Public Storage

Although as most of the other reviews indicate, Dolly and Chris are very knowledgeable and helpful. However, it is beyond me why new customers are told, at this location anyways, that it is «MANDATORY» that you purchase a «PUBLIC STORAGE LOCK,» which is ridiculously overpriced, to secure your storage unit. Although, WHO NEEDS A LOCK when your payment is a bit late, and Public Storage takes it upon themselves to EMPTY your storage unit almost an entire month before it is even scheduled for Public Auction because «they felt the items were only worth $ 50 at Auction and they were considered trash to them». (WHY, of course, because they were taking up a unit that they could rent to someone else — ILLEGAL!!!) Let it be known that the items in the storage unit (although maybe only 6 items or so) were purchased just last year were worth well over $ 3,000. Oh yeah, and don’t think that the «mandatory insurance» they have you buy will cover the loss that was caused by Public Storage. Oh, NO, that’s not covered. While the District/​Regional Manager TOTALLY ADMITTED the error, and has attempted to be helpful, the Corporate Office of Public Storage is holding my daughter over the fire and they are only willing to pay ¼ of the actual loss because, of course, she doesn’t have the receipts because they were in the storage unit. HOW IRONIC. Public Storage attempts to cover its butt and takes pictures of the items that were removed from the unit and SUPPOSEDLY taken to the dump. I guess I can thank them for one thing, at least the pictures show at least some of the items that were stolen by Public Storage, even though she had that «MANDATORY PUBLIC STORAGE LOCK.» Thank goodness we had that on there. LOL How can this possibly be the way a company such as Public Storage treats their customers. Our family has been renting from them for years and years. I guess they take a gamble and hope you don’t spend the money to file a lawsuit against them. Not this girl, WE WILL SEE YOU IN COURT. This will be a good case for others to use should you end up in the same situation. Hard working people, getting taken advantage of. IT’S A TOTAL SHAME. SHAME ON YOU PUBLIC STORAGE!!!
