I’ve been here a handful of times and it’s always a hit and miss but after today I will not be returning I am soooo disappointed. I dont know if its a different cook but the food was awful. I’ve ordered tortas in the past, never complained. They weren’t great but weren’t bad either. I ordered 25 tacos and a carnitas torta with no tomato. Tacos were practically meatless and not to mention the torta. At first glance I figured I was eating a vegetarian torta. Nothing but beans, lettuce, and tomatoes … yes tomatoes even after I specifically requested no tomatoes. So halfway through when meat fonally appeared it was all fat. No meat. Just fat. I felt sick to my stomach. I tried eating a taco but they were ridiculously greasy.

It has a letter grade of an «A» I’m gonna say this restaurant is a three because it is very clean, the host was nice seem friendly. The Horchata was delicious. How ever I got Menudo and it was presented very nice and in a cool plate. But it was kinda tasteless. Then got a burrito and taco and the meat wasn’t that bad. But just tasted like it was really cheap meat that was used. Oh while you wait you get salsa and chips and well the chips were good, the salsa was sweet tasting. So in my point of view it wasn’t a bad place it just not for me.

This food is not authentic, as the girl that works there told me they’re not even Mexican owners. So that tells you a lot. Wait is extremely long, and the two stars I gave was because the drinks horchata and Jamaica are really good, but that’s it

So the name attracted me . The Gf and I visited and got a Torta and some birria the food was taco bell style Mexican not like an OG spot. we asked the girl at the counter what part of Mexico the owners were from so we can try and pinpoint the flavors and she replied«El Salvador« Yuck ! never eating there again

This place has so much potential. Their burritos are amazing and fresher tasting than my all-time fave Mi Ranchito’s…but there are 2 really annoying things. First off, they always take forever. It took half an hour to make one burrito which cost me my entire lunch break. Secondly, there’s this male cashier there who does that«You should get this, its reeeeally good!» thing that a lot of servers do. I gave him my order but before putting it in, he repeatedly brought up his suggestion… at least 4 times. I’m all for promoting variety but don’t pester me when I’ve already decided what I want(I know that sounds a little mean but one time I actually DID go with his suggestion and it was the nastiest thing I ever tasted in life… which brings me to a good piece of advice…) DONOTEATTHEWETBURRITOS. I tried drowning it in Mi Ranchito sauce but not a bite could be salvaged. I had to throw it away it made me so sick.

I thought it was good tasty meat and friendly service, looks like an up and comming mom and pops spots, I’d defitnetly go back, the only reason I didn’t give them a 4 or 5 was cause there was no soups but the service.was.great

I really wanted to like this place after reading reviews… The 2 star is for good service. First time I came was taco Tuesdays, I was told I had to order a minimum of at least 3 tacos. Not the 2 I wanted. Fine I ordered 3 carne asada tacos… My first bite was rough the tortilla was soggy? They literally give you a teaspoon of meat. that was very tough and almost old tasting, no flavor at all not even salt. I didn’t eat the other two way to unappealing. The cashier had given me a flyer showing their specials so about 2 weeks later my coworker wanted asada fries, Wednesday special was $ 4 Scorreeee! Right. Lol least that’s what I was thinking, once again very very stingy on the carne… cheese sauce sucked. The whole thing lacked flavor and appeal, tried to give leftovers to the kids and they wouldn’t even touch it… Kids not eat cheese and fries!!! Woah. So about a month later(today) after I’ve obviously forgotten my first two experiences I decide let’s try this again… Can’t really go wrong with carne asada fries right? Unless there’s no carne asada! Wth?! It’s lunch time and the restaurant is empty! Whatever… So she offers to substitute the meat to carnitas. yummy right?! Except they are so darn stingy with the meat, it literally was a game of hide and seek with the meat! Smh… The fries are so undercooked the bland canned«cheese» sauce just soaks into them making them soggy, weird and wiggly. OK I tried, I’ll continue to waste my money at Mi Ranchito or Que Rico’s from now on until the Antelope Valley wizes up and opens an Alberto’s! Hint hint.

