I haven’t tried any of their baked goods yet, but I thoroughly enjoy their sandwiches. The bread is SO good. Located in the middle of the Stanford Shopping Mall, the café is a bit cramped but there is plenty seating outside. They work fast to get your food for you ASAP, so it’s definitely not a shop where you expect them to make small talk with you. Sometimes it makes me feel a little rushed, getting the vibe that they are a little annoyed if you’re not sure what you want to order yet. But it works if you just want to get in and out. I do feel the price a little on the steep side though– especially the $ 12 Caesar salad. I’ll pass on that.

Will definitely be back! Chocolate croissant($ 3.95) was just the right mixture between fluffy and layered. And once you toast it at home its got a great crisp to it! Also they put a TON of chocolate in there! Its like almost half the croissant. Almond flake($ 3.75) was also very tasty. Best way to describe it is, it tastes just like a Biscotti but much softer. Also got pineapple upside down cake($ 4.95). I had half there and heated the other half at home. I think I liked it better at room temperature ;p Pineapple on top was so so, but the cake part had just the right amount of sugar and flavor on it!

The place is a hole in a wall with tables and sitting outside. Not as authentic as it appeared to be from all the reviews and pics on Unilocal. The cakes were way too sweet and poor quality. The upside down pineapple cake was mediocre. It looked good but it was below average. The cheese croissant was very good. The raisin swirl was good as well. I don’t get paid to write reviews on Unilocal

La Baguette is a cute little French Bakery located in the upscale Stanford Shopping Center, this place almost always has a long line out the door and that was the main reason I never tried them because I never wanted to wait in line. But I finally gave it a try and I’m so glad I did because this place is really good! The interior of the bakery itself is rather small and it gets really crammed and crowded in their but once you get past that and see all these cases of delicious looking pastries and baguettes then you kind of forget about all the people. This bakery has a little of everything from soups and baguette sandwiches to eclairs and mousse. I guarantee if you in here just to look or focused on purchasing one item that you will end up leaving will lots of desserts and breads. I have tried a few items here and while I wasn’t a big fan of some of their desserts, I absolutely love their baguettes. I enjoy the ham and cheese Parisian as well as the cheese Parisian. The baguettes are warm, toasty and buttery with a nice layer of ham and soft and creamy mozzarella cheese nestled inside. I’m not much of a sandwich person and I’m very picky about my bread but the baguettes here are the best that I have ever had and the cheese they use tastes so fresh. They do have a few other varieties of Parisians like the Salami Parisian, Turkey Parisian, Pastrami Parisian and a few others. They have tons of varieties of breads, croissants, danishes as well as salads and pizza. They also have some good coffee options and some yummy Italian sodas. There is something here for just about everybody. The one negative besides the long lines would be that they are a bit pricey so I would not recommend coming here everyday lol. The Parisians range from $ 7.95-$ 8.75 which is a bit much but well worth it while most of the pastries and cakes range from $ 4-$ 6. These prices are probably what’s expected for the type of bakery it is and with it being in the Stanford Shopping Center. While there aren’t any tables and chairs inside the actual bakery they have a few outside and it makes for a nice little area to eat your yummy goodies and people watch and see how long the line gets. This is one of the better eateries in the mall and it should be tried at least once.

The sandwhich here is always fresh. It’s after work and I took a break from probably the last of the Jazz Summer series here at Stanford Shopping Center. The staff was courteous and my plain old ham and cheese on french bread with my Perrier was very good. Now back to the Le Jazz Hot Quartet. I think I’ll sit by the froggy fountain thing, eat my sandwhich and listen to this woman sing some fine jazz in French.
