delicious food. Hubby and i tried the spicy version and seafood(non-spicy) version of jajangmyun. Both were pretty good. Kimchi was really good. Friendly and gracious staff.

Foods are expensive but the foods are only half size than other Korean Chinese foods in Palisades Park. Never ever going back to this place again and never recommend to anyone!!!

(A 2 star rating is average taking price into consideration.) The food is so-so. If I knew a better jja-jang-myun I would happily go elsewhere. The fried food has too much batter with no real taste that is a hallmark sign of cheap food. And deep fried dumplings also a sign of low end quality. Crunchy is fine if you like the texture. Crunchy for the sake of hiding taste is just cheap.(Some might consider this a style, but it’s street food style in that case. There is little to it other than making a profit and making it easy to cook. Nevertheless, it is the best place for jja-jang-myun in the area that I have found.

BESTJJAJANGMYUNINTOWN! I had the Uni? Jjajang there. It’s a bit spicy, but it’s the best I’ve ever had! Noodles are VERY soft. I had Sweet and Sour Pork as well, which was delicious as well! Definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try jjajangmyun!

My husband left an envelope of money at this restaurant. After calling the restaurant, one of the ladies searched through a huge pile of trash in search of this envelope. She called me backed half and hour later telling me she found the envelope. Not all the workers are rude. This worker was so kind hearted. And of course the food is always spot on! I’ve been coming here for almost 10 years now. There must be a reason why I keep going :)

This is the only place i’ve tried jiajiang myun in the area so I really can’t compare. I got an order of the spicy(yuni) jiajiang. It’s not very spicy at all. Reading some of these reviews I was expecting it to be really hot. It just had a bit of kick. Nothing crazy. The noodles were pretty good. The sauce was a bit strong. Could have had more meat it in as well. Overall it’s a solid place.

I only ever come here for the same thing: the jja jjang myun with spicy chili oil. It’s the best I’ve had since leaving my favorite jja jjang myun place in my hometown, at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Austin. They always have my jja jjang myun fix here! If for nothing else, come here for the noodles. You won’t regret it! The service isn’t the fastest, even when the only patrons of the restaurant, but this isn’t a place I’d come and go in a hurry anyways. Take your time here with friends when you feel like treating that noodle itch! Sidebar: the egg rolls were odd. Just, very odd. The selection of vegetables inside were confusingly bland and seemed lost. Would not recommend those.

I’ve been a long customer of this place but service gets worst every time. Went for lunch and hot & sour soup which came with dish was extremely salty. So I asked the waitress if they can change the soup to different one. Waitress takes the soup, goes to the back where other waitress are standing and says«Hot & Sour soup is supposed to be salty. What does he wants me to do?» What the heck? I asked if it can be changed. I din’t beg for free soup! She has no decency to say this in front of my face and she has to announce to rest of the people in the restaurant? Feeling extremely uncomfortable, I called her and told her she can throw the soup away. This places is known be very stingy on their ingredients. You will see minimal seafood in Champong(Spicy seafood noodle soup) than other restaurants. They will never give you side Champong soup(many other similar restaurants will) no matter how much you order. I do admit some foods are ok but don’t expect to make any suggestion in this place. Waitress is a back stabbing bad mouth bitxch.

Best Chinese Korean in NJ! Been to most of the Chinese Korean restaurants in NJ and we always end of coming back to this one. Their Jjajangmyon and beef fried rice is very good and consistent. All the servers are very attentive and nice! My husband and I go here every week. We have a child so we always order before getting there and the food comes out right when we arrive so we can eat quick and leave.

