This Shell gas station usually is fully supplied with paper towels and squeegee fluid. I like this because I usually check my oil and transmission fluid every time I fill up. There once was a time I had an issue with one of the pumps, it continued to discharge fuel and did not have an automatic click off feature that was in working order. Luckily, While the fuel did not shut off completely, it did come out at a slower rate. In other words, the automatic click off mechanism wasn’t completely broken. Still if I wasn’t paying attention, fuel might have overflowed out onto my car. Beyond the above information, The gas station itself has easy in and out access, meaning that you do not get blocked in by cars surrounding you as you try to get out of the parking lot. It’s very spacious and offers vacuum, Car wash, and air for your tires all at a price of course.

There’s usually at least 2 pumps out of order but it’s well-​lit and open at all hours, unlike the gas station across the street.
Inside is actually pretty large and offers your standard gas station fare, but the thing I like most about this Shell is that beyond it being close to the highway, but far enough away that you don’t get charged higher prices, they give drivers plenty of room to maneuver around the pumps so you’re not caged in waiting for someone else to leave so you can in or out.
If you’re in Palatine and near the corner of Northwest Highway and Palatine Rd, this is decent place to gas up.
