It was one of our favorite place, fish tacos amazing, let’s start they recycle chips and believe it or not the most expensive beer around here, with not lemon wage, they will charge for it, .25 c unfortunately the stuff was making fun of my friend and me for his pink shirt and his particular look they refer at him as a «joto, puñal» very unpleasant, another time the police got involved this time two girls, holding hands they where asked to leave the establishment, they should have a sign«no gays around» we are very disappointed

I don’t like throwing out a one star when o don’t even get to try the food but yes, here it is! One star is all you get when you fail to open during your posted hours. I figured maybe something came up and likely being a sole proprietor establishment those things happen. As I looked back later in the day I see it’s a n ongoing issue for this establishment. 1÷31÷2016 at 12:15 we arrived to a closed establishment. The posted hours clearly indicated they were to be open from 10:00 — 8:00 on Sunday. This place was of marginal interest mainly because I was in the area and it popped as being a solid option per Unilocal.Marginal interest has now turned to no interest. Next time I need a Mexican fix in the area I will be sure to find another establishment. It’s just not right to treat your customers this way.

I’d tried the fish tacos at this place about 2-years ago and they were phenomenal… I circled back earlier this week and ordered the fish taco combo and was very disappointed… Firstly, I’d ordered the combo, which comes with 2 fish tacos, rice, and beans… which came out to about 15 $(at lunch time mind you!)… and for that price they got my order wrong and somehow decided to give me a double order of beans… since I’d called the order in and picked it up, I didn’t realize it until I was back at work… so I just ate the meal without complaint… Although the tacos were very hearty with lots of meat… there wasn’t much flavor… I ended up having to douse my tacos in sauce to make them slightly interesting… For the price and the value, I probably wont be returning.

Super cheap delicious fish tacos. Sanchos is my regular lunch place. I go here with my work team, for lunch and generally order fish tacos(grilled or fried). The fish is fresh and tacos taste delicious. They also give complementary nachos, with every order. It’s only one complementary nachos or order, so, make sure you all make individual orders, if all of you want nachos. The only problem is that they do not allow pets. So, we end up sitting outside.

It’s decent. Middle of the road. Not so bad that I’d refuse to go there, but definitely not one of the better mexican places I’ve been to. Carne Asada was frequently burnt and not very flavorful. Inconsistency is the real problem. I’ve had it before when it was really fresh and great, but more often the meat tastes a bit old and lacking flavor.

Was out in downtown Palo Alto and decided to finally try this place out since we parked right across the street. Seen the reviews for a minute now about how good the Fish tacos are and been meaning to try them. When we walked in we noticed CASHONLY by the register so keep that in mind folks. We ordered pretty simple Super Burrito Steak, 2 fish tacos and 1 shrimp taco. Sat down at 1 of the tables outside and 2 minutes our order was delivered. Fast service and we were in a rush which was perfect. Fish tacos was SMACKIN and so was the shrimp but the Fish Taco… Best I ever had.

I love their fish taco. It was fresh and tasty. Two tacos will fill your hunger. Wife had the shrimp taco and she loved it. Come early because there is always a line.

Really you cannot ask for more from a friendly, affordable Mexican spot. It upholds Cali’s Mexican food reputation admirably. Has a seafood slant with several shrimp dishes and fish tacos. I wanted to get a baseline so I had a chicken burrito and a fish taco. A fine meal. My wife had a veggie burrito she enjoyed. It was full of bright, colorful veggies. I understand this place is packed at lunch. Go get some lunch!

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Palo Alto(I’m not even going to christen it a Taqueria like they do in San Joseezy because this is a classy establishment simply because it’s located in snobby Palo Alto). The restaurant is located in downtown Palo Alto away from Yuppy University Ave. I’d say the food is pretty solid Mexican fare EXCEPT the only negative is that it’s CASHONLY and lately I noticed they’ve raised prices. Jeeze, you think they would have raised prices a long time ago considering their location. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! My go-to’s are the regular carne asada burrito with refried beans and no rice. So just beans and meat. I think the rice makes the burrito a lot drier and less juicy and therefore less flavorful. But hey, that’s my preference and what do I know? I’m just an Asian girl who digs Mexican food. I used to love the fish tacos until they raised the prices exponentially. It used to be under ~$ 4 a pop and now it’s roughly ~$ 5. Don’t get me wrong though, they’re dang delicious! The cubes of white fish are lightly battered and perfectly fried – it’s like you’re chomping on pillows of fluffy oceanic flesh. They dress it with cabbage slaw, salsa, and a chipotle-ish sauce. Tasty! I could probably scarf 3 of them if I wasn’t so poor from living in PA. So there you have it. Come with cash and you’ll leave with a happy stomach. Cheers yo!

Favorite local spot for Mexican. Their super burritos are great and I’m a big fan of their fish tacos and Sancho’s tacos. Pretty large selection for a relatively small place. They just expanded into the store next door so there is more seating. Cash only

I’ve had an office across the street for over a year and a half and have never been to Sancho’s until just recently. The place is LEGIT. First time I went I got fish tacos and nachos. The fish tacos were amazing and so fresh! The nachos were good too. They weren’t smothered in all the ingredients that you’d normally expect from a taqueria. The self-serve salsa is amazing and flavorful. The staff was super friendly. One major thing to note is it’s cash or check only. Highly recommend Sancho’s! :)

I came here for enchiladas. I was served enchiladas. They were pretty tasty, the bare minimum experience worth 5 stars. Or maybe it’s the best 4 star experience I’ve ever had. Damn, I love me some enchiladas.

