So convenient for all 5000 homes in SunCity off of Washington Street. You can take your golf cart in fact and go directly to their parking lot from our gated community. How easy is that?
They have a nice selection of everything you would like from excellent fruit and vegetables to all your can goods and a wonderful Deli and AAA meat market.
I have noticed over the couple of years they are sliding in more of their own products and then weaning off the namebrand products which really is getting my goat!
I’m dropping them from the 5 to 3 because of it. Also parking stinks! If you find one you can consider yourself very lucky and fortunate! However for Handicapped person like myself, why it seems everybody seems to be a handicap these days and those spots are always filled.

About like Safeway in No Cal. Solid value. Big upside in the dessert is the people watching…

This store is close to my home BUT I only shop here if I have other errand in the shopping center. This store has the most rude and unfriendly checkers I have ever run across. How hard is it to smile when a customer says hello? A checker with grey hair is the worst — always acts like she is put out that she has to check someone out. Even tho this store has good prices at times, the rudeness of the clerks cant make a good price better.

Beware the many, many rabid and roving bands of angry, racist penguin street gangs, who mainly reside in the frozen food aisles…

not my favorite grocery chain, but i popped in to get a load of bread thru the fast check out when i was accosted by (the way i fekl) a steely gray-​haired checker who told me“you, go to checkstand 3″ i should have told her no but instead i picked up my bread and when to the other fast check out.
to make matters worse, she continued to tell me tp go to checkstand 3 even though she was not ready to check me out.
never again. there is too much competition with friendly and helpful checkers in palm desert.

This store would be great if the parking lot wasn’t full of golf carts and people who don’t know how to drive them, and a more friendly staff. Most employees here look very young and seem more interested in talking to each other rather than the customer… However nice young lady by name of breana helped me to my car with a smile on her face thank you breana! Produce is usually fresh, deli food always hot however meat department seems to need in upgrade in employees and product): so would I return to this store? Probably not however with a few upgrades and new hires they’d have my business.

This place is convenient and close to the freeway. Their parking lot caters a lot to the sun city residents and their golf carts so the general parking is off a ways which has you walking more especially pushing those x-​large shopping carts they have to fulfill the gluttony of the average american.

It was so nice to see a familiar face again at the checkout today. Katie W. was randomly transferred to the Indio store and… Her customers at the Varner store miss her!!! This adorable redhead brings a warm, friendly wholesome smile to work with her everyday! It’s just not the same without her. Hoping/​praying one day she’ll be back to stay permanently.

This Stater Bros. in Palm Desert has a great selection of goods, with comparable prices to other stores in the area and a lot of popular discounted items. It’s a large, very clean and organized store, with an exceptionally friendly staff… Located right outside of Sun City, they’re always busy and the complex parking lot is like a demolition derby on some days. Watch out for senior citizens in golf carts!

*** Pit stop review (Palm Desert) ***
This is a very nicely built and maintained store. The store is larger than normal with wide isles. This makes for a nice place to make a pit stop. However parking may be a bit of a squeeze. There seems to be a lot of shoppers during the mid-​day hours.
Get some good food from the Deli, and grab some snacks before hitting the road. The whole rotisserie chicken is great to have for lunch especially because it’s often freshly made.
Deli section food = good
Shopping area = clean
Service = average
Restroom = clean

So, we are doing a food distribution for needy families in the East Valley. I called Stater Bros in Palm Desert, spoke with the meat dept. to order 26 turkeys of the 51 turkeys for our event. Everything was confirmed the day before with the meat manager, and week before Thanksgivings. So, i get to Stater Bros to pick up the turkeys, at first everything was fine, then the heavy hand of management fell and i was informed by the Store Manager, Chris that Stater Bros has a policy that they can’t sell more that two turkeys per person. He showed me an internal memo. I stated that that was absurd! I said, what so the other families are just supposed to without for Thanksgivings? I said the policy is flawed. I ask «Do we live in a socialist state that controls food?» He finally relented, sold me ten and said that i could not buy any more turkeys, or at least until some undefined time had lapsed (not part of the policy)! Fortunately, Fernando had followed me to help take the turkeys to the event. He bought ten more turkeys. I had followed him back into the store and bought two turkeys, but was confronted by the Chris the store manager. He said «I thought i told you that you couldn’t buy anymore turkeys, I responded by saying, well, i guess your going to have to stop me.» He walked away, like i was stealing something. Fernando went back into the store (covertly!) and bought the other remaining turkeys.
I didn’t ask for any discount, i payed full price! All i wanted was some food to help some needy families at this time of Thanksgiving. I hope all of my friends will do me a favor and call Chris, and tell him the Stater Bros policy is flawed and needs to be changed! Here is the phone number (760) 772‑7508. I don’t think this was a race issue, but rather a corporate policy that needs to be adapted so that people who want to donate food stuffs at the holidays can do so, without a repressive régime stopping the hands that try to help! They are a very clean and quiet store. They have amazing staff that will smile and ask you if you need help. They are always fully stocked with their products. I love their freshly baked cookies! They always have specials on items which is amazing for a family of 6 like me!

Very helpful! I needed a few things from the pharmacy area & Pharmacist Ron helped me out… Answered my questions. Also, I needed an ankle support but didn’t know my size & without even asking, Ron went & got a measuring tape so that I could make the best choice right there… Thank You Ron! Without your help, I would have had to go home & come back later…

believe it or not they have really good orange chicken here, in the deli of course… great price on toilet paper too… the staff seems pretty much friendly and I enjoy coming here. they have a great wine selection … not to mention my bank is in this store … 50 cent money orders to boot!

My favorite of all Stater Bros here in the desert, although I shop at the one in la Quinta more often because it’s closest to home. It’s always clean and I get great service here.

Stater Bros must be very proud of RAPEING the elderly at the Palm Desert store. I purchased mi9lk and ice cream last night, and the price of the Breyers ice cream was $ 4.98! Today I went to WINCO, and their price is $ 2.98. I have noticed that your prices are way out of range! I think that I will start bad mouthing Stater Bros, as this is what you nedd!!!

I usually shop at the Stater Bros on Hwy 111 but stopped in this one because it’s close to my office. Wow! What a find!
The store is squeaky clean, well stocked and the staff are super friendly. Parking is plentiful and the lot is clean. This store is right near a large retirement community so it really caters to the older crowd. I’m guessing that’s why they were out of stock on the double fiber bread, lol.
The deli and bakery products look beautiful. Again, this market is a great find. :)

Because their wine selection is crap.
They have a horribly limited and unorganized, difficult to navigate selection.
