WSPA was a very nice surprise! I just visited Sunday evening 1÷10÷2016 and had a great experience. I came across several Swedish massage businesses while searching in the Palo Alto area. Not knowing the areas entirely well nor am I a regular patron to get massages, I relied mostly on reviews and gut instincts. I was skeptical about WSpa at first, since I could not find many reviews; reviews on Unilocal was really hit or miss. But a quick read on Groupon’s review showed more positives which gave me the reassurance to try Wspa. I took my Fiancé here for her birthday, since we had about 1.5hrs to kill in-between watching a musical and dinner. We were let out of the show slightly late and ended up arriving 15-mins late for our session. Prior to arriving, I called letting them know I would be 10 – 15 mins late, and the receptionist assured me «it’s okay, take your time». Upon arriving, we were checked in promptly into separate rooms(I don’t think they have a couples room). The rooms were dimly lit, small, clean and comfortable: There’s a small corner table with a towel heater, a large massage bed with appropriate linens, dimly reddish hue for lighting, and ambiance music lightly playing. As with a few other guests here, I didn’t notice where to put my clothing and my lady quickly pointed to the 2 large hooks behind the door. Bonus points — the massage bed was heated and very comfortable! A few other places I’ve tried have unheated beds. Shortly after getting into bed, my lady gave a brisk knock and I invited her into the room to begin the session. I didn’t ask for my therapist’s name, but she was very welcoming and spoke with a soothing Chinese accent. She’s from Asia and has been working as a therapist for over 5 years. She’s quite proud of her strength and admits to being very good at deep tissue massage. I always appreciate a quick chat(which we did for about 5 minutes while she began working on my back), which is a nice way to break the ice and ease any tension between strangers. I was asked if I wanted light-medium-heavy massage and if I had any areas I wanted to avoid. I asked my therapist to go heavy on my back, medium elsewhere, and avoid my head or face entirely. Let’s just say, my therapist followed my instruction to the T!!! I had a stubborn knot in my back for the past 3 – 4 weeks and despite my plead with my Fiancé, she’s too scared to rub it out for me :) Let’s just say after a session at WSpa, the back felt SOOMUCHBETTER. During my session, I noticed my therapists also used some new techniques I haven’t experienced before at other facilities, and through the limited times I’ve gotten a massage, this was probably the BEST one yet. Best of all towards the end of the treatment, I received a full body hot towel wipe that felt wonderful due to the heat, but also helped cleaned all the massage oils off my body. My fiancé’s experience was also very good. she requested a light massage and commented afterwards that her experience was very relaxing and comfortable, so much so that she was very sleepy during and after. In summary, WSpa is located off University Ave. in Palo Alto, so it’s in a nice neighborhood. The storefront is small yet nicely appointed and the rooms in the back is simple, clean, and perfectly(dimly) lit. I was hesitant to try this business due to the lack of/hit & miss reviews, but I’m very happy I tried out this place. Although everyone’s mileage will vary, I found this one of the best massage sessions I’ve had and the cost is VERY reasonable as well; $ 65 for an hour. Really can’t beat that for the massage I received. Go for it, give it a try. I think you’ll like it as I did this past Sunday! Tip — I tipped $ 20 for the hour.

Horrible experience! My massage therapist clearly had NO experience. I have never wanted a massage to end so badly. First of all, she watched a how-to video on her phone the entire time and did her best to follow the video. She left me mostly exposed the entire time. I had to pull the sheets to cover my body as I was freezing. As she climbed over me to massage my lower back, her knee was resting against my head, causing her to sit on me. She would do one thing on one side of the body and never did the same thing on the other side. She never had me flip over to do anything to my front. As I had had enough to say, «No more! Stop!» the manager came in. I had to beg them both to leave the room so that I could get dressed. Please do yourself a favor and skip a massage if this is your only alternative…

Better than my Four Seasons massage and wasn’t as expensive! Yay. Brought my mom for a nice deep tissue massage. Very friendly staff, extremely relaxing massage, beautiful ambiance. Will definitely be back!

I took advantage of a Groupon deal and found W Spa to be clean, professional and relaxing. A great alternative to other pricier massages nearby. I definitely recommend.

Getting massages is not cheap, I would recommend spending your money elsewhere. I had the hot stone massage. Most importantly, they weren’t professional at all. The therapist kept the door open first 5 min., kept talking to someone outside as she was«massaging» my foot with one hand. Another therapist came into the room and they chatted while I was laying there. The massage itself was also very poorly done. I’ve had many massages before and have a high tolerance for pressure but this one was extremely painful. I kept telling her to do lighter pressure and she kept pressing harder. I told her multiple times she was hurting me. It was very obvious that she was not professionally trained(or didn’t understand me at all). I was seriously worried about getting injured the whole time. I’m sorry but if you’re charging $ 120 for a massage, you need to have a professional masseuse who knows what she is doing.

