Long Nursery

I moved to the Hershey/​Palmyra area ten months ago. I have been to Long’s maybe six times. Three times I bought plants that were normal transactions. Another time I went to buy propane gas, but was told I couldn’t because everyone was at lunch so I had to leave. Two times I went to the office and was totally ignored and eventually left. I won’t be back

I’ve been relying on Long’s primarily for mulch for almost 10 years. I’ve always picked up my own and they are incredible at loading up my small truck and their prices are reasonable. This past year, I needed such a large volume, that I opted for delivery. The delivery rate was fair and the drivers didn’t even bat an eye at getting their truck through a narrow gate to deliver in the back of the house. I could not have been more impressed with the care and accuracy in which they delivered. 100% recommended.

A real disturbing thing happened on sat morning My wife and son, granddaughter, and myself were there at 722 am before they opened and we looked at some patio blocks like we purchased in the past .We walked down to the office area and my son walked out front to see what time they opened, I sat watching them look at us from their house window but refused to come down and ask us if we needed any help? they just stared at us… So we left and came back later in the afternoon when we pulled up and got out of the car the guy rode up on a golf cart like he was going to a race sliding to a stop .He gave us the price which was way high then what we payed so I said we would shop around But Wait this is the real offending disturbing question this clown asked us were you guys here earlier? we said yes and you weren’t open nobody came out we saw you looking at us, Then he asked us you didn’t take anything did you??? REALLY We were shocked he even asked if we stole anything Now I wouldn’t buy anything there and we have bought allot there in the past for projects No more business from us Unbelievable completely uncalled if you think we took something and caught somebody on camera and have proof then call the police and file charges against them don’t accuse innocent people This is a real easy way to kill your business sorry but we will never be back to your nursery… Tip when you see a family walking around before your hours of operation walk out to them and ask if you can help them instead of being too lazy and staring from the window it might be the sale of your lifetime, Then you could explain we only open at 8am but would be happy to help you. I posted on Longs facebook and they deleted my post which is fine but they never tried to rectify or apologize.
