The restaurant is roughly 10 – 15 minutes drive from the Hershey Lodge and was totally worth venturing out for. I was in the area for a work conference and I was craving Asian food. The ethnic selection is super limited in Hershey but I was pleasantly surprised with the good food at Lin Garden. I dined in since I was getting cabin fever at the hotel but it’s definitely more of a take-out establishment. We ordered the dinner combination that comes with pork fried rice and an egg roll. The price for two dinner combo meals and a drink came up to be $ 16 something. Super cheap for Northern VA standards.

Very good price for good food. Ordered lunch special of Hot n Sour soup and peppered steak. Soup was tasty and a large bowl serving. Peppered steak was food and also generous serving for the price. Pleased

This is hands down my favorite Chinese in the area. They use fresh ingredients and have great flavor. The owners are very nice. They do get busy so make sure you leave enough time when ordering during dinner rush.

Been here about 3 times so far. The food is always good and I really like the people. They are super friendly. I’ll drive out of my way to be a customer of people who appreciate my business. And oh, the price to food ratio is very good as well. Super fast whether you are taking out or eating in.

Best chinese food in the region, better value than Vietnamese. In my short 7 days traveling in the region I been here with my family twice!

Good quality Chinese food at modest pricing. Service is fast, but could get easily swamped when multiple carry out orders come in. One cashier/prep person and one chef around 5pm on a weekday means grid-lock if they get a surge. Otherwise, the other Unilocal reviews are pretty accurate: surprisingly good Chinese food at a strip mall in an otherwise predominately Caucasian area. I would certainly order here again. My wife ordered the Shrimp & Broccoli and Egg Drop Soup, while I got the Hunan Chicken and a Pork Egg Roll. The Egg Roll was ok, but way too much wrapper, and pretty much from a frozen roll. The Hunan Chicken was very good, spicy, but not overpowering. Chicken was good, no strong flavor, so it was certainly fresh, decent quality meat. My wife had no complaints and said everything was good. Lots of MSG in everything, but that’s to be expected. Still tasted great. And no heart burn or other indigestion that night, nor the following day, so our food was prepared in a safe, clean manner. You probably want to ONLY order to-go food here. As the tables were sort of nasty, to the point that they felt sticky to touch. They’re clean, so this was just the varnish wearing off(I checked another table and it was in the same condition). We had to dine in since we were from out of town and the wife wanted Chinese for dinner.

Was pleasantly surprised. This little place is in a strip mall and if you are looking for atmosphere this is not the place. But the server was very nice and attentive. Service was great. The food was delicious and portions were generous. Would highly recommend.

Amazing food. Great for take-out. Not the best service for dining in, kind of confusing.

I never had a bad meal here. If you’re getting a take out on weekends during peak hours, be prepare to wait 45 minutes to an hour for your food. Sometime, the lady on the phone may say 30 minutes, don’t trust her. I haven’t explore the entire menu but the things I’ve ordered, they were always good. I love their fried rice, hot & sour soup, and garlic shrimp. Everything is made to order, so that’s why it’s so slow. I don’t mind it because I’m so used to it so I just adjust my time to fit their speed. I’d rather get wait a bit more to get good tasting food

Definitely worth it! The size is huge. I was shocked to find such a nice Chinese restaurant in a small town.

Surprising good American/Chinese shop in Cambelltown, Pa., on the way to Hershey, the chocolate capital of the USA. Located in a nondescript strip mall next to a nail salon(aren’t they all?), Lin Garden was a walk up to the counter to order place with 7 or 8 quad tables for those who preferred to eat in. The young woman who came up to take my order was very pleasant. Her young son was playing quietly at the table nearest the kitchen, and she called to him in Mandarin to stay at the table with the IPad while she was busy with the customer. She pointed out the lunch menu on the back of the neat stack of offerings used primarily for those planning to take the sheet with them. I did a double take, as the prices for the three part specials including rice and soup was $ 4.95 for almost everything. Had I travelled back in time by speeding west? I ordered the Hot & Sour Soup after asking about Weijing(MSG), and being assured it had none. First visits usually have me ordering General’s Chicken to have a point of comparison with something most places make routinely. About 10 minutes later the soup arrived. It was not in the anticipated small cup teaser vessel, but a full large bowl. Well, alright! Just looking at the surface I knew she was right about the lack of flavor enhancer. It was reflective without the heavy oily sheen caused by msg. Beyond that, it was really good. Lots of thin slivers of Celery, ample Tofu, Water Chestnuts and Mushrooms, with the right balance of spice and vinegar. I finished the bowl by picking it up to my lips and letting it flow into my mouth. Not a drop to waste. I took a long look into the kitchen to check out the chef. Did he know he was that good? The full dinner plate piled high with General Tso’s Chicken came out before I finished the final tip of the soup bowl. A substantial mound of Fried Rice held up one side of the jumble of lightly coated and fried Chicken pieces. The rice was yellow, with Peas, Pork, and Carrots showing themselves. The General would be proud. His namesake was on the high end of the continuum. The coating was not heavy, nor greasy. The sauce while a little too sweet to satisfy the local palate, as opposed to having that hint of chili heat in the best versions, was still satisfying and clearly composed of meat that had not been in the deep freeze, but fresh enough to offer the right crunch and soft inside. I ate it all. I was glad to be eating in when the meal was just out of the wok and large soup pot, and everything tastes best. When I asked for tea, I was brought a large styro cup(demerit) full to the brim with decent Chinese Tea. No extra charge for it(merit). I sat and watched Young Son as be continued with his play. People came in for take out and said kind things to the boy, to which he shyly responded under mom’s watchful eyes. My guess was that dad was the man in the white apron who had just prepared my meal. I returned to the counter to settle up, and was told by the lovely hostess that the grand total was 5 and change. I almost felt guilty accepting her calculation because it bore no relationship to the quality nor quantity of the food. A nice tip would salve my conscience. All my usual suburban Chinese hangs(with exceptions) would do well to take a seminar from the Lins and learn how they make their Garden grow. When I find myself thinking about returning if given the opportunity, I know I am a fan. Thus, 4 Big Ones… with a bullet!

