Pete, Pam and Wendy were excellent hosts! We had a fantastic time enjoying their outdoor patio. We ate great food, drank excellent wine and laughed the night away. Pete’s hideaway feels like my new home away from home when in Palm Springs!

worst place ever !!! so unprofessional !! no menu, no pricing got charged for different plates than i ordered but honestly im not surprised with all these bad reviews on here!!! the owner was so ignorant !! hung up on me when i asked for a refund how unprofessional ! told me to fuck off and she was the owner !! i got no total and was not asked for a name for my togo order !! even resulted in the police showing up which was no help at all ! still no refund but its ok that is what small claims court is for i will never send anyone to this place nor talk good about it! i gotta say one of the worst experiences i have ever had in palm springs worst ever !!! i found it hilarious when the police show up all the owner could say was this isnt fair this isnt fair !!! too funny mabe you should not be running a business if you think things arent fair !!(life isnt fair so wake up) also ordered the mac n cheese let me say that again mac and cheese but no i got spaghetti noodles and flavorless cheese sauce nothing like the Unilocal pic definitely false advertisement !! this place needs more than bar rescue(nick n.) but totally agree with you man!

I am so bummed about my experience! I used to live around the corner and I absolutely loved this place. I was surprised that they cut down their menu, but I think it was a great idea to do so, even though they got rid of some of my favorite items. Their portions are now about half if not less than they used to be, and the prices went up. Looks like they aren’t doing too well if this is the case. We ordered a salad and the fried chicken, both portions were way too small for the price. The fried chicken was about 22 dollars plus tax and tip and it was simply not worth it. It made me so sad. The flavor of the chicken was perfect but the pieces were so small that it was as if we were eating 4 chicken wings. All the pieces were about a half the size of my palm and all bone. The corn on the cob was completely frozen all the way through. The salad although still delicious as before, is maybe the size of a side salad for 2, with barely any chicken. It used to be huge! I’m so sad that this place is no longer the same. I didn’t bring it up at the restaurant as I have read and heard that they don’t take criticism very well and I didn’t want to make a scene. Looks like they don’t read these reviews either. Hope they turn this around.

Excellent Pub/Restaurant — Big Flat Screen TV’s to watch Monday night Football. Food is a bit pricey so I ordered the Hamburger and fries. Excellent tasting meat!!! Highly recommended for the food and watching Sports and meeting up with friends!

Only way to describe this place is: A perfect candidate for Bar Rescue. Everything on the menu is massively over priced. Massively… by like $ 4 or $ 5. If paying $ 14 for 5 pieces of shrimp is your thing, go for it. $ 24 for shrimp scampi? Are you out of your mind? We ordered the pig butthole, I mean calamari. I mean, I’m not one to accuse, but if you order calamari and all you get are rings and no tentacles, it leads me to believe it’s pig butthole. Now, I don’t mind me some fine pig butthole, but I do mind paying calamari prices. The staff and owner are very nice however. All the greatest intentions in the world but no direction with the business…

Three stars overall and mostly for the very friendly service and welcoming staff we went in. The menu is a bit scrambled with burgers, pastas, fried chicken– it seemed like it needed an identity. The server was VERY nice but the Food is about a two½ star. My ‘ribeye’ was tough and grissly– not sure it was a ribeye it was so thin. The scampi was good but too saucy but really fresh shrimp. Spaghetti and meatballs were ok but all of the food had sat and was lukewarm. Overall probably better for drinks and stopping in for a ‘final final’ instead of dinner.

The salad was the only thing I like in tonight dinner. WOW. Did Pete hide the Chef? I went with 2 other friends. We tried it and will never be back.

