Stopped in for lunch, the salmon burger was delicious and the new waitress Jasmine was very attentive on her first day. The general manger made sure to stop by and make sure that we were happy. I would definitely stop back here again

I will keep this short. Good value, decent food quality(you don’t go to Elephant Bar with gourmet expectatuons, after all!) and just terrible service. This is becoming quite common and we notice it because, given a choice we like to eat in the bar. And they’re invariably understaffed. Nice enough servers but not enough of them to service the dining room servers take care of the customers sitting at the bar and also wait on tables in the bar area. I am the easiest 20%, tip on the planet and tonight’s 12%is a reflection of having to ask 4 times before getting a glass of water, not getting plates for our shared appetizers, sitting with empty glasses everywhere and waiting 20 minutes just to see someone to ask for the check. Ridiculous.

This is my second time coming to elephant bar. I got the California fruit salad the first time and I didn’t really care for it. The mix with honey just didn’t hit my taste buds the right way. Second time I had to wait 10 minutes to order to go at the bar, a girl sat by me and the waiter went over and helped her but continued to ignore me until the other bartender came and asked if he got my order. I got the Thai chicken salad, no lettuce sub rice and it was good! The chicken potstickers on the other hand tasted like they were microwaved. Boo! The girl on the side of me orders a raspberry lemon drop and had to stir the drink herself, the people next to her I don’t think know any other word but«bitch» or the f word. Very unpleasant to hear while trying to enjoy my food. I might give this place one more shot considering it’s 9:30 and a Thursday but not a fan so far. Gonna maybe try the ahi that everyone’s talking about. Still… No water cup.

First of all let me say I love Elephant Bar but this location made me «madder than a wet hen» last Saturday. The 3 hostesses were too busy talking among themselves to care about seating customers. There were a large number of customers waiting for tables(while I counted 7 empty tables) and they seemed to care less. I asked about a table on the patio but they said they«might» have a large party coming and they would let me know. They continued talking amoung themselves and made no effort to seat anyone. We left without being seated with 7 empty tables and only 1 table on the patio occupied. Someone from the corporate office needs to visit this location as a regular customer to see the inefficient operation that I have described. Update(10⁄2014) As many of yu know this company went bankrupt even though there was almost always a waiting list at the Palm Desert location. Almost all of the locations here in So California were closed almost overnight.

Food was mediocre at best. There are so many other restaurants that do Happy hour better… why waste your time with lettuce wraps reminiscent of Alpo? Only reason I gave two stars is the service was friendly and prompt

Have been here many times in the past when we lived here and decided to come here for a late lunch. I ordered Lamb Shanks and the rice and veges were cold. Hubby order a bowl of Onion Soup and a Philly Steak sandwich. When Dayna, the waitress, brought our entrée she was asked about the soup as he never got it and she just said«its on the way» and hubby told her the soup should have been served before his sandwich and she just walked away! He got it 5 minutes later. She never came back to ask how the food was. Empty bowl of soup was left on table thoughout the entire meal. Sorry to say, this will be the last time we go to the E Bar.

Great atmosphere, fun bar. The place is awesome, the food was amazing and service was super quick. I loved every aspect of the place except one bar tender who clearly has no business working with people. Even the other bartenders and servers avoided her like the plague. I would have given five stars if it wasn’t for her. I will be back…

You can wait almost two hours at times for a table so sitting in the bar is your best bet. The bar serves some of the best mixed drinks around and the appetizers and bar menu are good. You can eat off the regular menu in the bar area too so I suggest trying this location if you want some great food and drinks at a very decent price!

We usually have good food and service. However, after using the restroom, I was washing my hands and looked over at the TP/towel shelves and saw a large steak knife hidden in the towels, I then, carefully presented to the manager who thanked me and quickly dismissed me. Our meals were less than average. Overall…, from cool to waitress to manager… Shame on you EB!

I can’t think of any good reasons to go back here again… Service was really lagging. I almost felt bad for our waiter. We watched the host and other waiters huddle around the host stand while our waiter struggled to take orders and run the food. We ordered alot of items from the bar, some drinks as well. The drinks were fine. Beer options are really unimpressive. The food was ehhh… I think the tuna was the best. Everything else tasted pre made, frozen… This was kind of a waste of time and money for us.

My first time here and I liked it. the décor was nice. Happy Hour was very reasonable… so many choices under $ 8. Fried green beans were pretty good! the chicken tenders were alright too. same as any place. I liked the fact EB wasn’t super packed with people. Service was good. I will be back next time I’m in Palm Desert

My uncle and popped in about 3:00 pm on Saturday for a quick snack as we had missed lunch. I ordered the seared Ahi Tuna which came with a small side salad. Both of them were very good. My uncle ordered a chicken quesadilla and a raspberry tea. He was very happy with both of them. The service was not the normal great service. Our server disappeared after serving us. We had to flag down another server to get our food boxed and a check. The place wasn’t busy so I’m not sure what the problem was, but it cost them a star. I’d go back in heartbeat. Really love that seared Ahi Tuna!

Crème Brule was giant and way too much sugar on top — it was like trying to cut through glass with a spoon! — but otherwise everything was groovy. Our waiter was nice, our drinks were strong, and for a chain restaurant the food was highly decent. A nice distraction for a date night with a short time span.

