Visited this restaurant today and our server was great, food was great. Big problem: was talking to an employee about a couple different items on the menu. While she was explaining the menu to us a manager rudely interrupted from several booths away. Firstly, he addressed the employee by the wrong name, he then asked her«you still working or what?» After she walked away I could see him angrily talking to her. I walked over to the rest room and I heard him curse at the employee. Not cool. I understand if you need to talk to or correct an employee, but this is something that should never be done in front of customers. It was sad to see management treat their employees like this.

I stopped by this place by chance while on a cross-state road trip because we got off the interstate to buy gas and stumbled upon this place. The staff was friendly, but the food was only below average. I had a mushroom and Swiss cheese burger, which is oddly served with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. It was cooked as requested(medium), and was juicy but it seemed as if the beef was unseasoned and was lighter than the advertised ½ pound patty. The french fries were also unseasoned. The coffee was the best part of the meal. The menu is probably too extensive for the kitchen and the cook to keep up the quality. If they scaled the menu down and focused on a few quality choices this place would be better.

Well stocked bar with many beers on tap. Diverse food menu that apparently specializes in Southern style fried chicken and other comfort foods. Not a diner, but not a bar. Interesting concept. Perfect place for the locals out in the countryside. Service: I was in the area, and stopped in to see their lunch and daily specials. I said I was going to make a to go order and asked if there were was a lunch menu or specials. I was handed a menu and she left to take care if orher patrons. The hostess took a bit to get back to me. I waited about 8 mins for her to finally take my order. I saw a Monday special of a burger, pickle and fries for 6.99. Not bad I thought. When I made the order, the hostess said it was for dine in only. No where on the menu did it specify that! So I ended up paying $ 9.99 for a burger and there was a $ 1.00 up charge for fries. I wasn’t happy. Food: The burger was good, though the bun was soggy by the time I got to my destination. I noticed on other dine in reviews, soggy buns were not uncommon. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger and it had thinly sliced raw red onions, portobella mushrooms, tomato and a pickle spear on the side. It was crafted nicely. The fries were average, and not worth the up charge. My meal would have been WELLWORTH $ 6.99. But not $ 11.00 with no drink, slow take out service and misleading specials. I almost felt like they were discouraging me from eating there. Overall: If you are in the area(and there isn’t too much in Palmyra) and want a nice atmosphere that is not quite bar, not quite diner, clean, with nice updates, this is a good option. Personally, I would drive to hershey for what was paid. I would give this place another Chance since they do have a vast menu and tap selection. Just don’t know when that will ever happen.

This was my first time here and I heard it was a pretty good place, but the service was exceptionally slow. We waited at least 30 minutes for our food. I ordered the meatloaf and my first bite was almost cold. My friends ordered soup as a side(expecting it to come before the entrée) but it came well after all the food was out. We never got refills on our water after asking and I had to wait a few minutes for silverware with my food in front of me. We asked the bartender for silverware and she brushed us off. The food was kind of average. My friends really liked the mushroom barely soup, though.

Family friendly restaurant. Fried chicken was great and I liked my spinach artichoke pizza. Tomato soup was sweet and reminds me of spaghettios. We would come back again!

Food is mediocre at best. Caesar salad was so over dressed we couldn’t eat it. Bacon cheeseburger came out with a soggy bun and unseasoned beef. My girlfriend thought my bacon tasted like kerosene LOL Not funny. She ordered the stuffed meatloaf. Presentation was pretty sad. Smothered in a gravy with a consistency that made it look a week old, and a lame orange slice in the side for color I guess? She ate maybe a quarter of it and was«full». We couldn’t wait to leave and never go back. If you like beer, they do have 54 beers on tap! Just eat before you go.

Food, drinks and dessert are good. Service takes time. Only complaint we had was one of our baked tomatoes soup came with burnt cheese on top.

This place is good. Especially when you compare it to the competition– since you’re in Palmyra, there isn’t much. I like the 50+ beers on tap, the friendly bartender and the gooey mozzarella sticks. Prices are soooo delightfully cheap. Signature cocktails are $ 6.50 and that’s unheard of down my way. We had a beer flight and moved on to cocktails. Don’t get the pomegranate tequila one, as I think it’s just a glass full of liquor. So if that’s your thing, go for it. It made me throw up :/I’ll be back.

