Definitely the right place for a romantic dinner at the patio. The service is excellent, I had the salmon dish and asked for few changes on the sides, the waiter had no problem to make the changes and also suggested other alternatives. Dessert was my favorite part with complementary chocolate strawberries and great coffee.

Well fourth time here sat inside by pianist our Server Fernando was excellent For food we had Brussel sprout salad which was excellent and the special tomato mozzarella salad with basil And pine nuts which could of been better the tomatoes were ice cold almost to the point that they froze so the texture of the tomatoes had broken down too bad it would of been a better dish For wine 2013 Domain Drouhin which was delicious Entrees Stroganoff excellent The special white fish a little too much flour in the breading It was deceived to us as a dusting but was a bit heavier sort of overpowered the delicate fish. We also had the Sea bass cheeks which were good but then again why coat them in flour with a heavy hand? It really takes away from the flavor of the fish. Having been turned away with shorts on I was surprised to see a man at the table next to us in shorts. When I Asked the senior hostess she replied in a smug manner well he had long pants when he came in He must of changed? Not a very good response and totally unprofessional Food 3 stars Service Fernando 5 stars Management zero stars

Our favorite restaurant in the desert. It never disappoints and feels like coming home to be greeted by lovely June! Absolutely splendid was the halibut, so fresh you could swear you could taste the ocean! Prepared like their famous Lake Superior white fish! It was the best ever. Closing soon for the season, we’ll miss having them nearby… til October

That’s right, as good as it gets. This fantastic little restaurant has the taste and feel of being in another part of the world. The chef and his wife are the owners(Jay and June), and they do a fine job of making the best food possible. We are not wine drinkers, so we can’t tell you how good that is, but the food… yes, it’s awesome! I would say that if you’re planning a night out, with a great dinner in mind, go to Jillians. But get a reservation! You will need it! Woohoo!

The most impressive thing about this place were the cars parked in front of it. Even though we had a reservation, we were seated in a tiny back room that had 5 tables in it. Not very impressive, but the courtyard looked nice. Our waiter and the busser were great. Very attentive and friendly. The food was mediocre at best. I had the Brussel Sprout salad, so bland and it looked dead on the plate. Then I had the New York steak. The steak itself was cooked well but again, bland. I guess they ran out of salt and pepper. The worst part was it looked like someone puked on my plate there was so much crap on it. Ratatouille, diced beets, some potato thing, baby carrots and broccolini. Oh and some kind of bland sauce and onion strings. The only decent thing out of that mess was the broccolini. Here’s some advice: keep it simple! Don’t think I’ll be back.

First time walking in, husbands were wearing dressy shorts and we were told we could not be seated given they were not in long pants. It was our friend’s 20th year wedding anniversary which we noted on reservation. Incredibly disappointed with rude hostess. Took our business to Mitch’s– who gave us an incredible table and had the most marvelous food.

Jillians is one of the best restaurants in the desert. It is a beautiful and unique place. Has such a romantic vibe but best of all is its food. Nothing taste bad here … Nothing! It is all so delicious! I recommend the white fish, it is on the special menu, the crème brûlée is amazing. I can’t say a negative thing about this place. Can’t wait to come back.

My wife and I along with our very good friends went to Jillians Restaurant in Palm Desert this evening to celebrate a birthday. The atmosphere is beautiful and the staff is welcoming. We were seated at a table for four which was small so I asked our waiter if we could move to the larger table for four adjacent to ours. He said he would have to check with the hostess. About ten minutes later the hostess came to our table and asked if there was a problem. We told her everything was wonderful, we would just like to move to the adjacent table. She said she would check and left for approximately ten minutes. About five minutes later she returned and said the table we wished to move to was reserved, but there was another table located on the other side of the restaurant she could show us. I thanked her and followed her to take a look. Much to my surprise, the new table was an exact replica of the table we were at just in another room. I conveyed that to the hostess and said there must be a misunderstanding. I told her we would like one of the larger table for four, not the same table elsewhere. I returned to our table and within five minutes a woman who appeared to be the manager or owner appeared at our table. This is when things became interesting. This woman began telling me how all the larger tables were reserved, that in the future we need to reserve a larger table and that she could move us, but the table would be the same size. It was clear she was irritated and put out having to come to our table to explain that. I told her this all started when we asked to simply move to the adjacent table. If she had nothing for us we would remain seated where we were. She then gave us a condescending smirk and walked away. We then ordered our dinner. Food and service was amazing, but we will never return. The entire nonsense over moving 3 feet to a larger table was ridiculous and just left us feeling uncomfortable. The manager/owner was pretentious and less than accommodating. It’s really to bad since the restaurant is amazing. Oh well!

