Too much MSG! I want to frequent this place more if possible because I don’t like the food quality of Eunhasoo that much, but they put too much MSG in their food. I’ve tried everything from their soups to their side dishes and can definitely feel the effects of MSG every time. When you swing by, try to tell them to not put any, if not minimal amount of MSG in their food. If we all bring it up, perhaps they will change their recipe into a more healthier one.

I love all the banchan dishes at Korean restaurants and I was thrilled to find this place that sells them. Whenever I am nearby, I load up on korean goodies based on what I will reasonably be able to eat within a week. I really love this place.

While we don’t frequent banchan/​side-​dish/​catering places often, when we do go, we go to Jin Go Gae. They have the freshest and best variety among all of its competitors.
They even have fresh soondae in the back, so make sure to ask them to cut up a fresh one up for you! The banchan dishes are very fresh and you can also have them made-​to-​order. They have a good selection of rice cakes made there everyday, and their soups (be careful though, because the soup tops are open! Says it in Korean but not in English) are not the best, but for non-​home-​cooked food, it’s okay.
The staff has been replaced over the past several years which I’m not happy with — they used to be much more helpful. Now? not so much. That’s the reason for my taking off 1 star.

We used Jin Go Gae for our daughter’s Dol. All the food was exceptional. And they delivered for free into the Upper West Side of Manhattan. All the guests, Korean and non-​Korean, raved about how good the food was. My sister also used them for her son’s dol and they did a great job again.

They have a good selection on Korean side dishes and dessert rice cakes. The staff will help you with any questions if you ask, such as what’s inside some of the rice cakes there, etc. I don’t know half of what I got but it was good. I like how the desserts are not that sweet. It’s good if you need a little snack mid-​day.

The food quality is not comparable to Eun Ha Soo’s Catering about 20 feet away & their PM discount isn’t as good either. (theirs is only 20% while Eun Ha Soo is 30%).
I purchased a Korean variety pancake package (options were seafood, fish & vegetables). It was stale and dry and it definitely tasted like it was only a few minutes from going really bad.
Will I be going back? NO. I can save more money and eat better food from Eun Ha Soo Catering.
