This is a great place for meeting up friends to watch a game. They offer a beer tower which I thought was pretty cool, great if you have a large party or just love beer! The food was mediocre fried bar food and pizza, cant go wrong but I would definitely skip on the nachos… they were lacking in every way possible and not tasty at all. Everything else was pretty decent! It’s open seating so come early!

Good to come drink and share good times. But I was hoping for a place to have good wings and watch the game… The service is fantastic, but the wings, no. I tried the garlic tots, also a no. More of a bar for drinking at– less to eat at. Otherwise, a good time for people looking to share a laugh or 2, and watch the Warriors/Sharks/Or any other team for that matter.

Old Pro is typically my venue of choice for my sports-watching needs but yesterday the experience was lacking. We had to ask three times for water and there was a hair in our nachos. It might be time for us to move on to somewhere new.

I met my daughter and son-in-law at The Old Pro for dinner. Nothing special or fancy, just a get together at a local sports bar. When the waitress brought the check there was a line item under the amount for«Included Gratuity» which was an automatic 15%, followed by another line item for«Additional Tip». Needless to say we were shocked! Having worked in the restaurant business throughout my college years and having attended/hosted many parties at restaurants of all sorts, I’m very familiar with and accepting of restaurants automatically charging gratuity for parties of 6 or more(usually at 15% or 18%). There were 3 of us so I questioned the waitress about this charge. Her response was that it’s written on the menu… Really? I sat there for approximately 25 minutes by myself while waiting for my daughter and her husband. Nowhere on the menu did I see any mention of an automatic gratuity nor was I told by any employee about this«policy». Then again, I was only looking at the food and beverage sections of the menu… which I imagine is what most people do when they go to a pub. Anyhow, I felt that this«policy» was wrong on so many levels including being deceptive, assumptive, greedy, etc. The fact is that I would have left more than 15% because the service at The Old Pro was fine and, having been a waiter, I appreciate and show my support of good service with tips of 20+%. Rather than just accept this ludicrous practice, I wrote in an amount equal to –15% in the«Additional Tip» column, totaled the amount for the food and beverages and signed the receipt. I checked my credit card statement this morning and found that the amount charged to my account by the Old Pro was for 30%. WTF? I’m stunned. To have the gumption to file a fraudulent credit card authorization. Yes, my credit card company is aware of what happened and is investigating. The Old Pro food, beverage and service were/are all okay(i.e. not great but not bad). However, this business practice/policy of The Old Pro management disgusts me, leaving such a horrible taste in my mouth and upset stomach that none of my family or friends will ever go to or recommend The Old Pro. Old Pro customers beware!

Love the Old Pro! I am a sports bar connoisseur and as sports bars go, OP is the OG! Actually I don’t know if it’s the OG but it seems appropriate. Great space with LOTS of TV to go around. They have crap lite beers on tap or in bottle and that’s all I drink when I am in for a long Sunday Funday. I order the nachos with tater tots and they always do me right!

Great Vibes from this place. Awesome crowd and the food is restaurant quality rather than bar food.

Their atmosphere is nice. Beer is reasonable but food is a bit expensive. One thing I don’t like was that they added 18% tip automatically in my bill. We were just two of us. Not a large group. We would be understandable if we were a large group. Then, they said that they charge 18% tip automatically to give good service. Seriously? Their service was just average.

I can say I was SUPER impressed with Old Pro… I was convinced by a coworker to go here while I was in town. I can tell you, I was not looking forward to it. I thought it was going to be a swanky Palo Alto bar and I wasn’t going to feel the vibe. BOYWAS I WRONG! We were there right around happy hour, we wanted to grab dinner and a few drinks… the wings were killer, the sandwiches were on point, and to top it off, Don Julio and I had a GREAT time during my visit! Along with a great environment and televisions a plenty, I was super impressed with the service and the music they played. They played hip hop to pick up the vibe… but it was old school hip hop that us folk in our 30 – 40 something can relate too. Everyone seemed to be having a great time and it was definitely worth the visit and worth the money. I can honestly say when I go back to Mountain View for work, I will make it a point to make it back to Old Pro — no doubt!

Great wings, american food, beer towers, best game-day type atmosphere around the area. Definitely my favorite sports bar in the Bay.

This place gets packed pretty quick during happy hour so come early to grab a seat. It’s spacious with tons of long tables so you can squeeze your groups in. Although on the other hand, if there is just two of you and you are uncomfortable eating dinner sharing a table with strangers, then maybe not the best place for you. The bf and I came here for dinner on a Tues night, got a seat pretty quick and proceeded to order a ton of food. Shared the artichoke dip, I got the Elvis burger, and he got some fish and chips. Portions are huge, there was more than enough for the two of us and then some. Food is what you would expect from a typical sports bar, but pretty comprehensive menu and they had some good options for the specials. Would definitely come back. Plus, I want to see someone actually try out the mechanical bull that they have in the corner ;)

