One of those places that has higher prices paired with near-constant sales and specials.

I came in here searching for a birthday bulletin board set. The task would have been very simple if I were searching for a more juvenile theme, but I needed something I could hang-up at the senior center where I work. Thankfully I found a set that was a little more adult in appearance, as well as bulletin board paper, trimmer and accents. I found Lakeshore’s prices to be competitive compared to online prices. I even had part of the bulletin board set laminated for a whopping $.39/per sq. ft. I became a rewards member even though I’m not a teacher(maybe they offer this to everyone? Staff was very friendly and helpful; a big kudos to Karen for all of her assistance. Store was tidy and clean. Awesome parking lot, too. The store seems to offer lots of coupons, so that’s a perk; especially for big ticket items. Will definitely return in the future for more supplies!

This store is so fabulous. They have a huge variety of learning materials, and many are open and on display for you or your little one to try out. Today they had a water table open with some cups to scoop and pour into an activity funnel. There were fine motor magnetic puzzles, magnetic letters and magna tile blocks out, too. Just about every isle has a product open to look at. The cashiers are very helpful, and allow you to combine certain Lakeshore coupons. They also offer free seasonal crafts for children on Saturdays from 11−3pm. My daughter didn’t want to leave!

20% discount for checking in! Still quite pricey, though. However, they do have a lot of great sales and 15% off SELECT items for teachers. I can’t believe magnetic building toys for a class could be over $ 100! God bless my girlfriend who is a teacher… But I still enjoy buying her things from here :)

Two things I like about this place: –The laminator available for public use. I needed to laminate some things quickly, found out this store had a machine available, and rushed over. Easy! Loved it! It wasn’t too expensive either. This might be the only reason I return if I ever need something laminated again. –Lots of options. Oh my, when I walk in this store, I am bombarded with brightly colored books and puzzles and games and displays and toys and counting materials and resource books and on and on! Two things I don’t like about this place: –Too expensive. I just can’t afford to get things here. Teachers aren’t exactly earning a six-figure salary… –Honestly? Most of the stuff is kind of useless anyway. It’s great to come here to get ideas, but then you can go home and make a lot of the stuff on your own for so much cheaper with recycled materials.

Lakeshore has a ton of really cool teaching materials that my students love! I come here for inspiring idea on how to present new information on engaging ways. However, Lakeshore is fairly expensive and teachers do not make very much money. They do offer a teacher club card which gives teachers a discount everyday. I also come here to get laminating done that I cannot get done during the school day. For teachers, it only costs $ 0.29 a foot which is crazy cheap!

If you have kids, you will probably like this place. There are tons of learning materials here. A lot of them are almost indistinguishable from toys so my kids will spend a lot of time hanging out. On the weekends they have children’s books read by the authors, little magic shows and stuff. My kids made hand prints in clay and then painted it at a little table they had set up inside. I think one time they had a table with bubbles and other toys out front. One thing I did notice… even though this place has the selection you can usually find the same items cheaper if you shop around a bit.
