Acme House Company

We stayed at Alexander’s Blue Hawaiian and it was fantastic. Acme did an amazing job of making the whole process convenient and comfortable with amazing service.
The home was immaculate and the amenities were as if we had a presidential suite in a 5 star hotel only better! The whole family was comfortable including our dog who was allowed to stay too.

New Year, first review, so I’m trying something a bit different this time, in more ways than one. This was my first time renting a house (Mad Men in the Desert), and for the first time I’m writing a review at two separate times. I’m writing a bit backwards, too. I want to start with the positives, so I’ll start with day five. If I were rating the house alone, I would give it a «4». The ease of enjoying the outdoor activities of the yard was spectacular! We had a kidney bean pool (with floating chairs), loungers, pool table, ping-​pong, toss across, spa (which we didn’t use), and hammock. Although it rained our first few full days, we were able to have one day of perfect sunshine, and that is why you rent a house with all these amenities. All bathrooms could be accessed more or less directly from the yard, so very easy to hop out of the pool and into the shower. The kitchen was a chef’s dream, with all needed utensils and pans provided. The open floor plan of the common spaces and privacy of the 2 master bedrooms (which we offered to the non-​children components of our familia) made this a perfect getaway for our extended family. It was possible to enjoy each others’ company without becoming overwhelmed about not having private time. Hubby and I took one of the non-​masters and shared the hall bath with our kiddies, which did not have a tub but was okay (my sis let me borrow the tub in her master). Reasons the house was not a «5»: no soap dishes built into any of the tubs or showers (you had to use the ones on the sink), not enough towel racks (big problem with this many people in one spot), no trash cans in the bedrooms (big deal during cold season), and no propane provided to power the barbecue (which might actually be Acme’s fault). Also, the tub in the second master (the only tub in the house) has no sliding door, so drawing a bath unless you are in it is a problem. This is notable for moms (like me), who need to draw their kids’ baths.
Now for the problem with Acme. Because of poor management, my first impression of the house was sorta crappy… I mean, literally, there were plumbing problems, with a plumber and Acme staff still conducting repairs when we arrived a half hour after check-​in time, and a toilet full of crap in one of the master bathrooms. Full disclosure, I was warned it smelled, but I wanted to fully case the situation before my folks did: they are MUCH less forgiving. It actually was the visual that disturbed the most. The plumbing was fixed by about 4:15, but housekeeping didn’t have it cleaned until 4:30. Which means there was a toilet full of feces in my parents’ master suite for an hour and a half past check-​in. This really upset my mom, and I also did not appreciate it. Check-​out time for the previous guests was 10am, and I get it’s an older house, but there should have been a call made to us in advance of our arrival to make us aware of the situation BEFORE we drove up. Moving on… by day two we realized the wi-​fi was down, and so the management company had to show up AGAIN to resolve the issue. Although the rep was very responsive, it really stinks to have some random dude in your living space two days in a row for things that should have been resolved prior to our arrival. There were other little things, like no batteries in the remote control in our bedroom; and the aforementioned issue with no propane for the barbecue. Because of this, I’d give Acme itself a «2» if it weren’t for the awesome property that they have been given to manage. So, in conclusion, I would most certainly rent a house again, and I would look for a place that had all of the wonderful outdoor amenities of Mad Men in the Desert. But I’d think twice before renting a property managed by Acme. They are just too off their game to recommend without caution.

Excellent service, lovely homes, nothing but the best from Acme. highly recommend using them to find a fantastic vacation home in Palm Springs! We stayed for two weeks in the «Buena Vista House» which is in a great location if you play tennis– just 2 blocks from Ruth Hardy Park — lots of good players there. The house has a very nice pool & front yard, plenty of shade for lounging on the lawn… can’t wait to go back!

I have numerous options for vacation rentals in Palm Springs. The Acme team has consistently exceeded my expectations on all levels. They raise the bar for other vacation rental companies to follow. They truly are in a league of their own.

We rented an Acme House in old Palm Springs during our wedding week. We stayed in a 5brm 4bath house called Desert Peacock and we were so happy and comfortable. The pool and spa were amazing (and heated quickly) and my favorite spot of the house was the fire pit in the backyard. Our contact at Acme was super helpful and accommodating and we felt like they were there if we needed anything. The house was well stocked with dishes and the basics which made for a perfect arrival. Overall it was a great week and the rental was exactly what we needed.

