables full. Then, when we FINALLY received our food, we asked for more ranch for our mushrooms, which I then had to go and find her for the ranch because she’d forgotten to get it for us and we had used the ENTIRE first one. We figure she had also forgotten to put our order in, because we had seen other people come, eat and leave before we saw anything edible placed on our table. The food was superb, but the waitress was an airhead who has NO BUSINESS dealing with remembering people’s food orders. Then, as we were paying our bill, yet another woman at the register was too busy talking to someone else, about another customer, to even ask us how our experience was. The sad thing is that this is a very old family business that is being run into the ground with incompetent people working in it. I feel for the man who built this place with his bare hands… What a shame. This place receives a Black List by Madison Award.

Great tasting barbecue in a comfortable atmosphere with friendly staff. Highly recommended when you’re in town.

Ordered the cheese burger. Waitress brought it out and asked if I thought it was too cold??? Said she could take it back and microwave it… How can you even think that is something to ask a paying customer??? Screw this podunk hole in the wall

Stopped by last night while traveling through town. Good food with excellent service. The baked beans and Cole slaw are over the top good. Great prices. Will go again if I am ever in town again.

We stumbled onto this local little gem while on our way to Florida. Tired of the chain restaurants we wanted something different and always up for southern BBQ we figured we’d give this place a try.
We walked in a party of 6, not sure if we’d be able to all sit together as all we saw were booths. I didn’t notice a sign telling us if we should wait to be seated but it was clear it was a local hang out and I thought *maybe we weren’t welcome. It took only a few seconds for someone to tell us to help ourselves to any seat and we walked around the corner to a far back section of tables where all 6 of us could sit comfortably.
The menu isn’t fancy and the food is basic American bar and BBQ food but it was a big menu and cheap! You are not eating healthy here but that’s the point! Our party of 6 spent @ $ 46 with the tip — 1 kid meal, 1 BLT w/​side, 1 burger w/​side, 2 half slabs of ribs, 1 steak sandwich w/​side. The staff was friendly, food was good, we were disappointed we didn’t find this place sooner!!!

I FREAKING LOVE THIS PLACE. And have for years. The kountry cheeseburger with extra pickles and waffle fries and cheese is the best lunch/​dinner ever. When I come home to visit, I make sure to visit the kastle at least once. Corn nuggets, deep fried cauli and cheese… The philly cheese, the fish sandwich… I could go on and on — I usually want the whole menu. Cheap and good.

came for lunch based on a co-worker’s suggestion. It was good! I have to admit, I was a bit scared when I walked in. it’s funny that the place is next door to a topless dance bar. lol.
I will admit that this place knows how to batter dip and FRY.
I got the beer battered fries and the chili cheese dog. Shared the fried pickles for an appetizer.
those beer battered fries were PERFECT. Perfectly crispy and not greasy and crunchy. OMg. :) Definitely recommended!

The BBQ here is subpar. If you’re looking for great BBQ, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for crappy service from snotty waitresses, then this would be the place. I came in for lunch at 2:15, I was one of five people. The waitress told me she forgot I was there and did I want to order after I was left sitting there for a while. Another waitress dropped my food at my table. Literally walked up, dropped my plate in front of me and walked off without a word. Good luck on being Paducha’s oldest restaurant. With staff like you’ve got, I’ll be surprised if you stick around another 75 years.
Update: I sat here in the restaurant posting this. As I’m sitting here eating in a supposedly no smoking restaurant, someone walks by my table smoking. Yeah, this a one star (is zero and option?) kind of place.

Love this place! Stopped here on my first cross country road trip! On the way back I made sure to stop again! Very cheap food and drinks! I could tell the server had several tables and she did great considering how busy she was! Always clean and I always feel welcome! Will always make sure to come here while passing through kentucky!

Only good thing was how cheap all the menu items were… Nothing good much less great about the food here. Would just recommend for cheap beer pitchers and nice waitresses. Again, food is bleh

Excellent food and friendly staff! The portions were large and the BBQ pork sandwich dinner and the rib dinner were delicious. We were traveling and tried it out based on other Unilocal reviews. Glad we did!

We just drove 5 hours to eat here for our Valentine’s night dinner! The deep fried menu (one whole page of deep fried goodness) was impossible to resist, and the «pork on toast» sandwich was as amazing as ever.
Great bbq, cold beer, and deep fried goodness… What more do you need?

When I walked in I must say I wasn’t expecting a bar atmosphere, But we still had a great time. We got to sit wherever we wanted, and on a Thursday night it was packed. The one booth left had a tray on it, as well as it had not been wiped off but it was one of the only seats left so we grabbed it. The waitress was polite, they didn’t have hot tea, but we got a soft drink and water. We ordered Mozz sticks, onion rings, and a herd of wings! Everything came out together, and was cooked perfectly! It was so good! And came in HUGE portions! They also put the bill down right when you start and check it off as they go which is something I’d never seen before. We played the lottery machine while we were waiting which was fun, won $ 3 and then lost it lol. The only downfall I thought was they needed more servers, I only saw one for three rooms and a bar. Maybe they were short staffed that night but I’d like to see more people on the floor. But good Job everyone keep it up!

Best BBQ hole in the wall around. We have Been eating here for years. It’s kinda dark in the bar area when you walk in but family seating is further in the back.

Only octopi can give Kountry Kastle the rating they deserve — because this place is eight thumbs up! They have a gigantic menu of hot dogs, fries, burgers, barbecue, exc., and they taste great (also excellent service)!
Though one thing: The Kid’s Meals burgers are like a tiny snack and about the size of a Big Q styrofoam lid, so if your kids like to eat a lot order a regular meal and split it with them or buy an extra Kid’s Meal.

The perfect «hole in the wall»! They have just about everything you can think of, including cold beer and great people/​service.

I always make a trip to the Kountry Kastle when I come to Paducah. The beer is cold and cheap and the food is good. I always get the black angus cheeseburger or the ribeye sandwich.

From the outside, Kountry Kastle appears to be a massive tourist trap. But, when you enter, it is like a dark dive bar from the 1970’s. The ceilings are low, the beer is cheap, and you will see the bar area as soon as you enter. Sometimes there is a juke box blasting and FOX news on the TV, but sometimes it is completely silent and creepy.
The food here is resembles greasy stuff that a carnie would hand you out of a wobbly box at the county fair. Dipped in grease for a low price. The pulled pork is neutral and the sauce is runny and full of black pepper.
There are four different types of fries to choose from, their most popular being the cajun seasoned fries. The frosty mug rootbeer is not free refill. My Dad ordered the fried bologna sandwich, husband ordered the smoked sausage with peppers and onions. I had the pulled pork sandwich platter, the highlight being the baked beans. I was really not feeling the beans because they had too much bell pepper flavor to them, but they had the most flavor of everything on the platter.
I could actually see this being a place where kids would like to go for lunch because of the price and the kid-​like foods offered, other than the beer. Dirty food, done dirt cheap!

Heated Lamps in the outside smoking section, what more can you want smoking section and heated lamps. B-.
I originally gave this place 4 stars and an A+, but I just had to change it. I’m taking away a star because eating there just yesterday, it was turtle service all the way! I kept asking my dining comrades, «Where’s the food?» A couple of them even tried the ol’ trick, I’m going to the bathroom, and when I come back the food will be there, never worked. Won’t be eating there again anytime soon no matter how badly I crave those tater tot olé’s.
