Get ready to spend a ton of cash here(but it’s worth it!) My absolute favorite truck is 3 Brother Kitchen. Get their pork belly burrito! I usually dislike anything that’s «fusion» and the burrito part threw me off. BUT, I was persuaded by the pork belly. The Lobstar truck is okay, but the lobster roll is too expensive in my opinion because of the portion size. I think I ate the whole thing in a few bites. Me so hungry has yummy sliders, but sometimes the meat is a little dry.

Went along to Off the Grid for the past 2 Monday evenings. The variety and quality were distinctively different between the 2 experiences. Best to check the calendar prior to see what the offerings are. The best options were, in order: 1) Lobstar truck — excellent lobster bisque and lobster roll 2) Rocco’s ice cream tacos — try the salted caramel dipped in dark chocolate and topped with almonds and pistachios = Delight in every bite! 3) Hongry Kong — authentic Cantonese curries, chicken and beef brisket both good 4) Me so hungry — sliders average but try the chocolate coated bacon

It’s like a gang turf war with these food truck organizers. moveable Feast gave way to OTG but it literally looks the same. Crowne Plaza provides booze in supplement to the multiple, food trucks. It was a warm but nice night and good to see a decent crowd. Hope to see a good rotation of vendors come theough

Horray for OTG in Palo Alto! This is a smallish one in a hotel parking lot off of El Camino. Easy to get to and fun for everyone! The last time I was there the hotel was serving reasonably priced wine, beer, and ciders. Like many OTG locations, there are folding seats, but those can fill up quickly. I usually bring my own picnic blanket.

This is becoming my favorite event, the Art & Wines festivals are OK but its the same thing weekend after weekend(the food is always the same, and the music is random and too loud for families) whereas the Off The Grid event is exactly what we want, a lovely place to sit in the shade, enjoy food from a wide selection of trucks while listening to a single musician playing lovely soothing musing. This location always has a gentle breeze, tall trees that provide excellent shade and the hotel has squeaky clean bathrooms indoors. I just realized this s week that there are additional chairs on the lawn areas where families have taken to picnic with the truck food, its well shaded and the kids love to go inside the golf net to play fort. Since no one else has posted pics of the lawn areas(I’ll post some today. Not only is the location perfect for this area, its so easy to get in and out of, they have excellent parking, chairs everywhere and best of all is the staff. Off The Grid supplies staff who will put out chairs, rearrange chairs for you(each group tends to put the charts in a circle while eating) as well as being on standby to clean any chair that had any food dribble onto it. This is the friendliest and most courteous staff I have ever met, they make a huge difference and they make it such a friendly comfortable environment that I just want to keep coming back over and over again. I highly recommend Off the Grid to all families.

This place is really expensive and you won’t find many entrees for lower than $ 10, but you’re paying for the area and the chill environment. There were about 7 different food trucks ranging from mexican to italian to asian«soul food». I grabbed a burrito from the mexican place and while it was long, was not very filling. The ambiance was great though! They string up lights between the trucks and there are a ton of chairs so my coworkers and I were able to sit down!