I have been here a few times and the food has always been decent. The portions are a good size and the beer selection is extensive. Funck’s has been remodeled, and the updated bar area and seating is really nice. I will definitely return. Service has always been good as well.

Where to start… this place is right outside of Hershey and looks like the usual mom and pop spot until you take a look at the menu and meet the staff. The servers are very friendly and welcoming, they went out of their way to accommodate us. The food is AMAZING!!! The price you pay for the quality and amount of food is minimal. Kudos to the chef, the staff and the owners for providing down home comfort food at a great price!!! We will definitely be back when we come back to visit.

Went to lunch/brunch today, and very dissatisfied. My daughter ordered chicken, baked potato and salad. I ordered breakfast combo — eggs and pancakes. We waited almost 30 minutes for our food, no follow up or visit back by waiter on fresh coffee or water, or anything. Finally we were about to leave because we thought they forgot us, and our food came out — pancakes like leather, chicken was dry, toast was stale, eggs were overcooked. It was inedible. we left. This place has gone downhill from when we used to come here several years ago.

Funck’s has done a beautiful job of creating a nice bar area and bringing a much needed night spot to Palmyra. The atmosphere and ‘feel’ of the bar is comfortable and yet slightly upscale. They have a wall of beer taps to make almost any venue jealous and the selection of beers is nicely varied. Emphasis on smaller breweries and regular ‘tap takeover’ events featuring regional favorites such as Victory and Evolution make them a player in the craft beer game. Having said that, it is clear that the locals have noticed and are showing up in droves. Having said that, there is very little opportunity to park on site, and we usually end up walking in from at least a block away. Having said that, there is often a very long wait for any sort of seating in the bar area, and often a line right out the door. Having said that there is never enough staff to handle this crush of customers and it quickly becomes extremely difficult to get served even a single beer. I’ll often stand and beg for attention at the bar while one of only 2 or 3 bartenders attempts to serve the crush of customers. I sadly award Funck’s with only 2 stars, because they truly have made an effort to create something good in this area. Unfortunately they are ill-equipped to handle the success that is literally standing outside their doors. It doesn’t matter how many taps you have if you don’t have the staff to serve the beer. This could be a great place. The ability to win or lose is within their own hands. I hope I can come back and update this review soon and praise the way they have solved this deal breaking problem.

Pros — a large selection of beers on tap. nice layout. tv’s. comfortable booths. Cons — bland and unseasoned food. I ordered a bbq smokehouse burger on a pretzel bun, the burger was cooked to order but really didn’t have much flavor. The fries had no seasoning, no salt, no pepper and were cold. My wife got the fried chicken and it didn’t really taste like much. The best part of her meal was the corn nuggets as a side. Waitress lacked any sort of personality, and the food took unusually long to get, even since we were before any dinner rush. Being season ticket holders at the nearby Hershey Bears, we’re always looking for new places to eat in the area. But we won’t be back to Funck’s.

First time here after they remodeled and dropped the word«family» from the restaurant name(they now have a bar inside). The menu was ambitious for this former diner-like restaurant. I asked about a food allergy and the server came back and said«he doesn’t see it in the recipe but won’t guarantee it doesn’t contain…» Not bolstering my confidence. Decided to go for wings. We waited 30 minutes while people around us who arrived after us were served dinner. Finally our food(a burger, a quesadilla, wings and kids pizza) arrived. Of the four dishes, two were hot and two were cold. I sent my overcooked but cold wings back. With the exception of the quesadilla, all the food was clearly fresh from the freezer. This is diner food with nicer decorations. I’m sure breakfasts are still great, but skip down the road to another place if you’re looking for something more than diner food for dinner.

My family and I did not much enjoy the food here. Although the seafood trio I ordered wasn’t bad, everything else was another story. Along with my meal, came with two sides. I got the Zucchini and carrots, and the cauliflower with bacon bits. Both dishes were extremely soggy and definitely did not seem fresh. Hubby had ¼ burger with fries. These fries were soggier than McDonald’s fries. The burger’s bread did not seem fresh. As far as the honey chicken wrap, the lettuce was old and the chicken tastes like cardboard. Although the décor was nice, as well as the waiters… the food was not.