One of the most revolting restaurants I’ve ever had the misfortune to enter. Hubby and I were on our way back from the outlets when we decided to stop for a bite. We drove by Chipotle, BJS, In N Out and several other chainy fast-foody, artery cloggy options before deciding to patron this joint. Oh how I wish we would have stopped at ANY of those before walking into this place. The artichoke dip tasted like soured milk. The green beans were deep fried and gross. I couldn’t even finish my «lighter option» arugula salad. The mac and cheese side was vile and flavorless. This establishment should be ashamed to serve human beings such slop. One thing I will say– our server was on top it and did her job well. It wasn’t her fault the food was garbage. Maybe she felt bad for us. I went to bed and woke up sick to my stomach and I am trying to drink a ton of water to detoxify my body from this experience. Go here at your own risk.

Eating at this Elephant Bar was a bit strange. The waitress had such a bad attitude and was so pushy with the up-sell! She thought that a black and tan(a mixed drink made with 2 types of beers) was a beer that could be ordered on draft. The mixed drinks that we did order tasted as if there was zero alcohol in them whatsoever. The food was mediocre at best, especially for the inflated prices. Honestly, we went to this restaurant after a long day of hiking and our standards were low to begin with. The fact that this place fell below the standards of tired hikers should tell you all you need to know about its quality.

I had a gift card so I figured scoring some points with my wife for dinner would be cool. We decided on ordering take out since our youngins could be a hit and miss proposition at times. We organized our order and the call was made. I emphasized BLACKENED for our Salmon & Mahi-Mahi dishes and added Mac & Chicken Tenders along with the Spring Rolls for an appetizer. They told me 10 – 15 minutes so I left my home immediately so the food would not be sitting there. The front reception area is a CLUSTER-____with young female talent you may find at a Justin Bieber concert. I do not believe the hiring process involves any IQ assessments. I know, a bit harsh but warranted. When I arrive I am told the food will be a minute and I am asked for payment. I put down the gift card and I ready to roll home as my bottle of red is waiting. One of the five hostesses approaches and asks how I want the fish prepared. I reiterate that I had already reiterated BLACKENED and a manager named Tiffany gets involved. «I will take care of it sir.» When the bags come back a quick check of the articles inside will save me BIGPAIN later especially if the kids meal is M.I.A. Everything is there except the Spring Rolls. I mention this to Tiffany and she leaves and materializes with the rolls and more apologies. She was very nice. I stated that I know takeout can be a pain in the ass. But it would be wise to emphasize the importance of knowing the menu to those that are jotting down the orders. That way the crucial information is not missed and everyone is happy. I with the assumption that ten percent is left on the gift card for a tip and I leave. When I am home Tiffany calls to announce apologetically that my card was not returned. She decided to remove one of the fish plates and the rolls from our bill to make up for the little fiasco I had endured. I mentioned that it was unnecessary but that it was definitely appreciated. She told me to drop by and pick up the gift card with the remaining balance of $ 17 more than I expected. Oh, and she had given me a business card(so I thought) that was actually a card for a free dessert. This visit would have earned this establishment a ONE but Tiffany’s responses raised the rating and earned another chance on the next go round. The main dishes were good and spiced right which includes the veggies. I was disappointed with the rolls but that’s on me because I had tasted them before. I will not step in that hole a third time. I applaud how Tiffany reacted and I will return because of it.

This is my usual stop every time I come to Palm Springs, and it has been pretty consistent. Last time I was here, the food was great! I think we all had special orders of some kind, and there were no mistakes at all. Food quality was decent… I got a burger and it was pretty good for the price. My only complaint is inconsistent service. I have never seen the place really busy, but the food is generally slow to come out, and for whatever reason, trying to get a refill is very difficult. Otherwise, it’s decent and I’ll probably come back next time I’m in the area.

Well, you know, I was going to let this pass and not say anything. Some people think I say too much, I can’t imagine, but three of us went late Sunday afternoon. The third of our threesome likes the E.B. and was all enthused about the Adventure Platter or some such imaginative name. It’s the one with ribs, chicken, corn and what all. The E.B. Is not exactly high on my list of favorites although I manage to go without visibly cringing. Here is the reason for my update. It isn’t the food. That was O.K. The Platter was a load of variety, which both the visiting V.I.P. and I each ordered. I can’t even remember what my husband ate, but there was no complaint about it at all. Here’s the rub. We all ordered Margaritas and what we received was a glass of citrus juice and ice. We have Margaritas in restaurants all the time and don’t ever have a problem, but this was such a bad drink that all of us agreed we should not have to accept a beverage that is so unenjoyable. The waitress suggested consulting the bartender and returned saying there is an ounce and a half of Tequila in all the Margaritas. We requested they be removed and replaced with Cokes. Paying $ 7.25 for a glass of watery lime juice just didn’t seem rational. Far be it from me to accuse, but I do wonder what the bartender is doing with all that Tequila he may or may not be saving. So the three stars is for the food and the décor and a big Goose Egg goes to the bartender. If I’m pressured into going to the E.B. again, I will definitely be an on the wagon teetotaler and will be singing, «Set up the Coke, I got a little story that isn’t a joke.»