I had the carne asada fries from here yesterday and let me tell you they were delicious, my kids liked them also. The only bad thing is that you have to wait more than 20 minutes for your food due to the fact that theres only one cook doing everything. The girl that took my order was very nice. I will go back but next time ill call first and place my order.

Like this place alot but took them a while to get my food done. Maybe because they had just opened? Either way the cashier was awesome she explained what ever item I had questions about. she also brought me chips and salsa which I believe was the best part AWESOME! LOL. When I ate my torta oh man it was mouth watering it tasted so delicious I had never had such a good torta before! I will be coming back. not often but will be back! Thank you for the awesome customer service and the amazing food! Oh and by the way the Horchata it’s to die for! It tasted pretty good. Hopefully this place never changes it is amazing and very clean as well.

Very bad food and service we ordered to go fish ceviche the amount of food was very tiny a small container with hot fish wow who on earth makes hot ceviche and when u call and complain the lady on the phone tells me iam sorry you are not happy with the size or the service. This is not authentic Mexican food no way in hell I will be coming back. One tip to the owner or the chef, you never make ceviche hot what a joke. supposed to be fresh and cold.

It’s really sad to say this but this is my last time coming here. They raised the prices and the changed the meat of the milanesa. My favorite torta is milanesa I started coming here because it was nice and thin. But now it’s breaded carne asada. Also you can’t order individual tacos anymore. Only in increments of 3, what if I don’t want 3? But 2 or 4? I have to order either 3 or 6, it just doesn’t make sense to me.

I’ve ordered food from this place multiple times. I usually have to call 30 minutes before my lunch and I still have to wait another 10 minutes once I get there. With that said, the birra(beef chunks stewed in a tomato chili sauce but not spicy) is really good, although they don’t always have some available which is such a bummer. The first time I ordered the birria plate the girl working there said it wasn’t served with rice and beans. Now when I order I make sure to indicate I want the plate with rice and beans. Seems like they are still trying to find their groove. The food is really good and reminds me of the fancy mexican joints out in East LA. They always have aguas frescas like horchata, jamica and ensalada. This place has potential and I hope they work out all the little kinks.

Such a great surprise! While waiting for the DMV, we order the wet burrito and WOW. So delicious! And the service was outstanding. Better testing food than many other Mexican chain restaurants we’ve been to. We will definitely be back.

On my very own taco trek I was trying to find a place called Taco Tek. It was a place I used to eat at as a kid and I heard it was back. What I found instead was La Cocina De Mama. I was with my own mom on one of our annual adventures and we wanted tacos. It wasn’t what we were looking for but we thought we would give it a try anyway. Are we ever glad we did. It was early when we got there so we were the only ones in the whole place. The staff was friendly and welcomed us in. She could tell we were newcomers and explained the chalk board menues to us. The tacos is what I gravitated to so I don’t really know what is on the rest of the menu. I can tell you that they are only $ 1.25 per taco regardless of meat. $ 1.00 after 6:00PM. After hearing what some of the meats are my mom and I decided on two pollo tacos, one carne asada, one al pastor and one sudero. I still don’t really know what the latter is. I think we were told it was beef but it seemed to be more like pork. It was good whatever it was. Everything was pretty good. The only thing I would change is the carne asada. It had a ton of flavor but that was on the salty side. As a guy sensetive to the taste of salt it was too much. Regardless, I had no problem eating any of my three tacos. Each was delivered in two corn tortillas and topped with cilantro and onion. Classic tacos just the way I like them. I squeezed some lime over each. The pollo benefited the best from that. There is just something magical about poultry and citrus together. The asada worked well with the lime too though I felt I should have been drinking tequila between bites with the salt and lime. As for the al pastor, brilliant. I could taste the spice and the pineapple in various layers on my tongue. Delicious all around. It turns out, this new taco joint in East Palmdale offers more surprises than just great tacos. How about some homemade chips and salsa? Too predictable? Well then, toss is some homemade chicharones(pork rinds) too. Oh yeah, three different hot sauces as well. A medium green sauce, a red hot sauce and a habanero fire sauce. A dab of each on the chicharones is great way to sample. A better way to sample is to come down here yourself and see what it is all about. I hope La Cocina De Mama is going to stick around for a good long time ’cause Mama, I’m coming home.
