While I absolutely love their style and have been a long time customer, I have decided to call it quits. Very outfit I’ve purchased has worn out very quickly as the quality is just not there for what you pay. Their clothing is a fortune and I would expect better quality. Most of the time, they are not true to size either:-(The customer service could use a boost as well:-/

i’m conflicted about what kind of clothes to buy for our little girl(3 ½ y/o now); on one hand, i want her clothes to look nice and i want her to like them; on the other hand, knowing the unspeakable abuse any new duds will suffer once we get them home,(e.g., when my daughter finds a magic marker, it’s a matter of seconds, before she begins writing on herself and on her clothes; then probably put it in her pocket without putting the cap back on) suggests buying the cheapest stuff i can find. And arguing for the same end – ie, buy only cheap duds for this little girl – i refuse to shop for her at Ambercrombie & Fitch, Polo, et al – always seems like those children are on display as symbols of ridiculous excess. coolest kids’ clothes store, ever. We shopped here for the first time when our daughter was 2 ½; my guidelines for the clothes we buy for our crazy little girl:(i) no burberry, polo, versace, armani, maserati, etc. – not now, not ever;(ii) comfortable;(iii) sturdy; and(iv) sensibly priced(doesn’t mean«cheap» just within reason given the relatively short period of time she will fit in them). Naartjie ticks these boxes; aside from that the clothes are just seriously cool, not«hey look at me» cool, but cool like Cameron Diaz, Kate Beckinsale, et al. probably buy clothes for their children’s at Naartjie(no idea whether they have even children). seriously good; the Philz coffee of kids clothes. finally i have no idea how to pronounce the name of this store; to my Wife, i just refer to it as the store that is probably spelled wrong(has to be).

First of all, let me tell you everything in my daughter’s closet comes from . She is a walking billboard for Naartjie. This rating is not about the brand but about the store in Palo Alto. Given how heavily I shop from the online store, I was sooooo happy to hear that one just opened at Stanford. My experience with the lady at the counter was so awful that unfortunately, I don’t think I will ever go back to the store. On the second day of grand opening I went there to check out the store. With me I had a few items that I wanted to exchange. I had 3 hats that I had bought on line and wanted to exchange them for larger sizes.(Their hats run really small by the way). I also had 3 outfits with gift receipts that I wanted to return. I would have been happy with store credit as I shop so much from this store. The lady at the counter took a look at my bag and said: «We don’t carry these items. We just opened and only carry new items.» I told her that I intended to return the items. She huffed and puffed and rolled her eyes and without even trying to hide her dissatisfaction from me said something to the effect that I’m making her life difficult. Then she looked at my gift receipt and said the 60 day return policy had passed 3 days ago. Then she said that she will take them back but the way she was treating me I just wanted to take those items and toss them in the trash and stop the lady from embarrassing me in front of other customers. As she was finishing up the transaction she picked up the outfits tossed them on the floor behind her like trash and told one of her associates: «Summer stuff!!!»(meaning; what the hell are we going to do with summer stuff now!!!) Had she not been so rude to me, embarrassing me in front of other customers and her associates, and make me feel like I have made her life so miserable, I probably would have wanted to go back and shop Naartjie in person but I find it highly unlikely that I would consider going back there ever again. Given the lady’s attitude I think highly unlikely that I’m the only victim of her behavior.

Newly opened at Stanford Shopping Center next door to Gap Kids! Lots of really cute stuff for kids ages 0 – 10, with fun, interesting, sassy designs, great colors, and much of it very reasonably priced — and an extra 25% through this weekend at their Grand Opening celebration. Only hitch is they don’t seem to have enough staff or stock on hand to handle the early rush(baby sizes already running low). But definitely worth checking out.
