This restaurant is so good! Every dish I order here so tasty and their margaritas are great too! A few must orders: ceviche, guacamole and the enchiladas.

Went here for lunch with some colleagues from work for a «last day before holiday break» gossip fest. They easily accommodated our large party even when we spilled over into two tables, keeping us full of chips, salsa, and water. My one taco combination meal was very tasty – the beef was tender, the salsa not too hot, and the rice and beans both warm and well-seasoned. The only slightly odd thing is that their restaurant is very dimly lit; you get used to it as you sit there but coming in from outside is always an abrupt transition.

I love the three salsas they bring with chips! Best salsa around. I usually get enchiladas, which are always delicious. This is my favorite Mexican place in Palo Alto!

Food is really not worth your time. Nothing special and expensive. The restaurant itself is very badly lit.

We’ve been eating here for years. A recent visit was representative of the experiences we’ve had in the past. The food was delicious, and the margaritas were great(and strong)! Also, the service was friendly and efficient. This is one of our favorites in Palo Alto.

The chicken taco with hard shell and refried black beans and Mexican rice was so good. And the flan was fantastic!

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the Bay Area. Since I moved to SF, My boy friend and I even drive all the way down here sometimes just to have their amazing Nachos and Enchiladas for Old times sake!

Food is really good, accommodating to make a meatless meal… Margaritas were really good(and strong), salsa is really good, the really red one is HOT be careful no warning is given! Portions are big and the chips are really good(unsalted which is what we like)!

Be extremely careful when you sign the check here. They have used my card and swiped that for a different bill(which is more than the double the amount). When I pointed this out they took my card and swiped it again for the correct amount mentioning that they already cancelled the previous one. During this whole encounter nobody apologized to me and just took it as normal. Then, after a week, I checked my credit card and I see both the transactions appearing there. Apparently they have not cancelled it. I had to call the credit card company and dispute this. So, once again, be extremely cautious when you sign the check there.

This is my mom’s favorite restaurant. So anytime we have a special celebration this is the place to go. Very delicious authentic Mexican food! I never order the same dish, and so far everything I’ve tried from this place is yummy. Is casual but on the higher end. So… If your looking for great Mexican foo and. Refreshing margarita, this is the pace to go.

Decent place for some mexican food. Their trio of salsas was quite interesting as they had a super spicy one and their salsa Verde was warm. Had their chips with guacamole. Pretty good and it wasn’t overly salty. I ordered their Burrito Del Pollo with both red and green sauce. It was delicious although I preferred the green sauce over the red sauce. Recommended! Will probably come back.

This place is a must go! And may I suggest a pitcher of Patron Margaritas! Yummy Mexican food, mainly traditional with a lighter California spin! Their fish tacos are amazing(that sauce… mmm!) and I love their combo plates. Great service and really lively environment on a good night :)!! There can sometimes be a wait, but so worth it! I’ve been going here since I was 17, it’s definitely a good go to!

Definitely not your run of the mill Mexican food. Palo Alto Sol has a wonderful menu, and a great atmosphere. The food is very good, I have had the shrimp and crab enchiladas several times and they have always been exceptionally good. The only better shrimp enchiladas I’ve had was in Cabo San Lucas, but these are a very close second. Chips and three different kinds of salsa, and a good tequila selection. They have a variety of sauces and preparations for their dishes, and they do a very good job overall with the food and food quality. The service has been iffy a couple of times, and the prices are definitely up there, even for gourmet Mexican food. I do not believe there is a lunch menu and I would plan on spending $ 50 at least for two entrees and margaritas. Definitely not bad, and if the prices were lower it would be a four-star no problem.

To be honest, I really liked this place. This is coming from someone who loves mexican food and refuses to eat at many mexican places after living in Santa Barbara amongst the privilege that is Freebirds, for four years. Anyways, most fancy mexican restaurants are usually disappointing. So maybe this place was just decent and exceeded my usual expectation of sub-par food. Either way, I enjoyed it. Service was good, chips were good(my usual bench-mark for mexcian joints), and my enchiladas con camarones(shrimp), were really good. I’ll be back, hopefully with someone else because its not necessarily cheap! Check it out if you’re in the area.

Palo Alto Sol boasts exquisite cuisine, and impeccable service. A must try if you happen to be in area. I adore Palo Alto Sol’s sister restaurant Quinto Sol in Redwood City, and while the ambiance is quite as stunning at the Palo Alto location it is still quite lovely. Perfect place for an intimate evening out; where you can have a delicious meal, and a conversation(and actually be able to hear one another). I shall definitely return to Palo Alto Sol.

Nachos are amazing here. It’s on the apps menu but it’s huge and can be a shared entrée. Enchiladas are a close second. Tostada and fish tacos are a distant third option for what we order here.

Pleasant comfortable atmosphere appropriate for a date or family dining. I had the Rajas Poblanas, a unique and delicious dish of pulled chicken in a piquant cream sauce with poblano and onion. So great to find a Mexican restaurant that isn’t stuck with conventional CalMex fare. Service was prompt and perfunctory.

Pros: — really unique food(many of the meat dishes come in a creamy sauce, almost like Indian curry) — rajas poblanas(so creamy and the chicken so tender) — pollo negro was also tender and flavorful — chips and salsas were really fresh tasting — attentive service — large dining room Cons: — beans were meh — food overall was unimpressionable Bottom line: Don’t expect traditional Mexican food! The menu and food are pretty unique. I don’t think I would return, but I enjoyed my experience here.
