Regal, historic, elegant are all words to describe the majestic beauty of HMF at the Breakers. If you want a nice night out with friends or on a date, then this is where you go. I know some people will balk because it’s $ 30 for valet — UNLESS you spend $ 30 at HMF, which in that case the valet is free upon ticket validation. But think about this… The food is delicious no matter what you order. The service is great. The interior is gorgeous being that this is inside the Breakers — the building has been around for well over a century. It’s a nice restaurant to go every once and a while for a treat — expensive but worth it.

We love the atmosphere and the beauty of this place, but the pleasure is offset by the predominance of paid escorts and terrible service. The tip is included in the check so there is no incentive for anyone to wait on you once they have your credit card. One must beg for service and they might possibly condescend to serve you. We were part of a birthday party for a friend and were pushed out the door once the guest of honor left. The staff was rude and made it clear that once the important guests left we needed to leave. Disappointing for a five star establishment and not worth the money.

Came here for a couple drinks late night, was served by young girl named Caitlin behind the bar. Her service was impeccable and very much so satisfying. Very attentive and meticulous despite volume. Food was very well presented and very tasty. Our cocktails were quite tasty and well presented as well as garnished.

You know I love old world charm and love everything about The Breakers. Rolling up in my car, along the perfect landscape. I am transported to my favorite era the 1920’s… My favorite book… The Great Gatsby. HMF intermingles an ultra modern gathering place in a vintage inspired atmosphere. This is no passing thought as every possible attention detail is unmistakable. From the designer uniforms, the perfectly coifed hair styles and abundance of everything lavish, decadent and exquisite. Drinks were fabulous. Really dig their signature drinks and for dessert. Oh my. Dessert tapas anyone? Yes. Don’t miss their baked Alaska! There is I dance floor here. As its z mingling place. But it is not uncommon for dancing in the aisles, This place gets Jammin. And lines are lengthy. No reservations. Plenty of seating. I just loved sipping my cocktail while admiring the original 17 the century tapestries. Amazing.

This is my favorite bar in Florida. Food is devine, drinks are sublime & the atmosphere is perfect. Even the background music is heavenly. Very classy joint. Gives the feel of an elegant, prohibition speakeasy. It’s a feast for all the senses. Just don’t get sticker shock when the check comes, worth every penny though.

Came here for pre-birthday drinks/dessert based on a friend’s recommendation. The place just oozes class and made us feel oh so fancy. Valet parking is free if you get it validated by the host(ess); otherwise it’s $ 30. We opted to sit at the bar since we weren’t getting much and wouldn’t have to wait. Both bars were open — one seemed a LOT more crowded for some reason, so we went to the other one which was the sushi station. We were promptly greeted by a server, who provided excellent service throughout the night. I got the Chanel #6, he got the New York Sour, and we shared a baked alaska. Both drinks were made well and not too sweet, but nothing to write home about. The baked alaska, filled with a thin bottom layer of red velvet and neapolitan ice cream, was just ok. The passion fruit(?) drizzle was delicious, tart, and offered a nice contrast to all the sweetness on the plate. We both enjoyed the jazz music until it became«clubby» as the night went on, aka our cue to leave. Overall, the ambience is phenomenal until the transition into a nightclub feel which brings rowdy patrons with it. Not sure if we’ll be back, but I think it’s worth going at least once.

Stayed at the Breakers for one night while in wellington for the horse show. Was supposed to stay the weekend but checked out early due to historical service issues I have had with the hotel(the pool service, the front desk, etc.) The issue with HMF is not the food — it’s excellent. The menu is expansive lots of great options from sushi to sliders to lamb all very good. The issue I have continually had with HMF is the seating /hostess process in terms of actually being seated even though you are staying at the hotel. The hostesses are not well trained to handle guests — I felt like I was 25 years old waiting in line to get into a club. I understand that HMF is busy — but the lack of coordination by the hostesses and front staff results in confusion, long waits and other issues while you wait to see if «you will be blessed» with a table at the hotel you are staying in. Frankly I would like to say this was an isolated incident at HMF — but has happened several times over the last 3 years that I have stayed at the hotel. Very unfortunate as I have had zero issues with the food — it’s great!