Looking forward to dining at Jillian’s for the first time was a huge disappointment from appetizer to dessert. Poor presentation in all dishes. The swordfish was too fishy for me and it came with beets, carrots, broccoli potatoes, tomatoes and I think corn? I did not know where to start, but my plate was full of options. Also ordered the lamb and it came well overcooked with same exact sides as swordfish, which is odd. Service was just okay. Felt like we did a lot of waiting just to place our orders. Will not be going back to give it a second try.

The food is delicious. We loved the shaved Brussels sprout salad. For entrees, the hits were their special white fish and the rack of lamb. Service was an usual experience of being so attentive that someone was standing so close to our table that they could clearly hear our conversations as well as taking a little to long to take drink orders, bring menus, and offering things like cracked pepper way too late. The décor inside is old school but they have lovely outside patio seating. The quality of the food is excellent. It’s a sophisticated menu. Worth checking out for a date night.

We had a wonderful dinner here this past weekend as we had celebrated Valentine’s Day while on vacation in Palm Desert. This place had such a beautiful ambience to go along with its delicious food. We sat outside at their courtyard area which was beautifully decorated. I ordered a pasta dish which was fantastic and husband ordered Swordfish which he loved as well. We both had their pear salad which was excellent and shared their pineapple cheescake for desert. Everything was amazing! Highly recoommend this place for a really nice, romantic evening!

Jillian’s is a place you must go to. The food is incredible, and the staff of professionals is even better. I saw a couple of the negative reviews and I can not believe them at all, they must be writing about somewhere else. This place is a true jewel, and an amazing place to spend a special occasion. Our Anniversary Dinner was so good that we are going to make this a new tradition! Thank you everyone for a wonderful experience. Five Stars on all levels!

What a disappointment. Upon arriving we had high expectations. The place looks great, nice ambiance and was very busy… all promising signs. The service was fine… But the meal… well…the best way I can describe it was that it reminded me of a banquet at a motor lodge. I’ve had better food at a diner. The stroganoff noodles were stuck together with a sauce that could have come from a can. The boneless chicken champignons was served with a bone with a sauce as equally bland with the saddest medley of vegetables I’ve seen in a very long time… which…by the way… were the same as those served with the white fish«special». The cost of the meal though in par for the type of restaurant was way over priced for the quality of food. I’m shocked to read other reviews here which say how great the food is. Perhaps if you’re used to dining at restaurants that have pictures of the food on the menu then… well…that still doesn’t explain it. I’ve had better meals at those places too…

We recently heard about this place and were certainly no disappointed. We sat at a very comfortable table in the outside courtyard. Our wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. Suggestions on the menu were right on target. Food was well prepared and delicious.

My husband and I had a phenomenal experience. Greeted by Jorge as our car was valet parked… Welcomed by the owner and wife of the chef… Cocktails listening to the smooth sounds of a pianist who knew every request… Dinner in the atrium under the stars and sparkling lights… the service was impeccable the food exquisite! As we left, the car was awaiting us without us even having to ask. I appreciate that there is a dress code so I saw no one in shorts… this just added to the ambiance and exceptional experience! Jill Brogan, a very pleased guest

First time at Jillian’s during a recent visit to Indian Wells. Nice atmosphere and good food. Completely ignored my wife’s birthday even though I pointed it out in the reservation. A small thing but important when it’s the reason for paying for a nice dining experience.
