Went into this store on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at approx 3 p.m. to buy something that was on display in the window. My husband and I looked around for a short while and decided upon just the one item. There was also another couple browsing at the same time. I gave the older lady behind the counter, the large ceramic turtle we had chosen and she went to put it directly into a paper bag. I asked if she could protect it with some tissue paper; she gave me one sheet and said that should be plenty. My husband went to pay with the new chip card and she asked for his PIN. This is something new to my husband, so he asked her to run it as credit. She asked for his ID, snapped ‘look directly at me’ to him and looked repeatedly at his ID, at him and at the card, about four times! I honestly thought at this point that she was joking. She told him she couldn’t run the card as credit and she would only try one more time with his PIN and then we’d have to pay with cash. She tried to use his card again, my husband entered his PIN and she pulled it out of the machine and(now getting angry) said — ‘you’ll either have to pay cash or leave as I have other customers waiting to be served’. The ‘other customers’ looked horrified that she was using them as an excuse. I asked her to run my card and told her that it was obviously a problem with the machine. She grabbed my card, asked for my ID,(which you do not need with a chip card) looked me up and down like I was a criminal, ran the card and then INSISTED that I sign the check,(which again you do not need to do). I mentioned that with the new chip cards I should have to sign. She replied ‘It’s not required, but I require it. If you want to take goods from this store you’ll sign the check’. If I didn’t want the stupid turtle so bad, I would have told her to shove it! She was unbelievably rude and aggressive. She also said that chip technology had been in Canada for over 30 years! Idiot! Would never shop here again, simply due to her disgusting customer service!

Didn’t really have what I was looking for. Over prices stuff but it’s Palm Springs, still interesting to go in and look.

The 5 star rating is for the wonderful lady that works on the weekends. I believe her name is Barbara. We went into the cocky cactus this weekend trying to dodge in and out of 115 degree heat and while browsing the store had a great life conversation with this awesome genuine woman. The shop itself had some cute décor stuff and their dream catchers were more reasonably priced than the other shops oh and super cute nightlights. We actually stopped in this morning just to say goodbye so I hope to return soon to have a chat and buy a cute nightlight.

I don’t like being screwed, blued and tattooed, and that’s essentially how I feel about what happened at this store. After admiring some cute items that turned out to be Made in China, I came upon their cotton T-shirts. One group had three-quarter sleeves and nice Southwest designs, so I wanted one, and maybe even two. When I took one to pay at the register, I asked the young guy if I could get a discount for buying two. He said he had a coupon for«spend $ 20 get $ 5 off.» But my husband had a pounding headache and needed to go find water to take ibuprofen NOW. The shirts were of the sort that I thought could vary in size, and he didn’t want to wait for me to try on the other one. Each shirt was $ 40, double what the guy said was needed to get the $ 5 discount. But he refused to give it to us, and wouldn’t budge. When we asked where the coupon was published, he said«it’s in the back of the store.» Huh? I’m sort of pissed at myself for buying the shirt anyway, but I knew I’d be unlikely to find it anywhere else, and it’s very hard for me to find a knit shirt I can comfortably wear. Sleazy, slimy, and definitely not customer– friendly. He said, when asked, that he is the son of the owner. If this is how the owner and his son do business, people should think twice about patronizing this store. Five dollars is not worth the high cost of bad word-of– mouth. Nor will I go back and buy that other shirt. Gee, I see someone thought this review was funny. Must be the owner or his son.

This place is primarily for the visitors of our great«Palm Canyon Drive» but every now and again I need to find something a little different and thats what I find here. The owners do a good job of pulling in a few new things often enough to keep it interesting and so that I know, when I get stuck, there will be something new and different when I go back. It is one of my main stops when friends and relatives visit. I guess that is why it is one of the longer lasting specialty shops in palm Springs

This a fun diversion form the touristy shops that line Palm Canyon. This is still touristy, but the tschotskes are Southwestern in flair and style and you can find unusual gifts to bring back to your office mates. Go in here with a sense of adventure and humor and you should not be too disappointed.

The shopping basically sucks here on the main drag in Palm Springs. All the same tourist junk you see everywhere. This spot at least has a few good and unique items, though the best stuff is in the window.
