I thought it was just me that was frightened by this «clinic» until I read the other Unilocal reviews. I wish I had read them first. I never would have bought the voucher.
For starters, even walking up to the facility – reeks of cigarette smoke. «Dr» Nelson is not an MD but some degree from some facility in Clinical Nutrition??? Imagine my surprise when «Dr» Nelson walked in and he was clearly the source of the foul and overwhelming cigarette odor. What a turnoff!!! Then «Dr» Nelson evaluated my meds and told me that I was taking the most dangerous drug ever developed – simvastin (zocor) and that he had developed it!!! He also said he «sat on two Nobel Prize committees»!! Whaaaaaat??? Blah, blah, blah.
My husband in a PhD (biochemistry), I am an RN and my son is a physician and teaches Emergency and Internal Medicine at USC. I know a little about medicine (ran oncology clinical trials for years) and I am pretty sure that everything he said was untrue, including all the hocus pocus machines in his facility that allegedly evaluate my health.
How can anyone who smokes like he obviously does seriously evaluate anyone for health? Earth to «Dr» Nelson – smoking is not good for you, read the side of every pack of cigs you inhale.
One of the machines used at this facility reminds me of that vibrating and jiggling machine which I am pretty sure was on a «I Love Lucy» episode.
His poor staff was extremely sweet and kind.
So happy I only used a voucher for this «advise» and facility. Not going to visit 2 and 3 (part of the voucher). Happy I got out of there intact, only out $ 97 and with most of my self respect.

My husband and I walked into Dr Nelsons clinic on route from Canada to Yuma Az. We wanted to know the price of his Vit C IV. We were surprised the receptionist didn’t know the price, but told us we had to sit down while she went to get the Dr. Our family and a friend were waiting outside in the car for us.
The Dr came in and told us he had something much better than Vit CIV and told us we needed to come into his office and he would show us. He was Very pushy! When we got into his office he told me I was very sick and told me I needed to sit in a chair across from him. He proceeded, without my permission to do kinesiology testing on me, touching me in places that made me VERY uncomfortable, but I thought, he couldn’t have done that on purpose?!? He stuck out his dentures in my face that only had two teeth remaining on them, I noticed his brown fingers sugesting a chain smoker, plus he reeked of cigarette smoke! We tried to leave his office after he gave me a sauna, I didn’t ask for. After that we were told to go sit in a couch and wait for him. We told the receptionist we had people waiting in the car… we felt trapped. He then came back told me to sit again in the chair he’d sat me in previous, and with another man proceeded to do more kinesiology testing, that again made me uncomfortable. I realized after he started that he was going to be charging me for this test I DID NOT WANT! Plus he also wanted me to buy all the supplements he as testing me for. I then knew I had been pushed into something I did NOT WANT!
THIS IS A WARNING DO NOT TAKE YOUR YOUNG DAUGHTERS TO THIS Dr! I wish I had read his reviews before we went in to ask about his vitamin CIV prices, we would have saved a whole day and 130.00 $ Canadian! 97.00 $ US!
He was also EXTREEMLY rude to his sweet Japanese receptionist! Yelling at her like she was an animal, demanding she jump whenever he called!
This man is rude and VERY PUSHY!
Something should be done so others do not get sucked in him.

STAY AWAY!!! «Dr.» Nelson is a chain smoking you know what. He reeks of cigarette smoke! It’s nauseating. He «accidentally» brushed against my breasts several times while he was «examining» me. I told him several times what I’m allergic to. He sold me several products I am allergic to anyway. His whole practice is a rip off, he does not know what he is doing. I hope someone files a law suit against him or better yet one of his staff files a workers compensation suit against him for abusive working conditions, harassment and a hostile work environment. Just because he treated Suzanne Sommers many years ago does not mean he’s good at what he does. I hope she removes her endorsement from him.

I have this thing about the vibe that people put out. I was very turned off by the «Dr.‘s» energy. I was uncomfortable the way he speaks to his young staff like they are idiots. It was shocking.
I arrived 15 minutes early, and I filled out so much paperwork just to have a foot soak. He said I could fill out the paperwork while I soaked but I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes. When they finally took me into another room he acted like I should have known to leave the waiting room and go to the other room and soak, so I told him this is my first time here.
He put on a video while I soaked. After a half hour the water looked slightly discolored but I couldn’t tell exactly what color. They gave me a copy of a chart that was in a protective cover explaining the toxins. He said he didn’t have time to do the consultation and we’d have to do it next time and that he wanted to do a Tesla on me. I asked what is that and he handed me a copy again in a protective cover that didn’t really explain to me what it was.
As I was rescheduling to come back the next week for the soak and consultation the girl said that he had time to do the consultation now! I had another engagement to go to. On my drive home I reflected on the experience that was supposed to be a half hour soak and consultation. I got the soak and no consultation and he tried to do something else. I don’t want to go back and listen to him be verbally abusive to his staff.

Bad experience here, the Dr was not nice. He is moody, and his poor staff seems to work around his temperament. Zero results!!!

I usually don’t get suckered, but that Groupon that I saw really did it. I ended up paying $ 750 for some kind of wrap deal, a fat removal machine, and this other vibrating jiggle thing. Absolutely NO results! Frustrated. Very nice staff! The Dr. Smokes like a chimney.

We went to Dr. Nelson only once and wish we hadn’t! Dr. Nelson is not even a real medical doctor. He reeks of cigarette smoke and it’s funny that he is a «wellness» doctor. I bought his $ 1000 detox program for myself and my sister that «guaranteed» to lose weight and it didn’t even work. Just beware of spending your money on the expensive supplements and body wraps and don’t waste your time here. I would definitely not come back. He treats all his staff horribly. The office was nice.

Not a fan at all. I purchased a «guaranteed» inch loss detox package for my husband and I on the desert deal of the day. This included 2 wraps, 2 body vibration things, and 2 footpaths for each of us. Neither os us lost the «guaranteed» inches. I brought up my concerns where the dr told me I would need to continue to spend more money here if I wanted these wraps to work. He obviously needs to learn what «guaranteed» is or redefine it for his customers. I am now out $ 300 and was basically told «sucks to be you if you can’t afford another $ 1000 for services here». HUGE waste of time and money. Also, the doctor reeks of smoke and I am quite hesitant to take advice from someone who purposefully inhales carcinogens, teratogens, and other mutagens willingly. Also I did not see any certification of him ever having graduated from medical school, just pharmacological. Buyer beware. This place is most certainly aimed for the nouveau riche of Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage who have nothing better to do than waste money on hinky techniques and treatments.
I most certainly will never return here. I have wasted $ 300 in treatments, gas for 57 mile one way travel x3, and 13 hours of my life that I will never get back.
On a positive note, the facility is nice, although they need to change the fountain water which smelled very swampy my last visit and the staff are all very nice. It is a shame the doctor barks orders at them like they are slaves.

Ironically, for a «health and wellness» doctor, Dr. Nelson is avid smoker and a rude and belligerent person. You can smell cigarette smoke coming from his office and on him! His staff is friendly and helpful even when he yells and chastises them in front of the patients. Dr. Nelson uses foul language towards his patients and his staff! Highly don’t recommend this place. Save your money and go elsewhere.