This is a great place for a group outing. The room is classy old-world decadence, comfortable loungey seating, cathedral-like coffered ceilings, cool lighting and interior windows, lots of details everywhere. They just don’t make places or rooms like this anymore. There’s a pounding Euro-dance beat in the background that pulsates and energizes the crowd. And what a crowd it is; on the Saturday night in February that we went it was literally overflowing with beautiful people having a rousing, raucous good time. It’s really fun, fun, fun. Our group of 6 showed up without reservation(none are taken, though somehow some people had them) and waited about 1 hour to be seated inside the main dining area. In the course of waiting we managed to flag down a waitress and get some drinks; our poor experience while waiting for a table was frustrating, hence not a 5 star review. Our frustrations disappeared instantly when we were seated. Cocktails were tasty and there’s a large wine list with a real sommelier, something unexpected in a place with this kind of vibe. Our first bottle, offered to us at a discount because it was one of the few left, was a 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon from Spain — alas, it was definitely past its prime and so it was whisked away and did not show up on our bill. With the sommelier’s assistance, we picked a Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Very good and very good with our food! We tried multiple items and without exception they were all very tasty. The menu is upscale, modern and International, surely a nod to the clientele. It’s amazing actually that a place this large, serving so many people, can execute food so well. We had Asian food — Korean short ribs, roast duck bao. Italian — orecchiette with sausage and mushrooms, salumi pizzete, lobster gargenelli. Seafood — wood roasted Chilean sea bass. Argentine — churrasco steak chimichurri. Vegetarian — blistered shishito peppers, brussels sprout Caesar salad. Desserts — pumpkin praline bread pudding, chocolate torte. Ok, this place is not cheap. But for a luxe good time, it’s definitely worth it.

I’m definitely a fan of this place — the food is excellent and their champagne cocktail is my favorite. I also like how they include the service charge in the bill and they tell you. I would have put four and a half stars because the service is not always consistent and professional for a hotel of this caliber. I’ve been there enough times to form this opinion. Plus, by now they should know their frequent customers.

Love this place. Great drinks, great staff, fab ambience. A favorite spot. It’s considered«expensive,» but I’d say worth it in every way. You can never pay too much for an outstanding, positive experience, when out for an enjoyable time. In NYC terms, the cost of a drink is average. The drinks are first rate. The place reminds me of the smaller, darker, Campbell Apartment at Grand Central, Midtown. Lovely, but here, the beach and awesome weather are only a few steps away.

Great upscale lounge, great atmosphere and even better cocktails! I came here with my family and our family friends ended up coming to meet us later on that night for drinks. We sat down in the main dining area by the bar, but had to wait a good 45 minutes for a table(during Christmas/New Years, so this was to be expected) There was not a seat to be had! The only thing that I did not like about HMF was their front desk staff. They were not the friendliest and not very well trained. I may have high expectations since being in the restaurant business myself for 5.5 years, but our service following being seated made up for the lack of customer service from the front of the house… anyway, very relaxing! Our waitress was extremely nice, knowledgeable about the cocktails and even gave us recommendations since it was our first time there. She wasn’t overbearing either, which was nice. I had the Margarita… this was just ordinary tasting… like any kind of margarita you would get elsewhere, but a good mix between the agave nectar, lime juice and tequila. My father had«The Redhead» which was delicious! I noticed that this was their most popular cocktail, as our server said it was and so many people were ordering it that night. It’s a martini made of Lemon Vodka, Blood Orange Liquor, Lime and Cranberry Juice… excellent choice! My sister ordered«The Floozy» which happened to have been better than my margarita… it’s a tequila based cocktail mixed with fresh ginger, jalapeños, and lime. My mother ordered The French Martini, but did not like hers… she ended up getting the Floozy after trying my sisters, so that too was a favorite as well! We had a heavy lunch that day, so we decided to order two appetizers for the table to compliment our cocktails. We ordered a Spicy Shrimp Sushi Roll. that was just OK… and we also ordered a mushroom flatbread. I wouldn’t go there for the food alone… but definitely try their drinks! Someone next to us ordered dessert(we were too full after to order anything else)…they got the baked alaska, which looked amazing! and HUGE!