I was pleasantly surprised with W Spa. I arrived on time and was greeted nicely by a few employees. Handed my paper Groupon coupon to the receptionist and followed Chloe to the massage room. Appeared clean and very simply decorated. There were no chairs in the room so I asked about where to put my belongings and they showed me two large double hooks on the door. I undressed and the hooks held all my belongings. Then I was given a paper cup of water, which I saved for after the massage. The massage bed was fine, not too hard nor too soft and unheated, but heat was not necessary because the room temperature was fine(and I’m usually cold!) Nowhere at this point was I asked about any sores, aches, illnesses, or pressure preferences. Nor was I given any questionnaires about want I wanted or expected or any history of anything they may have needed to know. Chloe proceeded to massage… wonderful massage. Just the right pressure and nice stroking with lotion. Lighting was dim and I wasn’t bothered by any noises, if there was some. I just enjoyed the hour. The only thing I would mention would be the sheet could have covered more body than what she covered. I sometimes thought I was a little bit uncovered. I didn’t want the time to end, but it finally ended and I got dressed and left. No hassle with tipping as I’ve had before at other massage places. Yes, I did tip because I liked the massage, not because someone is telling me to tip! I also, had no problems with making reservations. I called and spoke with someone and picked a day and time that was available. Overall a good experience and would do it again.

Used a groupon. Appointment was hard to schedule as they said they only has openings at 11am, although no one appeared to go after me. My massage was mediocre and not the full 60 minutes, only 50 minutes tops. I was never asked how I wanted the massages, pressure, what to go work on etc… I was never offered water. Upon leaving a tip was demanded from me. Even with a group on… Not worth it!

Do not make online booking here! They will not honor your bookings and give the runaround. I made a booking last week and they claimed that they never received the booking information and that we shoudn’t do online booking! Why do they have online booking if it didn’t work. They even claim to save 5 $ if you do online booking. I paid via paypal and didn’t receive the service. They don’t reply to emails and I am now working with paypal to get my money back. I have no idea how the massage would have been and I am not going there again. The lady had communication problem and clearly didn’t understand when I said that I made a booking.

I was visiting Palo Alto on business and stopped in this store circumstantially. After a long flight followed by stressful meeting, it was best idea ever to indulge in a massage! I was welcomed and greeted by friendly staff at the desk. Then, my experience with the introduced therapist was top-notch. I was, indeed, pampered from the minute I walked in and the service was exceptional in every detail. She delivered customized message upon my request. I felt like a VIP the entire time! Highly recommended!

Today is my first time to visit here, love this place, everyone is very nice! A good place for relaxing! I have 2 kids, my boy, I have to carry him all the time, so I just want to find a place can relax my shoulder and my arm! Today the Masseur, Una, she is a super Professional Masseur I ever seen! And she also has a lot of experience of taking care of baby and exercise to help heal the shoulder pain! It helps! I definitely will come back for her and thanks her so much! :)

We used a groupon voucher for an hour long massage each– it was a great deal! My husband and I both had Chloe and she was really excellent. She asked us where we’d like for her to focus on and really listened. I had very tense shoulders and she worked away on each knot and kink. The place is still new and thus, can use a few tweaks to ensure it is managed and run efficiently. Bottom line is the massage was really very good!

I haven’t tried the place for a major of reason. According to their website, they only offer massages. Strange since they call themselves a «spa.» I received a groupon as a gift and planned on adding on additional service, but there are none.

For the price, it was a decent experience. Super nice staff that really made sure you were comfortable. Idk if it was because I was using a groupon, but I didn’t really get the relief I thought I would be from my message. Then again it was a basic massage that didn’t really go very deep. That being said, perhaps worth going back again and upgrading.

Used a groupon to try this place. Meh. Strong points: clean, inexpensive place downtown to get massage, massage ok. Needed improvements: –temp. I was cold, no fun when you’re try to relax. –sound machines. I could hear the lobby conversation the whole time –therapist didn’t ask my preference for area to focus or preferred pressures. And probably what bothered me the most. The front desk person prompted me to give cash tip when I came out, in front of the massage therapist and the customers. Both customers commented to me on the uncomfortable nature of the interaction when staff was gone. This type of business practice is a huge pet peeve of mine. Doubtful they’ve won my customer loyalty. I will try once more.

Wonderful value, easy access just off University Ave! I had a 30 minute massage by Ashley which felt like it was an hour. The staff were very friendly, and the massage quality was very good. However, they have some kinks to work out in their sound system and overall the salon was not as posh as some can be. This is reflected in the price, i.e. very reasonable, so overall I would recommend them.
