True Salon

This review is for Jodi, who did a beautiful job fixing a haircut which wasn’t working for me. A new stylist at the salon had not been able to give the haircut I was looking for, and when I returned, Jodi realized the situation, and calmly stepped in to start over again. I was very happy with the result and will definitely return to the salon. What started out as a frustrating experience ended up being very positive! Thank you Jodi!

I’ve been coming to True Salon for about 2 years now. My stylist Gina is amazing. She spends time washing and cutting my hair and really maximizes my Keratin shampoo each time. She also blew dries my hair perfectly, without all the tug and pull (I have long hair). If you’re a woman you know its hard finding a great stylist who actually cuts your hair the way you THINK its going to turn out and also gives you her honest option.

I’m very disappointed that I have to write this review because I have gone to this salon for color and was very happy. Unfortunately this time around it was not the same experience. I made appointment with Tiffany it didn’t bother me that she was 20minutes late but she kept asking the other stylist what to use in my hair I should have got up from that moment. All I wanted was a rich chocolate brown color and I left with light brown and blond strikes which my roots is lighter than my ends. I now have to go spend more money to fix it I just want to cry.

I’ve tried multiple salons in this area, and all are good, but this one is GREAT. The cut Kimberly gave me is not only the best one I’ve ever had, but one of the cheapest!!! I won’t be trying any other salons while I live in the Bay.

Ever since I decided to go to True Salon to upgrade my look, I have felt better about my appearance, and have been getting nothing but compliments from people I know. I’ve been going to Vanessa most of the time, but have also had cuts from Tiffany and Jodi. All of them were able to bring their creativity and ideas to my hair, which has been a great experience. The salon is clean and friendly, and Lany at the front desk is always a fabulous hostess. Would recommend to any guy like myself, and have also heard great things from my women friends who go there. Great job, guys, you’ve got a long-​term customer in me!

I’ve just had another fabulous cut and color by Gina. Since starting with her about five cuts ago my style is so much better. She is really smart, and remembers exactly how I like it and what I need. I can actually let her think for me, which I never let anyone do. I’ve been hard to please with my hair, so this is very unusual for me to be so delighted with my hair stylist!

I love the salon… The stylists are so friendly and I get the best service every time. I was able to get a same day appointment for a cut color and appreciated that. The pricing is reasonable and well fitting the service you get. I highly recommend the salon to anyone.

I had previously visited True for a haircut and loved the final result. I decided to pay them another visit and get another cut plus get my hair colored for the very 1^st time! I am glad I came back because I walked out of there LOVING my new look! The staff was super helpful and friendly. I love True Salon and is for sure my Salon of choice!

I needed a trim badly, and called up True Salon based on the positive reviews. Tiffany cut my hair, and I lucked out to have her as my stylist. She’s a natural conversationalist, and she nailed the look I was hoping for. I’ll be back in.

Tiffany has been doing my hair for years. That’s saying a lot since I have super kinky curly hair and LOVE it pin straight. She does my Keratin treatments every 3 months and color every 6 weeks. She is amazing with color and and style. I won’t let anyone else go near my hair! Everyone at the salon is super friendly and professional. Highly recommend Tiffany!

I chose this salon based on the fact that it was a kerastase salon and that my hair was getting out of control. The best way to describe this place is that I walked out with a $ 50 haircut that looked like I had cut upside down by myself in the dark. I have chunks missing out of my hair on all sides and it’s going to take at least a year to grow out.
I asked that it get thinned out, I expressed I was wary about razor thinning and I didn’t want it too short. I not only got all three, I also have a big chunk missing out of the front right side. She went in with the razor, checked my hair and said that my hair «was responding well to the razor». What. My hair reacted as I thought it would. I have flyaways and it is growing in unevenly. I have been to a different salon three more times to fix my hair and each time they find a new chunk missing on my head.
You can tell she had no idea how to cut hair when she tousled my hair a little, picked up a piece and started to cut into it. Drops it, tousles it again. Combs it down with her finger. Picks up another piece. Cuts into it. Tousles. Repeat.
Do not get your hair cut with Vanessa. you will leave crying and spending more money fixing your hair at other salons.
Update: I called the owners with my concern. The front desk lady wouldn’t forward my call, she said she would pass on my message. No call back. I even waited 4 weeks to write this review in hopes of my hair growing out. Times has simply exacerbated the uneven details and layers.

I love visiting True Salon because I always come away with a great hair cut! Cat is friendly, knowledgable and has amazing skills; I always leave happy. Just got my hair cut today, and someone actually stopped me on the street as I left the salon to compliment my cut and ask me who did my hair; truly a testament to Cat’s skills.

Tiffany recently cut and colored my hair. My hair was very long and I wanted to change it up a bit. Tiffany offered many suggestions and recommended a long bob with some layering so I can curl my hair. It turned out better than I can imagine!
Tiffany has been doing my hair for years: cuts, color, highlights, straightening treatments, you name it! She even did my hair for my wedding! She always does an amazing job. If you’re in the area or are in need of a new stylist, GO SEE HER!
True salon has a very relaxed ambiance and open space. It is not crowded and is decorated perfectly! Everyone is very friendly and they have delicious teas :)

At first, I wasn’t happy with my haircut because I thought it was cut way shorter than I wanted it to be. I had asked for a trim and she took off what seemed like several inches. With my hair already short, this was an incredible difference. However, the haircut has grown out pretty nicely, and I get compliments on it now. So… what do I say? Mostly good job? I don’t know how to put it, so I am giving them three stars.

I was looking around for a new place to get my hair cut on Unilocal and came across true and decided to call up and see if they had any appointment open for the day.
The receptionist who took my call was very kind and well spoken.
She had stated that she had one appointment open and that it would be with Jessica.
Upon arriving I was quickly greeted and told that Jessica would be with me shortly. In about 2 minutes I was greeted by a very kind young lady who introduced herself to me and asked if I cared for anything to drink.
My hairstylist seem to care about me through the whole process and asked me what my likes or dislikes were when getting my haircut. I explained to her that I hate hair getting on my neck, that it makes me itch really bad! She assured me that she would make me as comfortable as possible.
It took about an hour total to get my haircut. But it was an amazing experience! I have already set up my 5 week appointment at true! I’m so glad I chose to come to true today!
If your looking for great service and a wonderful haircut go see Jessica at true! You won’t regret it!

Very nice salon but it took almost 4 hours and my hair didn’t look much different from when I arrived. Very overpriced. Trim, highlights that blended so well, no one noticed and recommended shampoo and conditioner was $ 230.00. Tip not included. It took so much time and such an expensive lesson here.
I waited a few weeks to see if the highlights became more pronounced but they just faded away. I cancelled the next appointment since I really didn’t see much point.
Everyone was lovely but with so many salons in Palo Alto, I’m going to continue my search for a great trim and highlights.
