This is my favorite spot on Cal Ave to go grab a quick lunch. The service is always fantastic and the food is consistently good. I come here about once a week and always tell my friends in the office to try it when they ask where they should go eat. I look forward to coming here more and more. They have a large menu with many great options for all!

I first tried their ice cream with a group of friends and recently tried their breakfast scramble. This dish includes scrambled eggs with choice of 5 ingredients, side of greens, side of fruit and has become my favorite breakfast! I have been going there almost every morning to order my usual. Service and portions are good and I end up eating half of my usual order for breakfast and other half for afternoon snack, sometimes lunch. This place is a good change from other cafes in the area.

My favorite café on California Ave. They have great food and drinks, and a wonderful place to sit and relax or do some work. When it’s warm their outdoor patio is for enjoying some sun while having a coffee. Highly recommended!

Cashier has some anger issues. A simple sign or statement saying«We do not allow outside food in this establishment» would have been more effective than the rude and incoherent monologue we received. We left not knowing what we did wrong or why he was so angry! Manager got in touch with me and explained and apologized for his behavior, which I did appreciate. If only the face of the establishment were as tactful.

Local business, great concept and great light food, teas and coffee. They do a great job, provide quality ingredients and a basic menu that gets the job done. Great for your morning coffee or a light lunch. Nice outdoor seating space. And really anyone who has access to Marianne’s ice cream is one of my favorite establishments :)! And because I live close enough to walk here, I must mention it is so conveniently located on California Avenue — still the less overwhelmingly crowded part of Palo Alto!

Went there for the first time this morning. Disorganized, slow service, and a big waste of time because«seven people were ahead of us for breakfast». There were only 7 other people in the place.

My favorite stop in Palo Alto. My Friday morning companion always orders a Decaf Frosted Mocha. I haven’t splurged on one for a long time. Feeling decadent I tried the fluffy creamy frosty mocha and it was amazing!!! There is nothing like it at any other coffee shop. If you really want to go nuts, try it with a warm chocolate croissant. We shared one and it was truly memorable. We look forward to visiting every Friday morning. Al is an amazing man and everyone is incredibly friendly. Anything we could possibly want, he’ll make it. We usually get sandwiches to bring home and they are always beautifully prepared. Everything is so fresh and delicious. I know there are plenty of places to get coffee in Palo Alto but you will never find nicer people or more delicious food and hand crafted coffee drinks. It’s cozy, clean and bright. Also, if you’re feeling overwhelmed by how busy Palo Alto is, this is a place you will feel calm and well taken care of. Highly recommend to all. Perfect shady patio for kids, dogs and iPads.

Conveniently located on Cal Ave with good outdoor seating. I haven’t tried the food yet but the coffee is overpriced and downright terrible.

There’s an extremely rude counter guy. I felt uncomfortable and even switched the meeting place before ordering… No worth dropping money while so many other friendly places here and there.

Great coffee and great ambiance! I especially like coming here on Sunday mornings when locals gather around the tables here to talk about current events. It’s hard to find a coffeeshop in town where everyone isn’t on their laptops and wearing headphones, but this place is a bright spot for the community. Make sure to check out the art gallery as well as the book exchange.

Don’t go here for the coffee. Other items might be better. Wish Zombie Runner opened earlier.

This was my favorite lunch spot when I worked on California Ave. The staff is super friendly and fairly quick. Their California chicken sandwich on Dutch crunch is superb. The French onion soup is amazingly flavorful. The Printers salad is huge and tasty. Lots of options — breakfast too! Highly recommend.

1.5 stars. Came here for a quick breakfast with my boyfriend. He ordered a breakfast burrito, and it came out a little puny thing. He took one bite and was like, «this sucks.» Kicker — it cost 8 bucks. His cup of coffee was also terrible. I ordered a fruit bowl and whole grain toast. $ 6.75 for a plate of cantaloupe, honeydew, six grapes and one strawberry cut up and sprinkled on top. The most disappointing, lackluster fruit bowl I’ve ever seen — and for almost $ 7? I expect that type of fruit bowl to come as a free side at any other restaurant. Well, I figured, the toast can’t be messed up, right? The half-cold toast came out with a chunk of cold, solid butter. I’m only giving a half star because the woman at the counter who took my order was very friendly. I almost never give poor reviews, but this was a grand waste of money. Perhaps I ordered the wrong things.