This was my third Palm Springs house rental, first with ACME House Company, and it was my best experience yet! The rental process was simple and there was great communication between the staff and our party. We had a blast, and were lucky enough to be the first guests at the Mad Men in the Desert property. It was a smooth experience from start to finish. The property is beautiful, even better than the photos! It was obvious that a lot of care had been taken for our stay. Sparkling clean rooms, fully stocked with linens, board games, books, DVDs, hair dryers, etc. — all we had to do was bring our own food & beverages. The binder with the house info was also very useful with suggestions for stores and restaurants.
We had a great experience and will definitely be using ACME House Company again!

My husband and I stayed at Stargazer which is one of the ACME properties. The house was even better than described and everything was made so simple, really a pleasure. The interactions were detailed and very helpful.
And the house! Everything about it is amazing, from the sheets to the appliances to the pool to the location.
I would absolutely rent this house from Acme again-​a trouble free, perfect experience at a spectacular home!

I’ve stayed with Acme House Co 3 times in the last 3 years, each time for Coachella. The houses have always been as advertised, no surprises, with clean linens, pools and most importantly, great HVAC systems — a welcome change from some others we’ve rented with in the past.
The latest time we stayed there, we arrived to find a darkened house, turns out Palm Springs had a planned power outage for the area, but mgmt. still did everything they could to make sure we were comfortable and happy!

The entire experience with ACME, from beginning to end, was simply amazing. I typically stay in Palm Springs every April either for Coachella or for my friends birthday. This year it was a bachelorette/​birthday party.
We rented «Come Fly With Me». I had never used ACME before and was a little hesitant given the few negative reviews. Hands down the best experience we have had so far in Palm Springs.
As soon as the reservation was made I received confirmation emails giving me all of the instructions I could possibly need. How to enter the house, numbers to call in case I need maintenance or management, etc. ACME even has an app where you can access all of your house information.
We arrived to a spotless house with smooth jazz playing on the TV. There was a «house manual», everything was labeled, extra towels, blankets, stocked kitchen… everything you need. We had friends come over who lived locally because they heard how cool this house was. They couldn’t believe it. Fire pit outside and inside. Heated pool. Separate casita with a full bedroom/​bathroom. The best part was the master bedroom/​bathroom. It was straight out of a magazine.
It was a windy weekend. We received a message from ACME letting us know there was a wind advisory and if we needed the pool cleaned at some point to simply let them know.
Our weekend in Palm Springs was amazing. There wasn’t one hiccup with the entire experience. We will definitely be using these guy again when we return to PS!

This is my 3^rd time in an Acme House rental and I’ve been really pleased — decided it was time for a review. I was surprised to see some negative reviews. I’ve had 3 raelly great experiences with them.
The houses have all been accurately advertised, clean, well furnished, and well maintained, and management has been super responsive with even the smallest request. We had a smoke detector start beeping and they sent someone over immediately to swap out all the batteries within an hour (I was willing to do it myself). We stayed at a house with a pool when it was windy, and they came over repeatedly to clean out the pool.
Really pleased with the 3 homes my family has visited in Palm Springs and with the staff at Acme.

We just finished our Stay at Vintage Dream and everything went perfectly. Great communication from Acme (the mobile app is nice). Hassle free entry and check out. The condo was spotless and everything in working order. We loved the fireplace. The condo book was very helpful, which is surprising :). Will definitely stay again.

We stayed at an Acme house and it was great — very comfortable, incredibly well-​equipped and just… easy.
The Acme staff (Renee) took excellent care of us and was very friendly the whole way through the process.

My family and I have used this company many times! I have stayed at 3 different homes. Each time I have been happy with the house and amenities. They have been clean and well organized, even stocked with things we forgot at home but were glad to find! I would recommend this rental company to friends for a nice place to stay and a good price. We left Palm Springs with great memories from our vacation stays!

We rent from Acme several times a year — and I must say what a great time we have… every time! Choosing a home is easy, customer service is ready and waiting if there is ever an issue, and the homes are always awesome and ready on time.
Our last rental was Modern Ranch Heaven and it was great! We always try to experience different properties, but if a new one wasn’t available. I’d definitely stay here again.

