This wonderful, eclectic shop has everything! Beautiful hand-​crafted jewelry, fun clothing and handbags (check out the Peter Kent bags from Argentina — I’m the importer!!), fabulous finds for your home (new and antique charmers), adorable childrens items, bath products that make you want to run home and jump in the tub, and so much more! It’s all tightly packed, but wonderfully merchandised, in a small house. The sales staff are all terrific and definitely know their stuff. If you are looking for that perfect, unique gift for someone run, don’t walk, to Thistle! It’s one stop holiday shopping for the female of every age in your life. Located in downtown Palo Alto on Waverly between Hamilton and Forest (west side of the street).

Unless you’re struggling to find parking near University on a busy Saturday night, you will probably overlook Thistle, a shop nestled past Hamilton on Waverly. The store, which is a converted house that looks just like the others on the block, offers a variety of off-​beat goods from around the world, including clothing. The prices are a bit prohibitive, but when things go on sale, it’s not unusual to find unique offerings at near-​Goodwill prices.
The store’s hours seem indeterminate, but there may be a posting on the door – frankly I don’t recall. At any rate, it’s not realistic to expect «regular» from Thistle.