We’ve been here for their sandwiches several times. Sandwiches are pretty good size, they’re tasty and you have a choice of green salad or pesto pasta. There are several other verity items on the menu. Haven’t tried them but they’re look delish! We’ll be back!

The server/counter guy was extremely rude. We did not feel welcome at all, and he didn’t seem to be happy when I asked him ingredients to a sandwich. I have serious food allergies and I didn’t like how he didn’t even care to assist me, and I was not high maintenance.

Cute little breakfasty place in downtown Palo Alto. Mellow vibe. Homey. Neighborhoody. The server was friendly, the prices reasonable, and my egg-bagel sandwich hit the spot. The worst thing I can say about it is that the route to the bathroom requires a GPS and a trail of breadcrumbs.

Time: 12:07pm/67° sunny Purpose: With coworker in tow we were late for most meetings and this stop was just one of 15 stops for the day. Ambiance: Spacious lots of laptop/tablet toting customers. You can sit outside right under awning or inside doors and windows are wide open on warmer days. Inside can be a little tacky of a run place but seems like people can bare it. Standard normal set up for a café display case, ice cream freezer. Café is also connected to a art gallery and best of all after your meal just walk inside. Staff: Older gentleman could be owner not acknowledging people when they walk up. When there’s a good looking lady or girl he dash over ‘how can I help you’? He seems to pay special care to cougars as they walk in he’s drooling. Cleanliness: Grade C+, can be better if more elbow grease were to apply. Eats/Drinks: Pecan bar $ 3.35 and drip coffee 16oz $ 2. Coffee was an unknown brand so I can’t tell you that part but it wasn’t good. Tasted off watery not much hint of strong coffee, oh well. Pecan bar was on display too long as the caramel chalking in white coating, good indication of at least a week or more. Pecan itself was soft and chewy, never happen before to me. Products/Services: Coffee, hot/cold drinks, soup/salad, sandwiches, panini, desserts, morning/lunch, combo plates, daily specials. Torani syrups, The Republic of Tea, and Marinanne’s ice cream(local), Rasilia 3 port espresso machine. Beer/wine(bottles). Punch Lines: Full café menu, gadget toting customers, unfriendly worker, choose who to help base on looks, trying to use local as much as possible, art gallery inside, patio with awning, desserts looks tired. Tradeoffs: Place is pack because it’s the last café on street end offering free wi-fi. I wonder if I was gay would he dash and help me? Final Tgoughts: Meh, not much too say here nothing inspired me to even ask for account. I decided not to introduce myself base on my experience with clients of the past. Not all clients are bad but treat people with respect and dignity.

Terrible service and very slow wifi. The waiter was incredibly rude and inconsiderate.(For wifi service its a 1 star; especially being in silicon valley) When my mocha was ready, he impatiently yelled at me and gave inappropriate body language. Normally I would let this pass in a review, but I paid special attention to him and found these types of behaviors habitual. I saw him being rude to an older gentleman as well.(For this I give it a 1 star) The food is OK; moderate for Palo Alto pricing, but nothing really special about the food. The Mocha was definitely better than starbucks, which is why I gave the store a 2 stars instead of 1 star.(For food only; maybe to go a 2.6÷5 stars C+) Overall I give this café a 2⁄5 stars; with leniency.

Solid choice for a sandwich on California Ave. Pros: — Reasonably priced sandwich at ~$ 7 – 8. — I had the California Chicken Sandwich, and it was made with real rotisserie-like chicken! I appreciate that it wasn’t overly processed. — I didn’t order any but appreciated their selection of delicious-looking ice cream. Cons: — Sandwich was very plain without much flavor or pizzazz. Salad was similar.
