This is where my mom & I go to have our annual lunch during our after Christmas shopping day. I always look forward to the popovers and strawberry butter served before the meal.

Love the popover. We had seafood linguine in red sauce and macadamia nut crusted trout which were solid.

Love the popovers with strawberry butter, I could eat a hundred of these. They also serve a small cup of chicken broth as an amuse bouche. The surroundings aren’t as posh as The Rotunda in SF but it’s a nice place for lunch indoors with nice A/C while shopping at Stanford. Service can be spotty sometimes though. They seemed like they only had 1 server for the entire place around 2:45pm on a Saturday.

Delicious food and top quality ingredients. I love going there for a quiet lunch with friends. Also very good service and friendly employees.

Not a bad place to grab a bite to eat while shopping. The place is dark but that’s okay. Waited a little bit(weekend) but was given a call when our table was ready. I had a salad and my fiancé had a sandwich. Both were huge portions and excellent. Will come back for a quick and simple bite to eat!

Didn’t know what to expect from this NM Café since it was my first time there. Originally, I made reservation for high tea + dessert experience, but the hostess probably got it confused and hence never came to fruition. We decided to stay for late lunch instead. Nonetheless, I was still VERY impressed with the food and service received when I went last Saturday with my friend and her daughter. This NM Café is newly renovated, décor is down-to-earth and not overly ostentatious or flashy. The atmosphere is soothing and relaxing; noise level is manageable. The Steak Frites entrée(Filet mignon, truffled fries, sautéed garlic spinach, vegetables, demi-glacé at $ 28.50) I ordered is cooked excellent, juicy and tender, served with vegetables and truffle fries(!!!). Who would’ve thought I could get such good quality steak at a café inside a high-end department store? The service received definitely deserves a 5-star as well. I got free refills on the ice-tea and our server did go above and beyond to accommodate our needs and made us happy diners. I would definitely come back for lunch again, but hope to get to try their High Tea specials next time, which needs at least 24 hour reservation in advance and the tea set can be customized based on one’s own preference, price ranges from $ 20-$ 50 per person, according to the manager.

I love the broth and popovers with strawberry jam, so my friend and I decided to come here in the middle of the afternoon. I haven’t been here since the remodel, and a large part of the actual department store is still under construction. The new café area looks more modern and open, and it was really full even around 3pm. I actually just wanted some drinks and was happy to see that they have a full bar in the afternoon, since some places at the mall are closed in the afternoon(like Flemings). The strawberry basil margarita was good for summer. For food, we split a Lobster Cobb. At $ 28, it wasn’t cheap, but it was nice that they split it into two separate plates for us(no extra charge), and it was a good sized portion for each of us. It had lots of lobster meat, bacon, some blue cheese, and the other standard cobb ingredients. We also got fries on the side, and those fries were really good — they were fried just right and salted the right amount. It’s a nice place to stop for an afternoon snack, but it’s not cheap. You do get the Neiman Marcus broth and popovers tradition, but service wise, it’s definitely not as formal as at the Rotunda in SF.

When I used to work downtown and got sick of the restos there, I’d wander to the mall. Who knew Neiman had a decent resto upstairs? Surrounded by housewives who are blowing their husbands paychecks, it’s good people watching and listening. «Oh the economy is so bad that you may have to sell your yacht? Oh no!» French Dip and Burger are pretty solid, though a bit pricey. One has 2.2X the calories of the other but only 50 cents difference. Servers always keep my iced tea filled so they pay attention. Again, a weird place to eat but the food is pretty good. You’re paying for the«ambiance» too

Food was decent but the service was terrible. We were excited to try out the café with a $ 50NM perk card. Waiters periodically went around the room to refill water and bread but they never came to our table. We had to ask twice for water and bread during our meal. The worst part was when I used the perk card to pay our bill. NM email showed a 3 digit ID number, instead of a 4 digit number. They made me walk to the customer service just find out that they needed to enter a ‘0’ in front of the 3 digits when they could have done it with a phone call. No apology for the trouble that was a mistake on their part. Food was not worth the wait or the trouble.

My girls and I really enjoy dining at Neiman Marcus Café. They serve the best pop overs and the strawberry butter is so delicious. They come out warm and the butter just melts. They will even serve more if asked! They start you off with a chicken consommé, which is a nice touch in the beginning of your meal. I ordered the crab cakes and butternut squash soup. Both were very tasty. It was nice to see that the crab cakes were full of crab meat and not bread crumbs. Very tasty aioli too with a small mixed green salad and light vinaigrette dressing. My girls had the cheesburger and roast beef au jus. Both were very flavorful. Our waiter was wonderful too! He would make sure our water was filled and asked us throughout our meal if we needed anything else. Very attentive. We will definitely dine at NM café again… very convenient, very nice, and good food.

love it here! the food is a 4 star but the service and ambiance is a 5 star. I do like the SF location better but its easier to park in PA. Food is very delicious here, too. And I like how quite and easy it is to have a meal here. :)

Worse lunch I had. Not what you would expect from Neiman Marcus. Service was rough. We asked her if the soup was canned, she surprisingly said no. We barely had 2 bites of the soup, left it there, and the waitress did not even care to address it. Overall experience, they are not attentive the the food is below mediocre that leaves a bad after taste. Neiman Marcus stanford – take advise from SF Rotunda. Service and food is wayyyyy better there!