Firstly, I want to say my opinions about Korean food are reflective more of authentic Korean rather than fusion Asian as I was born there and raised there. The menu here has high-end Korean-Chinese food(like Shark’s Fins, etc.) but also has the typical jja-jang myun and jjam-bbong. My husband and I tried both as well as the tang-soo-yook(fried pork with sweet/sour sauce). We both care a lot about the texture of the noodles, which is the main ingredient in Korean-Chinese dishes. The noodles were excellent. My husband’s typical – jja-jang-myun – was quite delish. The sauce contained good-sized veggies and meat. Many other places can slice them so small that it’s hard to eat them, but they aren’t stingy with their ingredients. Also, the flavor was quite authentic. Even though jja-jang-myun is not my go-to Korean-Chinese dish, I would heartily recommend it if you’re looking for some authentic Korean-Chinese food. My 3-star is mainly due to the poor quality of the jjam-ppong, which is what I ALWAYS get in all Korean-Chinese restaurants. The soup itself is not authentic ATALL. It contains those small, really hot, dried peppers that you find in Chinese restaurants, NOT in Korean-Chinese restaurants. So that set me off right off the bat. When I tasted the soup, I was even more disappointed, because the flavor resembled, again, something Chinese, not Korean-Chinese. I don’t know what they use in it, but it might be the oil or some kind of fish sauce that Koreans don’t use to flavor their jjam-ppong. Terribly disappointed, also considering the price, which was something like $ 12. They’re usually $ 10 in other places. The tang-soo-yook was good. Good quality. My digestive system reacts to bad oil, but it didn’t here, so I guess they use fresh oil to fry the meat. I was a disappointed they didn’t offer an appetizer portion of it, so when my husband and I go, we can only get tang-soo-yook and either jjam-ppong or jja-jang whereas in other places like Joong Hwa Ru on Bergen Blvd, we can get both. Bottom line: not cheap food, get jja-jang-myun if you go here, but NEVER jjam-ppong.

I don’t crave jjajangmyun often but when I do, Te Min Quan is my go to spot. I’ve been to a couple of different jjajangmyun restaurants around the area like Son Ja Jang, Mandarin Restaurant, Ah Roo Rang and Dong Chun hong before making a commitment to Te Min Quan. No other restaurant can quite satisfy my craving like they do! I usually start off by ordering the baby shrimp kampoongi which is fried baby shrimp then covered in sweet and spicy garlic sauce #musttry. This is a nice dish to share as an appetizer before your main course. My favorite is their yuni jjajang which is the spicier version of their regular jjajangmyun. Unlike the regular jjajangmyun that comes with the sauce on top of the noodles, yuni jjajang comes with the sauce on the side for those who cannot handle the full heat. However, as a huge fan of spicy meals, I’d prefer the sauce to be a bit spicier. I also like yuni jjajang way better than the regular jjajangmyun because the sauce isn’t chunky. All the ingredients are finely diced and mixed into the sauce, just the way I like it! Sometimes, I like to switch it up and order the yuni bokembahp which is just the yuni sauce over fried rice! Overall, the portions are generous and an A+ for never having to ask for a refill on water!

Great food(5 stars) + horrible, unprofessional service(1 star) = 3 star! The dishes themselves are very tasty. I enjoyed all of the four staple Korean-Chinese dishes: 1) Tangsooyuk 2) Kkangpoongki 3) Jjajangmyun(specifically the spicy one — Yooni Jjajang) 4) Jjambbong However, I dock off points for poor service. It seems that if you are an older adult(aka ahjusshi or ahjoomah), then you’ll get quick, attentive service and the typical brown-nosing reserved for that customer demographic. If you are younger or don’t look full-blown Korean, they take their time and don’t respect you. One time, I even had a waitress ask me point-blank if I was Chinese, to which I replied«no» in Korean. After that, she was a bit more attentive. Overall, the servers(specifically the waitresses) are very superficial, discriminating, and you can even hear them gossip about other people.

After several disappointing meals at diluted Chinese-Korean restaurants in North Jersey namely, Son Jajang, Dong Chun Hong, Dong Bo Sung, etc etc which I have also reviewed, a colleague suggested I try this place and I have eaten here several times since then. Te Min Quan has by far the best original Jajangmyun in North Jersey. Other restaurants have gone the millenial fusion dilution route, have devolved many Chinese-Korean dishes to generic, bland and overly sweet style of preparation. The menu here is not limited to the basic staple Chinese-Korean, they also serve many Chinese-American dishes and do it very well. I have tried their regular jajang(aka Noodles with Mandarin Sauce), Gan Jajang(with seafood) and Yuni Jajang which is the spicy version of their regular jajang. The gan jajang has seafood, ie chopped squid, alot of thick cut diced white onions, and the sauce is crunchy. The regular and yuni jajang have ingredients that are diced more finely. I prefer to order the yuni, it is spicy but you should be able to handle it as long as you were not some kind of kid who grew up in a plastic bubble. What differentiates this place is it reminds me of the really great jajangmyun restaurants from years ago when it was run by Chinese owners and cooked to order by Chinese chefs flipping flaming woks instead of recent Korean run joints employing illegals in the kitchen ladling from the generic big tub of sauce. The noodles here are vastly superior to the other local restaurants, sorry but the Chinese know how to make noodles much better than Koreans(or Mexicans, as the case may be.) The noodles are the correct texture, soft yet chewy and elastic unlike other places which taste like you’re eating strings of spongy rice cake. Not only that, the fried entrees are done better here. Sorry, but the Chinese also know how to fry dishes better, esp Tangsooyook. Everything is legit, no mutated Chinese-Korean here, just original authentic cuisine that is true to it’s origin. Other notable dishes: Tangsooyook, which is sweet and sour fried beef, Kanpoongi, chunks of fried chicken with garlic sauce and chili, Gochu Japchae, shredded beef in green peppers(spicy) which comes with steamed buns(called Chinese bread here that you should order extra) that you stuff the beef into, Hot bean curd(basically mapotofu), Dried Sauteed Beef Szechuan style, Shredded Pork in Peking Sauce. Service is friendly, they speak both English and Korean. A little overpriced, but how often do you eat jajangmyun and tangsooyook, like once a month? Not a big deal. Highly recommended.