Such a great atmosphere here. The hotel is beautiful and the food it great. It’s more of a tapas style restaurant so definitely fun with a group when you can order lots of different things to share. Also great for a date night and getting dressed up.

The food and service were pretty good. With that being said– If you’re looking for someplace to «be seen” — then this is the place for you. If you want to spend $ 700 for a party of 6 without drinks– this is certainly the place for you. If you don’t believe this review, then go and«be seen» and enjoy yourself. If you want to share the check with friends who have never been there, and are okay with your friends hating you, then this is the place for you. If you are superficial and want to be around other posers, then this is most definitely the place for you. I fully realize that this is The Breakers, and understand all of that, but I have been to many restaurants and had amazing meals without spending a small fortune. Thanks for reading. Now go be seen. If you don’t believe the dollar amount above– go see for yourself. Make sure that you don your white pants, blue Testoni shoes, yellow socks, Brioni pink shirt and Kiton plaid sports jacket, — they’ll be waiting for you. I promise.

We went to HMF on Saturday 4th of July. As we entered the dining room there was not a single person in the restaurant except us! I guess being in the dining room on 4th of July probably was not the best location that night to be in.. The food was very good! The drinks were excellent! I am sure that the atmosphere will be better next time! They really need to keep an eye on the lobby bathrooms though. There was toilet paper all over the floor and also paper towels on the sink. Definitely not up to the Breakers standards! Just sayin…

Amazing!!! The HMF roll is my go to at this place, but everything I have had is great including the cheese plate. We had sliders and other small tapas plates with a group of three. The drink are always on point at the Breakers along with the environment that you are in. You can always come here and enjoy great conversation with friends. I always take some of my friends and family when they come visit. Even though I live in palm beach I always feel like a guest when I come here. Thank you!

Great room, awesome wine selection, great staff(even with a big table of us). This place is great all around. We tried several things on the menu, they were expensive and small, but that’s to be expected. WIsh I were more hungry when I came here, but I would reccomend and come back.

My wife has been to The Breakers more than I had(this was my first visit), so I figured I’d follow her lead on the food we had at our night here. HMF is inside the main Breakers building, so you have high ceilings, low lighting, and very grandiose, classy feel. I was definitely underdressed in my ‘resort’ wear; while I got away with it, I think that having some kind of collared shirt seems to be the norm for the guys, as well as pants(although I saw a few with shorts). Service was very solid, with a personable waitress and our food being brought out relatively quickly; I would have preferred for the dishes to be brought out in intervals so that one could soak in the atmosphere a bit before diving into the next course. One note off the bat — the prices are high here, even to someone like myself who lives in Manhattan and is relatively immune to sticker shock by now. To see a healthy number of the items having a high-teen or $ 20-handle was a bit of a surprise, especially since I am used to restaurants outside of the big coastal cities(NYC, SF, LA, for example) being a bit cheaper. $ 15 cocktails actually seemed more reasonable, and I was pleased with how both of my drinks were expertly prepared, balancing the subtleties of the liquor and the mixers without either being overpowering. As for the food, I was pleasantly surprised — the menu is an eclectic mix, which made me feel like there’d be a ‘jack of all trades’ treatment of the food without anything standing out, but I was(gladly) wrong. We started out with the old-school steak tartare, which was well-executed, with the meat finally chopped up and marinated with a slightly salty vinaigrette. There was a bit of crunch as well(from quinoa, perhaps) that gave it a nice texture as well. Next up was the fennel sausage and mushroom flatbread, and this was probably my favorite dish of the night. The sausage was full of that earthy, herbal fennel taste and was plenty hearty, and the mushroom helped accentuate the earthiness without overpowering the cheese or the crust. I’m usually a bit wary of flatbreads or anything pizza-like outside of NYC, but this was well-done. Our last bite were the duck bao buns which, while not as good as the duck buns you’d get at an authentic Chinese spot, were still tastefully done. We ended with a baked Alaska, which I think is just a dessert I will never gets used to because it’s so hard to execute the pouring of the booze without ending up taking bites that taste like vodka-soaked cake. While the ice cream portion of the baked Alaska was great, the spongy cake at the bottom was basically the receptacle for the vodka poured over the top… I probably got a good buzz just from eating that alone. In all, HMF is a fine choice if you choose to eat at The Breakers, with a wide variety of plates and cocktails that will make for a good meal. Even though I felt a bit out of place, it’s got a very casual feel overall, and with low lounge chairs to dine in, it is a very comfortable spot to partake in a bite at.

