Nice little place, friendly service, good quality food. I had a cheeseburger and fries and it was pretty good. I might rate it higher if I try their fish, since that’s their specialty, but I just don’t have a taste for seafood.

Broiled Scrod with Lemon won the first half of a star(in a good way). Enthusiastic waitress won the second half. Unfortunately that was it. Literally came close to falling out of my booth. Styrofoam bowl filled with a defrosted bag of vegetables on my platter, next to the metal tray of scrod. You read right — Styrofoam. Vegetables that I have fortunately not seen since 6th grade elementary school. I literally had to try each vegetable one by one in order to attempt to determine which one was the most offensive. While none of them were actually edible, the order for those curious went in order of being stranded on a desert island and real hungry: green bean, carrot, corn, pea. Shocking to see a good quality of fish, prepared well, accompanied by something so amazingly lazy.

Great place, I’ve been there a couple of times; it’s been great both times. Friendly staff, great service, great food, even better prices. I had the twin lobster dinner for less than $ 20.

I give CJ’s four stars for their $ 10 weekday dinner and $ 20 lobster specials. They get three stars for everything else. CJ’s has a dozen items to choose from on special including soup or salad, potato or rice, cole slaw or vegetable, dessert, and coffee. You will not go home hungry. Some of the special entrees are very good. I suggest shrimp or chicken in their lemon butter cream sauce. The blue cheese dressing on the salad is a good choice. The salad is only iceberg lettuce, but it’s customary for the area. I would skip the vegetable and order the cole slaw. You can skip the dessert too(usually pudding), but the coffee is fine. The service has always been good. The atmosphere is mom and pop. A carafe of wine is less than $ 14, but they do have a full bar, if you want something like a high ball or gin and tonic or a real martini – not the tony kind. In the summer of 2010 they were serving double lobsters for $ 20. You can’t beat the value. They have high quality lobster rolls. One negative for some people. They only accept cash, but with their dinner specials, it’s very affordable. This is not a late night place. I think they close at 8 pm on weekdays. We like to go around 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm on weekdays(Sunday through Thursday) and never have to wait to be seated.
