Food was just okay but it was hard to enjoy it with all the smoke. Atmosphere is relaxed and fun but desperately needs some fans to get the air moving. Husband’s almost got sick from all the smoke blowing in his face while he was eating.

To many locals and smokers all over the place. Fans aren’t enough good beer but can’t breath.

The craft beer is on point. Boyle changes taps regularly and has domestics. Can’t get much better than that

This place is awesome! The owner makes sure the mood stays relaxed and friendly and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The wings were really tasty, it is very dog friendly! The walls are lined with pics of people who served in all branches and they welcome more pics for their walls. Love this place!

My dad and I ordered a to-go pick up order from here this past weekend. Being that the Parrothead fest was going on, we expected the service to be a little slow, but as it turned out, the slow service ended up being the LEAST of our problems. When we got home and opened the food, we noticed that my order, a bacon cheeseburger with lettuce and onion, was wrong(had no bacon, lettuce, or onion) and was cooked well-done when I had asked for medium. Also, my dad and I each got an order of fries with our meals and they were soggy and dripping with grease. We each only ate about half of our meals because we just didn’t like them. Later that night, we both felt horribly sick. Our stomachs were killing us, and we both were puking all night. My dad continued to be sick the following day too. Since I had the burger and he had the chilli dogs, we figured either the burger meat or something with the grill had given us food poisoning. I can understand and forgive slow service and small mistakes on an order on a busy day, but unsanitary cooking conditions/expired products can never be justified. I will never ever return to this place(obviously) and I recommend no one ever does.

Boyles is our go-to spot for a cold beer on a hot day!

My favorite little«dive bar»!! — Only complaint is the beer selection is limited. Shock-Top is their premium beer. This place(or any other outdoor place in Florida,) can be brutal in the summer time. — Be prepared to sweat and swat flies!(I’m OK with that though!!) — A nice evening storm often cools things down for a bit! Great neighborhood atmosphere — Great Fish Taco’s and Buffalo Shrimp! — Good Music most of the time! For what it is, «a neighborhood dive» with a beachy atmosphere, it is simply quite enjoyable. — I only wish they had a better beer selection!

Sat at bar, didn’t even get to order food until every one lit up and we were overcome by second hand smoke. Thought you weren’t allowed to smoke within 500 ft. of a building in Florida. Oh well. They also have barely anything on tap. Won’t ever go back here.

Would remind you of a beach dive but right in Palm Harbor. It is named appropriately as you feel as though you are hanging out in your friend’s backyard. Laid back atmosphere and friendly staff and regulars. Food is a notch above your typical pub grub and they are very accommodating to requests. Great place to «hang out»!!

This is the kind of dive bar every neighborhood needs. It’s just tacky and dirty enough to have some real personality. So if you’re looking for a dirty martini and a medium rare filet, keep on looking. If you want to enjoy a couple of cheap PBR tall boys with a group of friends, Boyle’s is the place to go.

I was able to take my dog to Boyle’s while we had dinner. I had to hunt for the fish in the fish tacos. I would rather have one decent fish taco than 3 deficient ones. My older guest ordered the mild buffalo shrimp. Said he was glad he didn’t order the medium as the mild was quite spicy. We shared a basket of onion rings. The sauce was tasty but way too salty. Service was on par. All in all, it is a great open air beach bar for happy hour and night caps…

Very friendly staff that make you feel right at home– love the outdoor only seating. Took my father-in-law who is retired Air Force. He loved all the military memorabilia they have up. This place has a ton of old Florida charm and if I lived here it would be a regular spot. The kids had a great time too and loved the dogs. If you are visiting the area and want a cool place that’s off the beaten path I give Boyle’s a thumbs up. Very family friendly and again the staff were top notch.