Don’t see what all the fuss is about — feels overrated to me. GOOD: — Really good service. They were prompt refilling our appetizers(just like 2 different types of radish) and the restaurant is clean. — Their jiajangmyun is pretty good and well priced at $ 8. Sauce was yummy and noodles were perfect texture. Maybe it’s the chinese in me but I like to put vinegar in my noodles. They don’t have the black vinegar Chinese people use, but I used their white vinegar they provide and it was alright. BAD: — Spicy jiajangmyun was barely spicey at all — What’s all the rave about tangsooyook?! At $ 24, this was a hefty price for what tasted like tempura fried beef. Even though the portion was good, the sauce was weird and beef was soggy. We all basically ate it just to eat our money.

Ah, so good to be back and(sort of) close to good Korean food! The first time I came, I didn’t realize they have a second half of the restaurant through the side. It’s good for large families/groups if you’re interested. Anyway, on to the food. I love me some jjajangmyun and Te Min Quan hits the spot! I was kind of nervous to try the yooni jjajang because some reviews say it’s too spicy. Hubby found it to be a too spicy… On a scale of spicy, I have Korean friends who can eat painful spicy and my husband can take spicy but his tolerance is lower than most. I must be in the middle because actually, it was the perfect amount of spice for me! Yes, I might be drinking a lot of water but it’s not that too painful to eat kind of spicy, it’s the kind that just makes you want to eat more. The tangsooyook was really good too, they put the sauce in a bowl so it stays nice and crispy. I have no idea how the other food is but I have no intention on trying it. I can’t imagine ever getting anything but jjajangmyun so I will definitely be back. :)

Recommended by my sister’s friend and glad we tried it. Despite the fact this restaurant is smack in the middle of Palisades Park, I would not have thought they made such good jjajangmyun because it looks like a strictly Chinese place, based on signage. We ordered the large bowls of jjajangmyun, mine spicy and my sister not spicy since she was sharing with her daughter. The bowls were huge and quite frankly, we could have split one between the three of us. The spicy is EXTREMELY spicy and this girl likes it hot. It is almost uncomfortably spicy but since I was getting over a sinus issue, the heat helped. I will opt for non spicy next time. There could have been a little more meat in the sauce but overall, the texture was good. We also got the pork tong su yook(sp?) and it was also quite delicious and another huge portion. As an appetizer, we got the fried dumplings and asked for the spicy dipping sauce(you need to ask). Also, quite good. I liked that all the dishes came out with sauce on the side and you could have it poured at the table or pour yourself. Portions were very large. Service was very attentive. We packed at least half of our noodles and some of the pork and dumplings. My jjajangmyun leftovers lasted for two meals. We drank tea. Everything came to about $ 58 before tip. I will go back again, especially since I know there is parking in back during non bank hours. The new meters on Broad Street are a bit of a pain. Tip: You cannot replenish your parking meter until you move your car and re-trip the camera on the(new) meters. I had to ask the meter man about this as he was giving out copious amounts of tickets. The new meters are designed to not let you park long term.

Why would you change something that isn’t broken… and actually is great? Their Yooni Jjajangmyun(spicy JJM) is different now. It is WAY too spicy. Not sure why they decided to make it spicier but it’s too spicy to the point of no longer tasting good. Sad. Also, they’ve raised the prices on all their appetizers like Kkangpoongee and Tangsookyook. Those dishes are worth getting at $ 13 – 18, but not when they cost over $ 20. I’m stubborn so I’m boycotting this place until they bring back the OG Yooni JJM.