Good food! Fresh, flavorful. Wished our spicy dishes were spicier. And they were a bit slow but I’d go there again! Good Hot and Sour Soup. Previous poster said Crab Wontons weren’t good — I disagree! Some of the best I’ve ever had!

The whole family loves this place! The food is always fresh and they know just how long to cook the vegetables… nice and crunchy. It’s not the fastest place around, but worth the wait. They are consistently busy, which is another sign of the high quality food. The family that runs the place is always friendly and seems to enjoy interacting with the customers. Great place and great food!

Strike 2. Tried this place again and it was just as nasty as the first time! The cheese in the rangoons was foul! General Tsao’s chicken was in a gelatinous goo.

Two thumbs up! What a gem in this rural chocolate infused town near Hershey where the smell of cow manure is an essential facet of daily aroma. We were traveling between Gettysburg and Hershey for a short family getaway. While we were traveling, we craved some kind of Asian cuisine but didn’t want any form of over cooked Chinese buffet with withering and grease infested vegetables. Looking around on Unilocal,we found the only Chinese place open on the Fourth of July(thank you for being open). We did not expect much from a semi-takeout place but we were utterly surprised. Being an Asian who also cooks alot, I am very picky when it comes to any Asian cuisine but this place took me by surprise in this middle of nowhere little town of Palmyra. Food ordered: wonton soup, hot and sour soup, shrimp with garlic sauce, Hunan chicken and house special chow mai fun with white sauce. Hot and sour soup: fresh! Most Chinese places would serve their soup cooked to death with bitter after taste but not this place. Especially the celery and tofu in the soup were very savory and tasty as if they were place in the bowl minutes before the soup was served. Not over powering with sourness but good amount of spice and very clean after taste. Garlic shrimp: fresh and nutty. Absolutely cooked to perfection. They must have very high flame with great heat conducting wok that cooks in seconds. When I bit into a shrimp it absolutely bursted in my mouth with flavors of the sea. I have never tasted any shrimp with such flavor. I am not a big fan of shrimp from any Chinese places because they are so overcooked and greased but not this place. Also the vegetables were just cooked enough to compliment the shrimp with freshness. I felt all the sea and garden in this plate. Only let down for this dish was its sweetness. I dont like my food too sweet and sugar makes the food soggy much faster; however for an average American palate I guess this plate would be fine. Hunan chicken also fresh and moist. It was so good I had to ask what they used to season the dish and the front desk told me that they just season their food with small amounts of good salt and use all vegetable oil in small amounts. I always say that good food comes from being able to put just the right amounts of the basic ingredients and I think the cook in this establishment understands much more than just whipping out fast takeout food. Chicken was moist and seasoned well with just enough spices to indulge your palate. Broccoli was crunchy yet not raw and the sauce was so nutty. My kids loved the dish!!! House special chow mai fun also fresh and moist. I never order noodle dish from a Chinese place because how dry they make it. Although I go to Philly a lot for my Chinese food only noodle dish I eat is Phở because of how dry most of the places prepare their noodle dish but not this place. I ordered the noodle dish for the kids but I ended up eating the whole thing. Moist meats, seasoned vegetables and just right textured al dente noodles with great high heat flavor fused right into each strands of the noodles. White sauce had enough savory seasoning to moisten the dish. I was also very impressed by the fact that they served the noodle last which means they cook the noodle fresh just before serving and did not want us to eat soggy overcooked noodles. If you ever think about eating their food go there and have a sit down meal there. If you do take-out you are not doing justice to their food. Last 40 years of eating some authentic and fusion Chinese food from Susanna Foo to Sang Kee in Philly and Ocean Harbor for dim sums, this place is absolute best. I have said to the front desk that they can make it anywhere in US as a fine dining establishment. It is that good. Fresh, Fresh, Fresh is the key to this place. I will definitely visit this place again. Thank you for staying open on the Fourth of July. Best Chinese experience!!!

After 20+ years of mediocre/nasty Chinese takeout in Palmyra, my family and I were thrilled to discover this place! We eat here at least 3x a month, and my dad eats here once a week with his buddies. Their lunch special is very reasonable(everything is around $ 5) and they have a «family meal» deal where you can choose three items for $ 20. Our favorite dishes include: +moo shu pork +beef with snow peas +house special mai fun(rice vermicelli) Their food never leaves me dehydrated. The family who runs this business is super friendly and efficient.