Boyle’s Backyard, at first glance, is nothing to look at. If you sneeze, you’ll drive past it. But if you can sneeze with your eyes open, catch a quick glimpse and you will notice that«nothing to look at» turns into«I can’t stop staring» very quickly. BB’s is a beach shack type open air bar and grill place. The atmosphere is «redneck backyard» and I mean that in the most loving and respectful way possible. It’s as if you were invited over to Honey Boo Boo’s house to have dinner. License plates adorn the walls, tributes to soldiers, old antique chotchke’s are everywhere. Old army hats, badges, medals. It’s really a great place to bring the kids and reminisce about the good old days. The seating is plastic lawn chair type seating with big umbrella’s over plastic tables. It’s a fun place, definitely a «neighborhood» joint where dogs are just as welcome as people(for the outside seating). And, you have to love a place that has a banner on the menu that says: «If you’re easily offended, you probably will be here.» But, I DEFY you to find yourself a better pulled pork sandwich anywhere. The food is SO good. The menu is pretty extensive for such a small place and they offer a ton of different beers for the connoisseur of the suds. Just remember, it’s a beach shack, minus the beach. If you are looking for a «fine dining experience», go ELSEWHERE. But if you don’t mind the Florida sun beating down on your head, while swatting a few mosquitos out of your face, and yelling over the loud music and the crew of bikers who are always there… this place is a blast. The drinks are cold. The food is hot. The service is great(albeit a little slow when they are über busy) and the place is just a lot of fun. You need a sense of humor to come in, but the food will bring you right back.

I really love this place. It’s so casual, so friendly, and very much local. The atmosphere is kind of like a beach shack with an old Florida feel to it. The service I received was very friendly and personable, and I can bring my dog too which is a huge plus. The beer selection is pretty typical, but the prices are excellent. I am a big fan of the buffalo shrimp, but the menu has a lot of great options. There are plenty of TVs for watching sports, and seating is available at the bar or at the patio tables. This is a great place to relax with a few beers.

Dog friendly place to grab a beer, buffalo shrimp and watch the game! My husband and I just LOVE the Dunedin and Palm Harbor area. Both little towns always have something going on and tons of great places to eat. Boyle’s is a fantastic place in Palm Harbor off the little main street that offers sea food and typical tavern fare. On our last visit we had our two dachshunds and were looking for a place to watch the Steelers. We sat in the patio area in front of a TV and ordered a bucket of beer, a dish of water for the dogs, a mahi fish sandwich and buffalo shrimp. Everything was delicious, the server was great, the weather was gorgeous and the Steelers won!

We pulled into Boyles Backyard around 1630 hours on an August Sunday. After requesting permission to come aboard(the eponymous Boyle is an ex coastie), we were told to sit anywhere. Anywhere could have been the interior dining room, which was empty, the bar, which was crowded, or the empty covered fan-filled terrace, which we chose. We were shortly greeted by our waitress, who was a young mother. I can attest to this with some confidence because she was shortly joined by her daughter, puppy, and partner. Yes, BB has the air of a neighborhood hangout, probably because it is. We started out with the Buffalo Chicken Dip with toasted nacho chips. We washed it down with one bottle of Sierra Nevada(no IPAs on tap) and a mug of ShockTop. I’m not gong to say that the dip was unique, but it was at least eccentric in a nice if slightly heavy sort of way. We moved on to the Conch Fritters. In our experience, very unusual. The outside was crisp, not greasy, and the inside was almost molten. Well, molten implies sizzling and frightful, which they weren’t, but they were definitely moist, in sharp contrast to most of the conch fritters I’ve previously sampled. Highly recommended, even if it turns out that you don’t like them, because they have a pronounced character, The two of us intended to try more of the menu, but the first two items seemed like plenty. We’ll return in a few months to try stuff we missed on the first pass.

Great spot to grab dinner or drinks and relax. Wonderful beachy dive restaurant and bar founded by a former Coastie. Everything you’d want and expect from a beach bar — corona specials, oysters, fish tacos, and a game of cornhole in the front. We got the tacos(Monday night special: $ 1 beef, $ 1.25 chicken, $ 1.50 fish, and all were great), wings, and Coronas(Monday night special: $ 2), and played some great games of cornhole. Great place in downtown Palm Harbor to relax and enjoy a nice Florida night.
