Been here twice, my bad judgment! First for an afternoon lunch. Service was so poor I had to get up to find the one server. The second time was after nine pm. Usually nothing is open after 9 in PV, so we stayed. Although they say they are open until 10, the one server was still the only one. Again I had to go find him, this time to also remind him he had not brought my entrée. The food was the only thing good about this place, except the prices are fair, all things considered. As another reviewer writes, the décor is from the 50’s, and hasn’t seen an upgrade in the past 20 years. We sat in a booth in which I sank so low I could barely see the table top so I had to get a chair. Don’t lean your elbows on the table tops as they will stick to it as do the plates and glasses. The wine is Kendall-Jackson they say, although I saw no bottle; but the pour was generous. But don’t try to slide your glass across the table, or it will likely spill. The chips were fresh and warm and the other two in my party said their food was good, but I won’t go back(unless it’s after 9 and there is no other option). And they don’t take Amex, only Visa.

Great view, great food! Had the ceviche tostada, perfect amount of citrus, piled high on a tostada, yum! The burrito was great too, forgot the name but the chile verde was homemade and tasted like mexico. The view of Catalina Island was amazing!!! Go here!

Two stars is actually kind. I have eaten a lot of mexican food and this is among the poorest inhale experineced to date. I prefer writing a good review but this food is so easy to do I hate to se anyone waste a meal here. PV is desperate for decent food options but nit this desparate. The beans, rice, and salsa are all poorly cooked and have very weak flavor. The enchilada wa undercooked and the taco lacked anything thatbwould make you want to finish it. All that a plus the p, ace was almost empty and the service was still poor. Decent Mexican food joints are a dime a dozen here in LA. We do not need to accept something so below par.

My wife and I came here for dinner tonight on a lark. Here’s our impression: * The place looks scary. Like«we haven’t worried about interior decorations in 20 years» concerning. Some of the booths were in a state of disrepair normally enjoyed by 1970s automobiles. * The view is quite nice — we could see catalina from our table. * Chips and Salsa were good, not too greasy. * There were UFOs(unidentified floating objects) in the water caraffe, but we ordered regular drinks which seemed fine. * At the server’s recommendation, we tried the«Padrino Burrito»(our choices for fillings were chicken, black beans). It was surprisingly good, and the ingredients seemed quite fresh! * It was affordable. I think the burritos were about $ 10 /each.(The dollar: calorie ratio is fantastic!) I think we’d probably return again, although I think a little renovation would go a long way for this place.

I had a business meeting in Rancho Palos Verdes and we came here to discuss the details over a meal. We kind of found this place by accident on my Iphone when searching for restaurants in the area. You could drive right past this place several times even when looking for it. The sign for this restaurant is located within a small strip mall, the center of the strip mall leads to the restaurant which is located in the back. The restaurant was not packed at all. The food was good. The service was great. I ordered carne asada and beans. I tend to keep my orders very simple when I am not familiar with an establishment. The parking lot is located in front next to a Liquor Store. If you have ever been to RPV you know you will never have to worry about parking. You tell people meet me in RPV and they have no idea where it is, which is just the way we like it=) I will come back.

The guacamole was pretty good. That was before we discovered our booth was full of roaches. They were right on our shoulders. Pretty gross. The guy didn’t seem to care much.

Casa Pronto’s… Pros: 1. Beautiful location and great views of the Lunada Bay. 2. Festive interior décor. Some might say it’s kitsch, but I think it’s party-ready. 3. There’s a bar on one side just for hanging out and drinking, although I’ve never actually sat at the bar. 4. Portion sizes are pretty decent. 5. I enjoyed the tortilla soup. The chicken was extremely tender. Cons: 1. Nothing too special about the food. Nice fries, the steak wasn’t all that great, neither was the rice. 2. General pricing ranges from $ 8-$ 15. So, it’s a mid-level restaurant. I’ve had more tender steak at Chipotle for less. 3. If you’re not familiar with the area, it’s not the easiest restaurant to find. Why I would continue going back to Casa Pronto’s? Well, I live a 2-minute walk away from this place. It’s a stone’s throw away. So, whenever the desire for Mexican hits and I’m too lazy to venture out further, this place fits the bill. Now would I go out of my way to dine here if I didn’t live nearby? Probably not.

The server was not helpful, though he was attentive. I asked how the shrimp enchiladas were prepared and he says«I’ve never had them». I told him that wasn’t my question. He finally tells me they come with a red sauce(there isn’t a description in the menu). I order the shrimp enchiladas and they are horrible. The shrimp are small and clearly not fresh and had an odd taste to them. I only ate one bite. The rice and beans were tasty. My boyfriend’s carne asada burrito was also not of high quality, and the meat was actually sour tasting.