I think this place had very good service. I was reading one of the reviews from someone who said the service here wasn’t good and I’m surprised because when I went yesterday the staff was quick to accommodate, consistently asked how I liked the food and if everything was good. I think the place is under renovation so I can’t give it a higher rating then this for the look and feel of the place. My waitress recommended the salmon burger with sweet potato fries and I think the quality of the food is good. The salmon was tender and cooked just right with a hint of salt and some seasoning, this made it savory with some cream dressing on it to add to the moistness of the burger. The bun of the burger was warm with a slight crisp yet soft bite which made it perfect to eat. Before my lunch entrée came out I got some house pastry with yogurt spread. The place was clean but on the smaller side and is still under renovation. I will have to check back once it’s finished renovating.

Overall, meh. I came here for lunch with my mom and sister. I ordered the avocado ahi tuna wrap, which came with salad and fruit on the side. The wrap itself was huge and definitely filling, but I thought the flavor was a bit lacking. For $ 18, I definitely expected more. My mom ordered the burger, which was pretty tasty. That being said, it was still a $ 16 burger, so still on the pricey side. Funny thing is that the highlight of the meal was actually the free croissant like bread that they serve with strawberry butter. It was delicious, especially when served warm. We asked for seconds and our server was nice enough to bring us more. Overall I wouldn’t come back. The food is decent but the prices are definitely not worth it.

NM is sub par to the Rotunda in SF in most aspects. I only eat here when my mom has those $ 50 cards that is only allowed for a limited number of things, including eating. The Café is on the top floor next to the home goods and what used to be the children’s section, which is now being renovated. The space is relatively small to begin with and the construction makes the space seem even smaller. Like at the Rotunda, they start you off with their popover with strawberry butter. However, popover here is dry and not very enticing, not even the strawberry butter could save it. The servers are always very helpful and give recommendations. At my most recent visit, my server gave me a taste of the lobster bisque, which I’ve already tried, but it was nice of him to do that. Servers are very attentive, but the kitchen is beyond slow and consistently so. Food is not very noteworthy, so I’m not even going to mention any particulars. It’s expensive and definitely not worth your buck. If it was not for the $ 50 card, I would not eat here, really not worth it.

Okay, who knew NM had a café on the second floor in this location? Not me!!! Just like the NM brand, the café offers a wide range of options for a late lunch or something to snack on. After you’re seated, they give you a complimentary cup of chicken broth, which blew me away! I didn’t even feel bad for asking for seconds, it was definitely on point. The mussels are cooked with a kick of spice, or if you order a sandwich which I recommend, they are extremely generous with the fries. I definitely recommend coming here and spoiling yourself before or after a day of shopping!

Love this place! Great, quiet atmosphere, delicious food and drinks and I LOVE the popovers they give you before a meal. This is seriously a little hidden gem at the mall and I love eating here!

Neiman Marcus’ Café is the only reason why I visit Neiman Marcus. I absolutely love their delicious food! The free appetizer that they provide to you which is the popover with strawberry butter is my favorite item from there! I look forward to eating that the most whenever I am at Neiman Marcus. All their food is delicious and is suprisingly priced reasonably. The waiters here are very friendly and the service is good here. I am never disappointed whenever I eat at Neiman Marcus’ Café, and I am sure that you will not be if you try it out also.

EXTREMELYSLOWSERVICE!!! Everything was slow, from being seated, receiving menus, getting our orders taken, receiving water/starters, and our freakin’ food. It really is a sad example of a Neiman Marcus restaurant. You can definitely tell how old and outdated this«restaurant’ is. The cushions on the seats are old, dirty, and saggy. It has a malodorous smell which is probably from old carpet and dirty walls. Worst of all, the food was in dinky little portions and horrible tasting. I should’ve sent it back to the kitchen but really didn’t want to deal with it after sitting there for about an hour. The restaurant was maybe 10% full if even. Doesn’t make sense to me. Never returning.

We were going to eat at one of the restaurants in the shopping center but we decided to live it up at Neiman’s! :) The popovers are huge and beautiful creations. They were served with strawberry butter which is like strawberry cream cheese but waaay better. I loved the amuse bouche of a teeny, warm cup of chicken broth. It reminds me of my grammie’s broth. Simple, flavorful, and not too salty. The chimichurri steak salad without cheese was delicious! The meat is lean and tender. The vinaigrette was light and kept the salad bright and fresh. The burger was delicious but three bites in and I realized what was making it taste like magic. The fat in the ground beef! Haha.
