One of Our favorite places to eat in Palm Springs. It feels like you are in Mexico.

This place is beautiful and the ambiance is romantic and pretty. Staff is nice but their food is just so plain. I’ve been here a few times just because of the location but their food tastes very commercial. Nothing unique about their food unfortunately.

Totally average Mexican food, nothing special. The service was also average. Not bad, just not great either. We got the Avocado salad which was lettuce, tomato and guacamole. Although, I think I got a bad batch of avocados. We also had chicken enchiladas. I have to say, the chips and salsa that are complimentary were probably the best part! Margaritas are also quite big and pretty strong! The patio has misters and fans, but there’s also A/C indoor seating.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in the middle of the desert. Delicious guacamole, salsa, queso fondido, chicken tostada and margaritas!

Great food, beautiful atmosphere, good service, great drinks, we were out of robbers visiting and this place was like an oasis in the city. Just big enough to seat many and just small enough to be intimate. Loved it!

When my boyfriend and I first got to Palm Springs for our mini-vacay, we decided to kick things off at Mirasol. At first, we were slightly hesitant because of the negative reviews, but our friend was having his wedding catered by them & we figured it had to be good. Glad we weren’t swayed by bad reviews. First off, the ambiance is beautiful. Outdoor seating is amazing, especially while sitting out there during dusk. You can see the tops of the mountains and the patio is private so you feel like you’re tucked away from the city. As for service, I have been reading some not so nice reviews but personally our server was great. He was friendly & gave us our own bottle of their delicious hot sauce. And he also brought out each variety of salsa for our chips just to be thoughtful. I think the speed was decent, but I also know that when a server has a big section like ours did that there’s no issue with having a little patience. And quite honestly, our drinks never went empty and we were in no rush. Our food was amazing, we had two different shrimp dishes. And the salsa that comes up with your chips, was addictive. My boyfriend had a michelada that he is still talking about. And out of all the places we went, my boyfriend said Mirasol was his favorite. I think the best piece of advice I can give, is give this place a shot for yourself. I picked up that some of the PS crowd are a little hard to please, so I would only take all the negative reviews with a grain of salt. =)

Amazing gem in the Palm Springs area. We lucked out with El Mirasol on Mother’s Day when the other Mexican restaurant we were considering was closed on Sundays. El Mirasol is easy to find with a small parking area off the main road, behind the hotel. You walk through a gorgeous arbor tunnel to the host/hostess desk. Our table of 7 + 2 kids were seated in the beautiful patio area as soon as they were able to move a few small tables together. The patio is in a courtyard, surrounded by tall walls which kept out the strong winds. Trees and flowers line the outside of the courtyard and colorful lights are strung from corner to corner. They are also dog-friendly on the patio. Each woman in our party was provided with a red, long-stem rose for Mother’s Day(amazingly kind touch). The staff was incredible attentive and kind. Doting all over the kids and constantly asking if we needed anything else. We started off with some tasty sangria and margaritas, fresh chips & salsa. The plates range from $ 14 – 20. We ordered a mixture of carnitas, shrimp dona diabla, enchiladas, & burritos and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the taste and amount provided. If you are looking for a nice, romantic meal(or, even just an amazing meal) you don’t want to miss this El Mirasol at Los Arboles.

I’m not sure how two family owned restaurants can be so different. My husband and I have been frequenting the South location of this restaurant for 17 years. We came to expect amazing margaritas, flavorful food, excellent service. We were in the North part of Palm Springs for another event and decided to have dinner at the North location assuming it would be great, but boy were we ever disappointed. We sat at the table for ten minutes before we were approached for a drink order. The margaritas arrived and were OK. We ordered dishes we’ve been ordering at the South location for years and they came out bland as American diner food… No kick, lacking flavour, salt and spice. Waiter never checked back to see if food was ok, water glasses sat empty for 30 minutes… Just mediocre food and service. While the atmosphere is very nice at the North location… Go to the South location if you want really good food and service.

We had a good time here on Cinco de Mayo. The patio is a lovely spot. Given the holiday, we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. We had a drink at the bar, were served chips and salsa, and the staff apologized a couple times for the wait even though it wasn’t long at all. I had chile verde, and it was very good. I wouldn’t hesitate to get it again. The rice and beans were decent. Everyone else in my party was similarly pleased with their choices. We shared a couple orders of flan for dessert, it was good, could have been more custardy, but good. Service was first rate, prompt and very friendly. We will certainly visit again.

