I tried Chicken Grill House today for lunch. They are located on the west side of Congress on the very south side of their plaza, next to Mr. Shrimp. The interior is reasonably spacious, clean with plenty of seating available. They had a larger menu than I expected, but offered several cheap lunch specials. I went for the #1 lunch special which was ¼ dark meat chicken and included 2 sides. I chose black beans and fried yucca. The service was quick. Unfortunately they gave me white rice instead of black beans but I didn’t mention it. The rotisserie-style chicken was quite good, though there could have been a little more. It came with a spicy sauce that was pretty nice too. For the $ 6 or so price its hard to complain. I would come back to try more.

I was really excited to try this place but was unfortunately disappointed. I had chosen roasted chicken, rice and beans with plantains. I am thinking this is a Peruvian spot why not get something they are known for. The chicken was microwaved and not too well because some parts of it were still cold. The plantains were not cooked. Anyone who has bitten into raw plantain knows what I’m talking about. It was a starchy mess. It really messed me up. You couldn’t get fried sweet plantains right? Everything was also al a cart so it was a bit expensive for underwhelming food. I will skip this one next time.

while i was visiting family over the thanksgiving holiday, my wife and I decided to give this spot a shot for lunch and I am so very glad we did. Wanting to try something new, I got the Olluquito con Carne, and it was out of this world. I found it quite humorous that the guy behind the counter wanted to be sure i knew what I was ordering before he let me place my order. I guess I don’t look the type that would be interested in a traditional Peruvian mountain dish, but it was some of, if not the best food I’ve had in the palm springs/lake worth area.

Food was amazing. The steak sandwich was extremely flavorful. However I hate the paper plates they serve the food on, would love it much more if they were real plates.

I am not sure what happened to this place. Unfortunately it changed a lot since when it first opened. When i first went they just recently opened and their food was delicious and it was amazing. The food portion was a great amount for the price. Now fast forward to today, the portions got smaller and i could swear the prices went up. The chicken has been over spiced with pepper. I want to keep loving this place but its so hard when the last time i went my togo order forgot the beans and rice. Came back and didn’t get offered anything other than sorry we are busy today. I told the owner i understand these things happen, and then asked if i can have extra house sauce that i love for my chicken. He then told me they only give two, and do not give more even if they are offered money. I sat there shocked. And reality set in. This place has good food but is not the same as it was when i first got my greatest service. Im sure ill try again but not anytime soon unfortunately.

Decided to try something different tonight, so went to Unilocal. With 4 and ½ stars we decided to give it a try. It is the first time any of us tried Peruvian recipes. From the outside it had the appearance of a fast food joint. Inside was not much different, but besides the written menu there were good photos of their many selections. Being past dinner time the owner had plenty of time to answer all our questions concerning each dish. I had the Beef Sautéed platter which contained chunks of skirt steak with cooked tomatoes, red onions, rice and fries. The special sauce gave every thing an outstanding taste that I was still enjoying on my ride home. Each piece of meat was tender with no or little fat. My wife had the Steak with Sautéed Onion which also had white rice. Both she and I reveled over the onions, sauce and rice. The food is freshly cooked and delivered hot. If you are out for a delicious food experience at a reasonable cost give this place a try. Total cost for three of us for three entrées and a Tamale was about $ 45.

At first I was a little apprehensive about going to a new restaurant but I was pleased to find out that their food was really good. Unfortunately when I first located this restaurant it was a Monday and I wasn’t aware of their schedule and I thought that the place of going out of business. However the day after which was Tuesday I return to the same plaza know is that they’re open sign was on so I decided to try it out. There a skirt steak is very good there chicken is very moist and it taste like real chicken on the grill. The staff from the chef to the person taking your order are very friendly and are always willing to offer you new things on their menu or sauces. The only thing I would recommend is that they invest in sicker plates because the current ones are very flimsy and do not last very long when you’re using a knife on them.

They have the best Peruvian chicken in the area but I also love the steak and Peruvian corn. Hugh corn kernels and wonderful spices. The restaurant is extremely clean and the staff friendly. I drop by whenever I’m in town.

What a pleasant surprise! I thoroughly enjoyed my food! I ordered the chicken dinner with fries for my husband(he said the chicken was very moist), and two dinners with steak… just to try. The pesto pasta on the side was delicious and the skirt steak was soft and flavorful. The spaghetti and beef dish, which I think is a house specialty was very good, but not quite to the level of the other dishes. The owner was sweet and proud. I will return and I highly recommend.

Comparing price, flavor, service and –something amiss in most peruvian restaurants in South Florida– hygene, this is the best peruvian restaurant north of Miami. Eventhough their menu is not extensive, Chicken Grill does a very good job with the few dishes they prepare.

The food is delicious. Do not go if you are in a hurry however. This is fresh food, not fast food! The girl at the counter must have been having a bad day as she was indifferent and unsmiling. The owner however was friendly and seemed pleased that we enjoyed the food. The café is clean but very basic. We would definitely return.

I love supporting local places like this, especially when the food is delicious! The rotisserie chicken is incredible, and the beef heart is perfect as it would fool anyone to being sirloin. The owner is very nice and I can tell he enjoys his job. Be back soon!

Great place to pick up a rotisserie chicken meal for a solid and quick dinner. The Peruvian purveyor keeps the place clean and running smoothly.
