Happy to see a younger place to visit in Pslmetto, staff was friendly and owner is surly a people person, I mention this first and foremost, case palmetto has a lot to work on still in becoming friendly. As for our visit clean new place, lots of room food we chose was pressed Cubans n soup of the day, followed by cookies just could not pass up the macadamia nut once, there special sauce for their Cubans is wonderful to the pallet! A bit pricey but there still new and over time thy will get a better fell of what there customers won’t at a comparable price!

I’m relieved there is something close and the food is great. I get they are new and growing — but I can see the owner put a LOT into making a place to eat near Snead Island. The servings are very generous.

I heard that the Snead Island Deli had opened and as I live nearby, had to drop in and«scout» it out. I also wanted to try the Big Olaf ice cream! We talked to Kevin the manager, who is very personable and earnestly wants to make this a great business.(We did talk shop a little, I couldn’t help myself and I think he is on the right track). We certainly got excellent service and it was nice to have a chat as he wasn’t too busy when we stopped in. The ice cream was good, the cookies and donuts are baked on site, and I hear the Cuban sandwiches are good. I will have to go back and give them all a try next time. The location is great for me, so I wish them the best!

This is a great little deli. The subs were piled high with meat and cheese, the Veges on top were fresh, and they tasted delicious! We also had breakfast. The donuts were really good and so was the sausage egg and cheese croissant sandwich. I know they just opened and I hope they continue to grow and develop. For now though, high quality food! And great service!

We came in today with a party of 3 and had their Snead Island Cuban x2 and their 12inch roast beef. The two ladies working were friendly, but the subs were made slowly in comparison to Publix. They slice the meat, which adds time, but then again so does Publix when you order a Boar’s Head sub. With how slow these subs were made, I have to wonder how they manage during busy hours as we were the only people in the store at the time. Waiting aside, the Cubans were excellent and the roast beef was«meh». Prices are nice and competitive and the staff was friendly. Publix still reigns supreme in my book with their Boar’s Head sandwiches, but this is a pretty good alternative. Pros Cuban was great, roast beef was average Friendly staff Cons You’ll be waiting around 5 – 8 minutes for your Cuban if you want it pressed, and this is assuming you’re the only ones in the store. This is what ultimately cost them a star. Not bad, we will be back and hopefully the employees will be better trained in the future as this is apparently a new establishment.

Well, I was hoping the Palmetto area was going to get a new viable restaurant choice, but it was quite disappointing. When we got here, party of 3, 2:50 pm, we were the only ones here. The counter clerk was on her cell phone, and did not acknowledge us for 5 minutes. We ordered 2 Cubans and an ice cream. Without hanging up her cell phone she started scooping the ice cream. I had to ask her to make Cubans first, so we could all dine together. Cubans were sub par and skimpy for $ 7.99 each, way too much yellow mustard and pickles and way too little ham, pork and cheese. Most people must already know this as we were receipt order #2 for the day. Best of luck to them, but there are other places local with way better cuban sandwiches.

I went in once and got a Cuban which was pretty good, the only problem was that the middle was not hot so I had to heat it up again. I’m confused on their hours because on Unilocal it says they are open until 10:00pm. I tried calling one day at around 9:15pm to order something but no one answered. I then passed by there around 9:30pm but they were already closed. They need to change their hours if they are planning on closing ahead of time.

We live in Palmetto and met friends for ice cream one evening last week. There were eight of us altogether. When you walk in, the place is very sparse with large areas of open space and bright lights. It makes you feel instantly aware of yourself and uncomfortable. We went right to the ice cream freezer, which was completely iced over. Probably 12 selections of local ice cream. The young lady who assisted us was very nice and helpful. I had heard their single scoops were huge so I asked if we could have two flavors in one single scoop. She happily obliged. The problem came from the other woman(maybe a manager?) who kept hovering around asking, «is that two scoops? Is that two scoops?» Each time she was told it was not two scoops just a single scoop in two smaller portions, she rolled her eyes and looked at us suspiciously. The manager seemed completely put out by us, even despite ringing up $ 28 worth of ice cream! We looked in at the pizza station and the sandwich prep area. The prices on the board seem a little high. A one topping pizza was $ 22. When we saw there was a deli in our neighborhood, we were ecstatic. I hoped to ride our bikes over and walk in to a cozy, inviting space with lots of prepared food such as macaroni salad, maybe an olive bar, a wine section, etc. This is nothing but a convenience store, albeit very sparsely stocked. All in all, quite an uncomfortable experience. We will not be back.