So it was my birthday(March 5th) and we decided to go here, first mistake of the evening. We walked in and sat ourselves without being greeted. It was absolutely dead, like maybe 5 people in the place. After about 7 minutes a girl walked over and asked what we wanted to drink. No hello, no my name is…, just asked what we wanted to drink. I kind of glanced around for a drink or food menu and asked if we could have menus. She brought some back and pointed out that we sat in a section that wasn’t set up. It looked set up to me, I didn’t know! I asked her if she wanted us to move since she seemed upset about it. She said no but explained that’s why we didn’t have menus. So we just sat down, and I’m already feeling unwelcome. Then a different server comes back and asks if she can get us drinks. We order drinks and begin looking at food and she asks us FOR A CARD to start a tab. Umm… seriously? He gives her one and she leaves and brings drinks back but no card. So now I’m really feeling like, why are we here. We then immediately ask to close out the tab. Awesome bday dinner, thanks guys! Just a small sales pointer: you’ll make a lot more profit if you train the staff to be welcoming and accommodating as opposed to miserable and dismissive. I literally felt like we weren’t wanted there. Thumbs down from someone who almost never leaves negative reviews.

I thought this place was called to old crow until I went for the first time. Service was Zippy, even though there were a lot of people! Ordered some wings tossed in a mix of buffalo/teriyaki and they were very nice. So good, I ordered another plate. Also, the beer tower was legit. Will be back soon to watch some baseball!

Basic, a 3-. This place is overpriced with no ambiance. Their jello shots are overpriced and have no alcohol. I had a martini, and it was only a dollar more than the jello shot. It was delicious, and the bartender didn’t make a fuss when I asked for extra olives. Most of the seats are reserved, but we found a table in the back. There wasn’t a big game on that night, so it was full but lacked energy. I’d recommend going on a game day/night.

It is your marquee, basic college sports bar. It isn’t as grimy as most, but it’ll probably run your tab a little higher than most as well. Net zero. Welcome to the SF Bay Area. Must have lots of TVs, lots of college flags and school spirit for all, so it really just does the job well and is decently large so you aren’t crazy packed. Maybe just even more crazy packed. Who knows, matter of perspective. Solid food, solid drinks, solid time. Then there’s the bull. Yeah, most people ride it, but I passed on pretty much giving the bull a lap dance and getting my region angry at being jostled around so much in the wrong way. Honestly, one of my go to spots in the area right next door to NoLa.

Nice old-school sports bar with bar food(onion rings, french fries, hot wings) for when you want a super-American vibe, reasonable prices, and chill atmosphere. The servers are«just okay» — not the friendliest, not terrible — parking is nightmarish in downtown Palo Alto(but you already knew that).

a DIVEY sports bar that not only has TV’s but also a mechanical bull? the bar was very open air when we came so we could enjoy the nice cool summer air —Mexican Mule: not usually on the menu at places but basically a Moscow Mule with tequila instead of vodka, glad they were able to make this for me! we didn’t try the food but i only stopped into old pro to get a drink after dinner

I came with my work peeps for an offsite and it was overall a great experience. They have a mechanical bull! After a few drinks, go all out on challenging your friends how long you can last on the bull! ;). The food was pretty good! We had garlic fries, «hot» wings(which are totally safe to eat because they weren’t hot at all! Then again, I am Mexican…), tater tots, and sweet potato fries. Everything tastes great and fresh. We also had 3 beer towers of an amber ale beer, which disappeared quick! Not the restaurant’s fault though! Lol. We sure had a blast. I would definitely come back! Enjoy your beer! Cheers! =D

I used to come here a lot with my UT crew because it’s the bar the south bay UT longhorns go to watch games. but if there’s a local stanford or usc or any other california team really game playing — UT’s will be in the background :/drink and food is typical bar food except the tot-chos OMFG nachos made with tator tots instead of chips. they’re amazing. they also have shot-ski’s(shots on a ski) which is fun for special occasions :) i only give it 3 stars because it’s just a typical sports bar, and if it weren’t for the UT games i probably wouldn’t go… and there’s one bitchy waitress that’s ruined a couple of my experiences there. some of the other reviews allude to this girl from the looks of it.

I came here on a Sunday night with a pretty huge group. It was already getting late and near closing time but service was still decent. We ordered a tower of Lagunitas IPA to share and some food. We ended up with a bunch of tots somehow but they were good. The tower was huge and fun to share although it didn’t taste like Lagunitas IPA somehow??? Maybe we were accidentally served another beer or maybe my taste buds are screwy. The place is big! Lots of big TVs around. I wonder what the atmosphere is like in the daytime. Definitely proved to be fun for big groups.

Came for a Friday lunch with some co-workers and had a great time. Service was great, food portions ginormous and delicious. Décor will definitely appeal to the sports loving fan with all the décor around and bar style communal seating everywhere. Just a warning that the cesar salad was a touch overwhelming with the anchovies and salt. Will have to see when it’s busy, but overall, had a great time and great eats here. Takes AmEx, parking can be a bee.
