Food is pretty okay. We have been here many times but the service always sucks! Super slow. We always wait at lease 20 mins before server come and greets us. Ask for our check and it took 25min even when they are slow.

This is a family place, not a fancy place. We have been pleased with the food and especially the service the two times we’ve been here.

Been there many times, atmosphere is great and the staff are always friendly. The food however is getting poor, rubbery wings and fries seemed microwaved, they once had the best wings in town now they need a menu makeover. I’m not happy about leaving a poor review because I’ve loved this place for years but the last two visits have been well below average.

Highjackers is located at the Flagler Executive Airport. The view, if any, is limited to student pilots bouncing around the runways. The menu is a typical sports bar fare of burgers, salads, and entrees with flying categories like Taxi Out, Crop Duster, Coach, First Class and Main Flight. Thursday night was busy probably due to the $ 10/lb spicy shrimp and domestic bottled beer specials. The server arrived with menus quickly enough and took our drink orders, but the beers didn’t arrive for 10 minutes. Food was ordered after the drinks arrived not in the beginning. The beer, however, was served at a balmy 56.7 degrees, although it was placed in a bucket of ice. Another 10 minute wait for the beers to become cold enough. My partner thought the beers were«skunky tasting». I am always appalled when a bar or restaurant serves warm domestic bottled beer. This alone will cause me never to return. I picked the Spicy Shrimp($ 10/lb special), fries & corn fritters($ 3), while my partner chose the loaded nachos($ 9). The shrimp were served hot with pre-packaged melted butter and cocktail sauce. The shrimp were previously frozen and about a quarter of them had soft, thin shells, meaning they sat defrosting for too long. Mediocre at best. The pre-packaged cocktail sauce is the deal breaker here. Any chef worth their salt can make a decent cocktail sauce. The fries were hot and crispy but did not reach the top of the two-inch high basket, nor did they spread out to the edges. I couldn’t tell if the fritters were corn or a bad attempt at hush puppies. Luckily only 2 fritters were included. My suggestion is to drop the ill-made fritters and add more fries. The loaded nachos were the star of the meal. Loaded up with cheese, jalapenos, black beans, and salsa throughout the chips, not just dumped across the top. The chips were a mix of blue, red, and yellow and quite crispy. My partner cleaned his plate. The wait for drinks and obvious disregard for beer temperature is unforgivable. The cornerstone of any establishment that serves alcohol is proper service. If you can’t serve alcohol correctly other items will suffer and, sadly, they did.

Horrible service — and I mean horrible! No food after 90 minutes. Waitress was awful and manager was worse. We opted to leave and will never go back.

Stopped in before an event across the street at the high school auditorium. It was packed. Everyone was friendly, including the patrons. Someone said it was like a NASCAR after party. Haha. We’re not NASCAR fans but that was part of the charm. We had the best nachos ever and a couple of draft beers. It was a great experience.

I try to come here whenever I’m in the area, which is not very often. Everything I’ve tried has been good. They have really good homemade chips and the beer and cheese soup is worth stopping in for, even if you’re not hungry. They serve huge re-fillable soft-drinks. The best thing about this place is the atmosphere. While the inside is interesting enough, it’s the outside that’s a real treat. If you are here on a nice sunny day, you can watch planes taking off and landing while you eat.

. The burger was good. The«gyro» special, should it reappear, is to be avoided; it isn’t a gyro. The server didn’t know what beers were on tap. We left with the feeling that they didn’t appreciate our business or care if we ever returned. Unless you’re stuck at the airport without transportation, drive to Flagler Beach.

I like their food sometimes, but I’ve heard some horror stories from former employees. I also just get the vibe that things in the kitchen might not be very sanitary.

We really enjoyed this place. I’ve been going here everytime I go to Flagler(since about 2003). My husband now loves airplanes and enjoyed viewing them while we ate lunch. On the weekends I was told they have a live band that performs out back and they have built on a playground area for little ones. The staff is really friendly and helpful. We went for lunch(you can get the dinner specials for a smaller portion and price). We had the Mahi Mahi blackened and the Coconut Shrimp. Hands down, my foodie husband and myself agree that this is the best Coconut Shrimp we have ever had. They serve it with a raspberry glaze which adds a nice compliment to the coconut taste. Their black beans and rice was also amazing. We live in San Antonio so the bar was high… and it passed. The Mahi was good too but next time I’ll get it seared. There were alot of business men in there that looked like they were ordering burgers. They also have a decent beer selection. Ginger is super nice as with all the waitstaff. We will be back the next time we go to Flagler.

I HAD to try this restaurant when we landed at this airport, I thought dang the name is awesome and boy do they have guts to name it that! I figured they must have named it before the events on September 11th, which it turns out they did, just a month before! Apparently they thought about switching the name afterwords, but decided to continue on and I’m glad they did. It had a very camp cafeteria feel and service was ok. The food was typical bar food and pretty blah. My boyfriend’s sandwich I could have made better myself at home. The spinach and artichoke dip was good, though! Fun beer, license plate and aviation themed décor.

Usually I’m past security when drinking at an airport. but this little café and bar is actually a sweet hangout right at the local small little airport in Flagler County. They have basic fare. wraps, burgers, wings, nice soups– and delicious king crab legs! The bar is cheap and the service is fast. Ashley is the best waitress! She’s so talented, friendly and smart! It’s really cool when the staff cares about the guests– and embraces the establishment.

The menu promises more than it delivers. Good variety of beers on tap.