Decent place to get a good burger. The owner was friendly. I can understand why some might be put off as the atmosphere is kinda like a straight version of Tool Shed. But being a gay couple, we were welcome there and he joked with us for most our meal. So if you give the people there a chance, you will find decent food with friendly service. Recommend the Chicken Wings for an appetizer along with the burgers…

I haven’t been back till this past week. What can I say. They took a not so great place and made it worst. The chairs still have screws popping up so you poke your hand or back side. They wrapped a couple of posts with holiday lights. YUCK And not even the same kind of lights on each pole. Somebody must of come in and said«Look what I found at home» Really, that looks classy. They also added a TV in the dining area. I guess«cheap bar» atmosphere is what they are going for in the dining room. Not really a place for anything other than a burger. The lounge singer’s music was fighting with the TV volume. So décor sucks. On to the food. I wasn’t in the mood for a burger so we each ordered entrees, Me the ribs and my dining buddy I forget and so did he, I just called him asking. He said it was so memorable he didn’t remember. The ribs plate was suppose to be a full rack of ribs for $ 25. It was more like ¾ rack. I think they take some off for their appetizer plates. So I feel cheated it wasn’t a full rack. They were ok, and the service was ok. Though the décor and sole sucking atmosphere will keep me from going back anytime soon.

We will be celebrating my birthday at Pete’s Hideaway for years to come. I had such a great experience with Pete and his family. Thank you. I am only 35 now, but I search and search for Spaghetti and meatballs. I have found the best here at Pete’s!

We walked in to a very dimly lit unwelcoming environment. It was easy to get the feeling that this is more of a bar than a restaurant. You enter in the side of the building where there is a bar and high top tables against the wall. We chose to go to the front of the place where there was more light and tables that don’t require a ladder. Unfortunately we were out of site out of mind because apparently the only person waiting tables was also the bar tender and this place seems to cater to those who prefer a liquid lunch. After waiting about 10 minutes, we finally had our drink order taken. I had to wait another 5 to 10 minutes to get my coke. Our server disappeared into the darkened bar area after serving our drinks and came back about another 10 minutes later and took our order. I asked if I could have my chicken sandwich without onion and she complied that would be no problem. It took about 15 minutes to get our food which was much faster than I thought since during that time I was on Unilocal reading reviews about this place(that should tell you how bad of an experience this was). Food was delivered in very nice baskets. It looked very good. Unfortunately the cook smothered my sandwich with onions. I couldn’t even eat the bread. The chicken however was really good. The server did come over later to ask how we were and I showed her the mountain of onions piled next to my plate. She offered to get me a new sandwich but by that time we had spent more time there than we had cared to. On the plus side she did take $ 5.00 off the bill. Speaking of the bill we figured if we wanted to get out of there sometime this month we would go to the bar and pay our bill. Not sure why but even that process seemed to take a while. And she forgot to give us our receipt so we had to ask for it. Final thoughts: If you want to go have a drink then maybe this place is for you. If you want a restaurant experience I would say you’d have a better time next door at KFC. While I wanted to be fair and give Pete’s Hideaway a better rating I don’t think they deserved it, at least with our experience. I can’t say if it’s like that there all the time. The whole time we were there I didn’t feel welcomed. No refills were offered. Timely assistance was very poor. Order got messed up. Bill was never given to us so we had to go to the bar to pay it. Our whole lunch experience was over an hour for a place with only 11 people in it. I wouldn’t recommend going there on a lunch break.

We walk by this place frequently and decided to give them a «second chance» since our first visit wasn’t very inviting. After reading most of the other reviews I can see that they have had some rough spots to get through… and I can honestly say we had a great time! Our bartender was a real hoot and kept us laughing while pouring a generous glass of chardonnay… good chardonnay too! We order the cheeseburger sliders with fries and they were really good… cooked just right. Sorry to see a couple of people felt unwelcome(similar to our first time), but perhaps things they are a changing! We will go back soon!

Came here for drinks and karaōke. Love the Frank Sinatra karaōke. Had the owner singing My Way… one of my favorite Sinatra sings. Their drinks are strong and perfectly made. I had a blast! Can’t wait to come back.

Also genau drei Sterne«Ja, ganz ok».

Such an amazing atmosphere! Food and service was excellent! Live band on point, very intimate setting :) I wish they would adjust the lighting a bit, could hardly see the menu to order food but overall good first time!