We stayed in Franky’s Hideaway the house had some issues but they were all fixed right away.
We arrived to the house 2 hrs early n the office let us in n the house was very very clean. Whatever issue we had we called the custumer service n someone replied to us right away.
We got a follow up call after our vacation n we were refunded some money for the inconvenice. They apologized for anything was wrong in the house.
Overall, the house was clean the customer service was beyond expected. we will be returning next year.

We arrived at the El Nido (which we learned means The Nest) vaction house to find everything was great and better than we expected. We were there from August 16 – 22. The a/​c was set (very good since it was in the high 90’s outside), everything had that fresh scent and there was even some soft music playing. It felt like a five star hotel (but much better because it was a private home) all this made us feel welcome! This house had it all. It was in a really beautiful neighborhood that we found was called the Movie Colony East. There was a pretty cool park that was right across the street. We also loved how close it was to downtown Palm Springs. The backyard was big and our little Chihuahua Kujo loved it. We had our own pool, spa and even some nifty fruit trees. We used the lemons and limes for our drinks and even some cooking. What we really enjoyed was the awesome mountain views and the reason this place was called the nest was there is a staircase leading to a viewing deck on the roof, it was great to spend time up there and watch the sunset. There was also a great playhouse and yard for our kids and inside lots of kids toys and games… that kept them busy for hours while we relaxed qnd enjoyed the pool!
The kitchen had everything you could possibly need for cooking (plus the fruit trees haha) and there was a full size laundry room right off the kitchen that made our lives easier because we love to pack light and wash clothes to re-​wear.
The beds were exceptionally comfortable, nice and soft with high end linens, and there were plenty of towels and extra linens in the closets. This house provided us with all the comforts of home with loads of amenities which is why we chose a vacation rental over a hotel.
Making reservations online was so easy. While at the house, we had a bit of a problem trying to figure out the T.V. but we communicated the issue with the office & took care of it really quick. The management company has this great new mobile app that provided us information about the home and local great things to do. It was also what allowed us to send them a message about our T.V. issue. This was a great way to communicate. Our vacation was wonderful and our experience with ACME was great and hassle free. They promised a great house and great service and they delivered. We would definitely recommend this home and ACME

Overall, we were pleased with our stay at Acme managed, Casa Del Sol. The house was ready an hour earlier than scheduled and we received an email notification as well as a message through the smartphone Acme App. The house was very clean, the beds very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The manual to the home provided by Acme was helpful.
Our only real complaint is that the listing on their website for this house clearly shows photos of a pool/​hot tub with working lighting for nighttime use though as we discovered, this wasn’t the case. The house manual showed us where to find the switch for the pool lights but upon locating it, we discovered it had been professionally sealed off and disabled for use. This lead to being unable to enjoy the pool and hot tub after dark as there wasn’t even backyard lighting. A disappointment for sure and a little bit misleading on the rental companies part since both the website and the user manual said there would be pool lights. I did leave a message for Acme regarding this issue the day we arrived but I never received a response during our 4 day/​3 night stay.
Also to be noted, the poolside furniture was nearly unusable due to dry-​rotting cushions in dire need of replacement. And the house, while recently renovated, according to Acme’s website, lacked an updated kitchen. Not a big deal for us but if something is described as being updated, it typically means its actually fully been updated. While these issues may relate more to the owner of the actual property itself, I do feel it is Acme’s responsibility to accurately portray the properties they manage and not mislead renters.

My husband and I decided to spend our anniversary in Palm Springs at a vacation rental property for a romantic getaway. Our friends recommended ACME House Co. so we gave it a try. They had lots of homes to choose from and took the time to make sure we were getting the property best suited for us (and even our dog.)
I’m a big fan of mid-​century modern décor and ACME’s homes have lovely vintage modern interiors and all the amenities you would want on vacation, like a pool, spa, fully-​equipped kitchens, etc.
We had the best time in Palm Springs and are so glad we chose ACME House Co. Our friends did not steer us wrong. This company offers a great selection of homes and are very good at making sure each guest feels welcome and has a great vacation experience.

This was the worst rental experience we have ever had, The management company lied to us, took our deposit, and was the most unprofessional team I have ever dealt with. They treated us terrible! Don’t ever use them
If you are a property owner and you use this company as your representative, you are making a big mistake.
Our experience was so bad, I have never used Unilocal or any other site like this, but I feel I need to let other people know that this company don’t care about anyone but themselves. Please find another company to do business with!