One of the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. WOW. Was over at Stanford one evening and wanted something quick for dinner. Luckily the line was short, but finding seating was a little tough. Not much seating inside or out, but after about 15 minutes(just around the time our food was ready) a party left, so we had a nice spot outside. We ordered two fish tacos and chroizo nachos to share. The tacos were like I said, the best! The nachos were fine, nothing special. I would have just preferred the tacos. Sancho’s is probably best for take out. It is in a very busy location with high traffic and parking can be a mess. Other than that, no other issues. I would eat here again. FISHTACOS!

Came here for lunch and I must say, I’ve had a lot better. This place was recommended to me by a colleague and I was disappointed. The service was mediocre and the place is super tiny(but as I expected). I was charged $.75 for pico de gallo, which were mostly onions and had zero taste to it. And I guess Sancho’s is known for the fish taco but it was below average for me. I found it tasteless and dry. The only upside was that it was sized generously and there were many pieces of fish. Although bland, the large cubed pieces of fish itself were fried fresh. I also got thee worst carne asada taco. It is nothing like I’ve ever had before and not in a good way. Plenty beef, sure, but it had ZERO taste. I can’t say much more to be honest. I really wanted to enjoy this place because it’s conveniently located next to my work. I’ll have to give it another chance as my signature move… But it will either be a burrito or a combo plate or something else… P. S.CASHONLY. Had to walk 2 blocks the opposite way just to get cash for this crap.

Vegetarians Beware: After a tip from a fellow Unilocaler I called and confirmed that Sancho’s does use chicken broth in its rice. When you order a veggie burrito you are not getting a true vegetarian meal. Mexican food as a vegetarian is usually difficult but I thought I was in the clear since they do not use meat-based beans I gave them one extra star because I read the Unilocal review after I had already ordered a veggie burrito, called in, and asked them to replace it with a true-vegetarian burrito. The manager I spoke to on the phone was very accommodating both on phone/in person. However, they need to do a better job advertising that true vegetarians should order meals with no-rice, or offer an actual vegetarian version. Although it’s understandable that not everyone cares about a vegetarian lifestyle, it’s important to respect those customers who do. I’d rather a restaurant offer only meat-based meals, which I can avoid, than to be deceived into thinking I’m getting a veggie burrito when I’m not.

FISHTACOFISHTACOFISHTACO. Ever paid $ 4 for a taco? Maybe. Ever had it be worth it? Probably not, unless you’ve been to Sancho’s Taqueria. Seriously, even though a super burrito(which I’ve heard is divine) is only about $ 7, these tacos are worth it. I got one chroizo taco and one fish taco — and it’s all about the fish! Probably the best taco I’ve ever had, let alone fish taco. The chorizo taco wasn’t bad, and I could definitely taste the difference in chorizo from the fish, but really nothing compared to fried fish; the combination of flavour in the fish taco was unparalleled. The salsa bar at the side is pretty great too — every order comes with free chips and you can help yourself to mild, medium, spicy, and XXX super spicy sauce(not kidding, it’s not only that hot but labelled similarly). The cherry on top are the hand-written signs on the soda machines and salsa bar warning you not to fill your water cup with salsa/pop or else you will be charged $ 2.10(yes, the extra dime is that important). Guess they have a lot of ratchet folks coming here? But with prices that low and flavour that high, they can write whatever the heck they want as long as they keep delivering on their fish tacos. (Hopefully I’ve said fish taco enough in this review and convinced you to order it.)

Love their fish tacos. Lightly battered, just the way I like. And I don’t usually order fish tacos. I usually Order their super nachos with carne asada, can’t go wrong with that! Only thing is that they don’t have the sliced pickled jalapeños! :( Regardless of the jalapeños, I still come back for their nachos and tacos. Introduce my friends to this place and they said its one of the best!

Cash Only! Bring Cash! —- This is super important since I NEVER carry cash. On to the less important part of the food. I had the shrimp tacos and it was amazing. Hot, fresh tacos. Highly recommended.

Love the fish tacos. I love how the pieces are cubed instead of one big fillet. It gives it more crunch and easier to eat. The only thing is, I wish they weren’t so stingy with sauces. I wanted extra sauce for the fish taco and they wanted .75 cents for a tiny cup. really.

Surprisingly, not much of a wait at noon on a Wednesday. The line went to the door but it was maybe 5 minutes til we ordered, and another 5 for our food to come out. THECOST: About $ 7.80 for my 2 tacos. * Fish Taco — 4 stars Solid. It’s a huge piece of breaded cod, fresh, and the flour tortilla is great. Just the tomatoes and lettuce they add aren’t super fresh or creative, though the sauce is good. * Crunchy Chorizo Taco — 3 stars I didn’t pick the best combo here; it reminded me a bit of my junior high cafeteria taco lunches. The chorizo could definitely have been more crisped; it was a bit much like a pile of indistinguishable crumbled meat. My tacos:
