I have purchased 6 pillows and 2 down comforters from Scandia over the years and so am well acquainted with their products. I was once even a fan. I’d always looked at Scandia as an investment. Their products are certainly priced and positioned that way. You can send your comforters and pillows in for servicing and refilling if you are not satisfied or need a refresh. THISISWHATTHEYDON’T TELLYOU: You will spend $ 300 to $ 400 on a single pillow. When you decide to top up the filling or recondition it, you will spend PERPILLOW: $ 40 for an «opening fee», just for their service department to open the pillow(before starting any work). $ 60 for a «cleaning fee». Yes, you may dry clean your pillows but they will insist that their unionized workers have to clean the pillows for hygiene. $ 20 for each ounce of fill. They recommend 5 ounces. Add tax and shipping. So just to get your pillows topped up with a few ounces of feathers, you will spend about $ 250PERPILLOW. If you purchased siberian down feathers, it’s more expensive. If you need to fill a comforter, good luck. Oh, and the process will take a month. I’m a believer in paying for premium products. But if you take a Rimowa suitcase, a Chanel bag, or a Moncler coat back for a fix, odds are that they will do it for free or for a nominal price. Scandia’s service pricing is unconscionable. Price gouging a customer who has paid thousands of dollars for a premium product is an insulting way to build a lifelong relationship, but fortunately Unilocal is around to provide reviews, ratings, and transparency for customers. Before you invest in a set of Scandia down products, consider the true cost of ownership here, because that much touted service is not something that comes with the brand: on the contrary the service prices are not posted anywhere on the site, their service is subcontracted to a 3rd party, and you will be treated and priced like a human ATM machine rather than a valued customer to the brand. I will still pay my service fees since I own so many of their products, but I’ve certainly stopped recommending the brand to anyone and believe that the company is outright dishonest and evasive about service. Finally, you may want to note that there is no corporate office or address for Scandia listed on their website because it is in fact owned and operated by The Hanover Group(Google it), a renowned junk mail marketing operator out of New Jersey and a company that has made a name for itself by creating angry and disappointed customers.

Wow! I am shocked by the review I just read by Eric, Walnut Creek. Granted, the store and products are very pricey, but I have purchased in the past and had nothing but incredible service from Diane. The linens are«high end» with the patterns woven into the fabric which takes time and, therefore, increases cost. I have pets sleeping on my bed so wash the duvet and linens a lot. They are almost 3 years old and still look great. I am currently waiting on a new down comforter, pillows, duvet and linens. Again, if you are looking for a bargain, this is not the store for you, but if you are willing to pay the price for great quality and even better customer service, this IS the store for you. OBTW, I also use their towels… sumptuous!!!

UNBELIEVABLY rude and socially inept employee ruined MY experience… maybe she was the owner… some faux-aristocratic old biddy who refused to help me and is intolerant of her customers. Overpriced products, snobbish environment, and one of the worst employees I’ve ever met. DONOTGOHERE! Even Bed Bath and Beyond is better than this godforsaken place. This place may have changed their name to Natural Comforts Down and Linens… probably because they’re trying to make people forget who they are.

My dad bought me a pillow from here as a Christmas present about 3 or 4 years ago. I’m so hooked on sleeping on it that if I sleep on anything else, I get a neckache(makes it tough in hotels). Basically this store sells down pillows, comforters/blankets, and soft towels. It’s expensive(hence the 3 stars) but they are so comfortable(5 stars for comfort!)! You really pay the price for comfort… They do have a bed in the store and they let me lie down on different pillows to try out which class of pillow was best for me(they have different classes of «firmness»). Not sure if they let you do that now. They keep a database in their computer and still had my name in there to tell me which pillow I had originally purchased after 3 years. I guess they do this in case your pillow needs servicing. They do things like cleaning & «refluffing» for a price. If you’re curious, their pillows start around $ 200, up to $ 400+, depending on the amount of down inside and the size of the pillows. No drinks allowed in the store(there’s a table in front to leave your drink) and no cell phone use. There’s generally only 1 employee at a time and when she is busy with another customer, she tries not to ignore you and still see if you’re doing okay. It’s the best pillow I’ve ever had(and the most expensive) which my husband keeps on trying to steal from me… I may need to get him one of his own soon.