*pinkies up everyone*…You have arrived at The Breakers thrillingly glamorous drinking and dining retreat which is an ode to the golden era of Palm Beach, with all of its high style and unapologetic decadence. HMF which is named for The Breakers’ founding father, Henry Morrison Flagler, is the resort’s showcase lobby bar for the Palm Beach socialite crowd. Close your eyes and you’ll swear that you’ve been transported back onto the set of The Great Gatsby. If you look closely you might just see Leonardo diCaprio sauntering over to the polished wooden bar in his white suit. Yeah… it’s that kind of place. HMF restores the social rituals of «cocktail culture» into a lively, high-style atmosphere. Their extensive menu features an innovative take on sharing plates representing a variety of authentic, globally-inspired cuisines, incorporating organic and locally sourced items; handcrafted, rave-worthy cocktails ranging from the vintage to the experimental; and an award-winning, 40-plus page wine list with more than 1,600 varietals from around the globe I did my best Palm Beach swagger as I entered what used to be known as the Florentine Room, and then stopped dead in my tracks. Holy Wow, this place is sheer elegance, and I suddenly felt out of place among the Palm Beach socialites, gold-diggers, cougars on the prowl, and more plastic surgery than the eye could behold. I wandered up to the mahogany bar and immediately caught the eye of one of the bartenders who was dressed in her custom-tailored staff tuxedo outfit. She asked my name and where I was from before taking my drink order. I so desperately wanted to say, «Bond…James Bond». Yeah… it’s that kind of place. She asked for my cocktail preference, and I requested a bourbon Old Fashioned, and please skip the fruit on a stick. She grinned and set about to work. The Old Fashioned is, essentially, two slugs of bourbon sweetened with sugar and balanced with bitters. This lady was a clearly a master mixologist. She said that since I was from Tampa she was recommending«Rough Rider» single bourbon whiskey, and proceeded to tell me about the brand. I was captivated! Meanwhile she reached for an old-fashioned glass, and placed a sugar cube in the bottom. Then came 3 dashes of house-special bitters on top of the sugar cube, and a tiny splash of distilled water. She muddled the sugar cube, using the back of a teaspoon, and then added one large, perfectly clear, rounded ice cube, and poured in the bourbon. She garnished the drink by floating an orange peel on top and set the glass in front of me. I was totally in awe, and tipped her generously as I looked around. I had just finished an amazing steak dinner down the road, but was intrigued by the delicious offerings on their menu. HMF was serving warm onion and reggiano dip, with house-made fingerling chips; wood-roasted asparagus and burrata; orecchiette, duck sausage and wild mushrooms; churrasco steak chimichurri; lamb meatballs, Spanish mole, wood-roasted peppers; chicken albondigas tacos, and sushi galore! There was even a completely separate dessert menu for those with a sweet tooth.(Although there seemed to be enough sugar daddies at the bar to keep the crowd happy.) HMF also has a 28,000-bottle wine collection from around the world, along with a full spectrum of craft beers, and a premium collection of cigars, housed in a custom-designed humidor of clear glass with ribbon mahogany, which were available to enjoy just outside HMF in the Mediterranean Courtyard or on the seawall while enjoying ocean breezes. Where is Mark H. when I need him??? I only stayed for one drink, but I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at HMF before boarding the elevator back to my room. «Home, James…»

Good quality food. Great ambiance. Upscale lounge not surprising it’s Palm Beach. Everything we ate was classy and tasty. Impressive appetizers, we shared a specialty sushi roll which at first we were hesitant to order because it didn’t seem like a place you should order a Japanese dish from and definitely not a sushi roll. To our surprise everything was a hit. The cookie and toffee desert is large. Be warned. Just share it. I’m still eating mine after having lunch today at a different restaurant. Memorable!!!
