I’ve been here several times. It’s a nice local place that’s pleasant and comfortable. The food is delicious and reliably consistent. Why 3 stars and not 4 then? Service. More than once I’ve been dining with a friend and catching up on some great conversation, but when a large, chatty group comes in the waitress invariably seats them as close to us as possible — like sitting-in-their-laps close. Who does that?! It’s ruined the meal each time. We hadn’t been camping; we’d only just been served our food when this happened. When we made the waitress aware of how uncomfortable that was for us it didn’t seem to matter at all. That kind of attentiveness just isn’t a priority. This is a small place — no more than 10 tables, if that — so the seating is naturally close. But to purposely mash 8 of us into the far corner when we were the only two groups in the place and it was mid-morning with the breakfast rush long over? That just makes no sense.

Best, best, best! Yummy breakfasts always consistent! Service is warm and friendly. Egg sammie is a winner! We go probably once a week for a cheap and delicious breakfast treat, not over portioned either.

Welcoming to me and my little guy, with all his babbling and cooing. Spinach feta omelette pretty good. I like my eggs a little more dry, but seemed like fresh ingredients. Coffee is common, but fresh.

I met a friend here for lunch this week and I’ll definitely be back for more. I had a very tasty burger with provolone, peppers & onions with equally good fries. The burger was made fresh and cooked to order, and my iced tea glass was kept filled to the brim. My friend enjoyed a home-style turkey club on generously cut rye toast that immediately made me wish I could have two lunches. We both took part of our sandwich home and my friend picked up a burger to take home for her husband since my burger was just that good. Michel’s is only open for breakfast and lunch, and I’m looking forward to heading over there from NE Philly to check out their breakfast offerings(made my mouth water just from reading their menu.)