Beautiful courtyard and DELICIOUS cheese dip. I’d do 3.5 if that was an option. Definitely worth going to for the patio and friendly service.

I love this restaurant, The outside atmosphere is lovely. They have a garden courtyard with live music. Breakfast is fantastic and if your here for lunch I highly suggest the carnitas salad.

Let’s talk restrooms ! I always say if you’ll return to the restroom you’ll return to the establishment and this place has a nice! I ordered the carnitas tacos with vegetables instead of rice & beans. I could have just had a plate of the vegetables and been happy. I do love garlic though. Also got the house margarita which is always good. They have a guitarist who plays beautifully, and the sitting is just awesome. When I’m back next year I will come again. The only reason it isn’t five stars is the carnitas were burger shaped which was odd to me and just threw me off. Are they really patties? The staff was nice, the restaurant was very inviting and would be great place to meet friends

Found this really nice place in Palm Springs. The courtyard seating is a must if it’s nice outside. Feels like a little enclosed paradise. One couple brought their dog which I thought was neat. The food was great. Service was great. Margaritas were tasty. The salsa could have had a bit more flavor. You could tell it was fresh, but needed some more kick.

It’s all about the patio here. It is really nice and pretty when lit up at night. But, the food wasn’t anything special. And the service was pretty non existent. This is your run of the mill Mexican food made for the masses. Nothing inventive or creative or the ‘best’ of any traditional Mexican dish here. And the margaritas are shamelessly glugged out of a premixed jug that looks like industrial cleaner at the bar. The best thing we had was the queso fundido, but the rest was pretty forgettable.

Come for the atmosphere and setting, but consider eating elsewhere. During a recent visit to Palm Springs we found our way to El Mirasol. There’s a small parking lot in the back. You enter via a charming walkway covered by a canopy of trees that transports you to a truly relaxing and inspiring walled patio — full of plants, umbrella-shaded tables, and comfortable chairs. The service was also very good — our waiter arrived quickly and kept an eye on our needs. El Mirasol looks like a winner, but it all falls apart when the food arrives. Our group ordered tacos, burritos, and salads. We uniformly agreed that it was some of the worst examples we’d ever eaten. The corn tortillas of my taco were soggy, the chicken was flavorless and appeared to have been boiled or microwaved, the lettuce was limp, and the sauce flavorless. The burrito was thick with flavorless cheese and the same boiled chicken. Perhaps there are some redeeming items on the menu, but if you can’t get the tacos right, then you really don’t get to call yourself a Mexican restaurant.

Coming here always ! Used to come religiously to las casuelas but it went down so I got on here and started my search for amazing Mexican food. Incredible service ! I mean GREAT ! Please order: QUESO fundido ! Who doesn’t love cheese. I got the pepita shrimp, the quality of shrimp was amazing. My sister got the carne asada and the meat was very flavorful and tender just how we like it. I also got the skinny margarita blended, best idea. Very cute atmosphere too ! All around 5+ stars

Hands down the best Mexican food I have ever had! I believe that this means a lot coming from someone who lives in Southern California. My boyfriend and I went around 8 pm on a Tuesday and got a table in a little nook of the patio. There were trees blocking off the street and lights were hanging in the trees! It was super romantic! Now, for the food, I ordered the Pollo Mole, and OMG, it was so, amazingly flavorful. You could taste the subtle hint of chocolate and the other spices. It had some serious depth! The BF order shrimp Piccoli? It was named something like that. It had delicious red sauce that was slightly spicy and garlicky. We will definitely be back!

I almost missed this restaurant because it’s hidden away although it’s on a main road. I’m so glad I found it because I was in dire need of good Mexican food here in Palm Springs. The Entrée choices are carefully constructed and vary according to what part of Mexico the dish is known for. I chose the Pollo con Pipián, which is white meat chicken in a roasted pumpkin seed sauce with the consistency of molé but spicy instead of sweet. The sauce was just the way my dad makes it but my issue with the dish is that the sauce is poured atop of the chicken and not cooked into the sauce which makes a huge difference. The beans were better than the rice but the freshly hand-made corn tortillas made up for that. The House margarita was very strong and my gf couldn’t finish it so I did. I got a few micheladas which lacked ice but had a nice kick at the end. Needlessly to say, I left buzzed, stuffed, and happy.
