We were selling a business. Met with Hughes at his office, very impressive furniture and views. He expressed being bothered by how another owner of a similar business had mistreated him, which had nothing to do with us or our business. Selling price he flirted with was extremely low. Low price = quick sell = quick commission? Who knows. But the biggest problem, we agreed to meet afterwards that same day at our business for further discussion, Hughes never showed up. No phone call, no text, no email, perhaps he wasn’t interested? Were we paying for whoever had done him wrong? Who knows, but this is an awful way to treat potential clients. We listed our business online, googled forms and whatever questions we had, generated traffic and the business was sold. Here’s the best part, the sale of the business put 83% more money in our pockets than had we listed with Hughes.

We were in the process of purchasing a business and thought we had a valid contract. On 2÷27÷2014 I asked a question about the contract, and Bob Hughes responded the same day. On the next day I had yet to receive a copy of the contract and want to see a copy that I thought was in place before we went into escrow. I as then told by Hughes«There is no deal no more demands.» I latter learned Bob stated there was no contract. Lesson: I believe Bob Hughes thinks it is OK to tell less than the truth because he thinks he can do whatever he likes. Also, Bob will insist on using the Escrow Connection and I would avoid them like the plague. I will probably end up either going to arbitration or just sue him and the seller. I think, but have no proof, what happened here is that another buyer extended a better offer, and we were cut out of the deal. He kept saying some Canadians were coming to look at the business. I want these in my hand so that I know what exactly has been agreed to. Please get this to me today ASAP. Thanks. ________________________________________ From: bob hughes Date: Thu, 27 Feb 201423:17:22 +0000 Right, the only thing is that(the owner) may not have all the stuff you requested. Phil is meeting with him Monday AM before I take to escrow to make sure we are all on the same page. If Phil brings in the deposit, I will assume that all is well. bob Sent: Thursday, February 27, 20142:18PM To: Bob Hughes Bob, I want to make sure we are all on the same page. The contract as I modified is the main contract with the only difference being the price. Is that correct?