This is a great little mexican restaurant located in a strip mall in beautiful Lunada Bay. Parking is easy, but you don’t see this place right away because it’s tucked back into the mall, off a lovely little courtyard. Casa Prontos has tasty(if not the most authentic) mexican food at very reasonable prices — the portions are huge, and the food is consistently good. I recommend a combo dish(Chile Relleno, shredded beef crispy taco and Enchillada is my pick). Dinners also come with your choice of soup or salad — I recommend the tortilla soup — hearty, big chunks of chicken and veggies, and delicious cheese. If you are in Palos Verdes and looking for some good mexican food somewhere cute, convenient and cheap, this place is DEFINITELY worth a visit — my wife and I go here once or twice a month, and it’s always worth it to come back. Oh, and this place is great for group lunches or dinners — they will work with you to put together a special menu and the prices can’t be beat. We had dinner and drinks for 40 people one evening and the total bill — including a generous gratuity, was less than $ 400.

Roaches. That’s right, roaches. I’ll get to that… We live a few minutes away and decided to try here one night. We were greeted with a nice lady who was a horrible waitress. She forgot to bring us menus, my Sprite was served in a dirty glass and she brought me the wrong soup. While waiting for our entrees, two roaches poked up from behind the booth and I almost lost it. We sat, wondering and shocked over the situation, since I have never experienced this before, then our food came. The roaches reappeared before the waitress left, at which time I pointed and I told her to look. She seemed embarrassed and offered to move us to another table. I told her my appetite was ruined and she said she was sorry. The manager(I think), came over and said we were all good to go if we wanted, so we did. They were nice people, but unfortunately that does not excuse the situation. I have never written a bad review before, but I just want to warn people, especially those with children, because it’s just not sanitary there.

Absolutely horrible. Place is deserted and very very dirty and sticky. The food is overpriced. For better Mexican go to chipotle … Or even taco bell. Eat here at your own peril.

I gotta go with 4 stars because I loved this place. I think they’ve been in this location for four years, hidden from street view. There’s easy breezy free parking everywhere, this is PVE! What the heck took me so long to get myself into Casa Pronto’s?! Who knew the interior would be so colorful and charming? Who knew I’d have an ocean view(over the treetops) from one of the three booths by the window? And who knew the service would be as charming as the décor? And who knew, that for 5 bucks I’d get fresh table side guacamole?! I watched them slice the avocados, and was asked if I wanted tomato & cilantro. Sure! Yum to the max, I ate the entire bowl of guac. Had to order the rest of the meal ala carte, I was getting full… I got a grilled shrimp taco for only $ 3.50, and a cheese enchilada for $ 2.75. My entire tab including tax: $ 12.90. Their placemat displays simple phrases translated to Spanish. So I learned a little today. Muche gusto(pleased to meet you), Casa Pronto’s! I loved your tostadas y salsa(chips & salsa). Gracias for the wonderful service and for your colorful décor. So much to delight the eye! Food and prices were great, por favor don’t change a thing. Casa Pronto’s has a bar separate from the dining room, a good menu including a kids menu, beer & wine, hand made fresh soups, and now they are open for lunch. The menu offers a dozen different burritos, 20 combo plates, 16 Mexican traditional plates, salads, appetizers, quesadillas, and more. I am gonna get fat! OK, fatter. Cuz I am coming back! Until then, adiós…

Since I essentially live across the street, I decided to wander over for happy hour. The tacos and beer were cheap, but bland and unmemorable. Despite the convenience, if I’m craving Mexican I’ll make a quesadilla at home.

Every neighborhood needs a decent mexican restaurant. These guys try hard, prices are cheap and they are great value for money. Kid friendly. Chile relleno is good, yum.

Locals know this hidden treasure located in Palos Verdes Estates. PRONTO’s serves authentic Mexican food at it’s best. They use the most fresh vegetables and ingredients, giving you the freshness of a home cooked meal! Prices are very reasonable and they offer lunch and dinner specials daily. Service is always excellent and friendly. They also have a wonderful bar area to enjoy various sports games.

Decent, cheap Mexican food on the beautiful PV Peninsula. What I loved about this place was the tray of four salsas they brought out with the fresh tortilla chips. They were all quite good, and it was nice to have some variety instead of just the standard Mexican restaurant table salsa. We came here pretty ravenous after an afternoon climbing around the rocks at Abalone Cove, so we pretty much decimated the chips when we arrived; some tacos and fajitas soon received similar treatment. Everything tastes good when you’re hungry(as our waiter pointed out), but I think we would have enjoyed this place regardless. The quality was nothing eye-poppingly great, but it was tasty and satisfying. We left happy.
