Mellow Mushroom

Tastes great but they NEVER answer their phone. Probably missing out on lots of $$$. Maybe hire more people if this is always an issue (which it seems to be). Seriously just called 8 times in 20 mins and no one answered once. I get it you’re busy that’s great but would love to order some pizza! We don’t have MM where we live so we were looking forward to some before we left.

The pizza here is good. The service was friendly but my order seemed to take a long time, almost 50 minutes. The bartender (I ordered carryout) kept reassuring me it was just going to take a few more minutes… when I got the pizza home one was VERY WELL DONE. not burnt but damn near. still tasted fine but I guess it should have taken a few minutes less to prepare!
Place is impeccably clean and brightly painted. Great for a family or small groups inside. Cool transformer sculpture the kids will geek out on for sure. Lost of vegetarian options on the menu.

What other people have mentioned was also a problem for us — 45 – 60 min wait but open tables everywhere. Fortunately, we found four spots at the bar before then.
The servers could not have been nicer or more attentive. Just before we got our food, our server told us the kitchen had mistakenly brushed garlic butter on one of the pizzas. (We’d requested without.) A manager came out and said the new pizza would take an extra few minutes. We got both the «mistake» pizza and the correct one, and both were removed from the bill! Mistakes happen, and their response was dead-​on.
The food was outstanding, and I appreciated that the calories are listed right on the menu. The Great White and the calzone were our favs.
But seriously — the upstairs was empty. Invest in some more ovens and staff! The wait for food was really slow. We were warned that our pizzas would take 45 minutes, but our pretzel bite appetizer took about 30 min. It made me feel bad for the servers — they could be making more money if people weren’t sitting there for an hour.

Great food and service. We had an easy, delicious lunch. The meatball appetizer was awesome! Definitely try it if you’re a meatball fan.

Visited mellow mushroom Tuesday the 21^st.
Very disappointed because I heard the same exact excuse that we heard last time we were here two years ago.
Basically they said there was a 45 minute wait but there were tables available everywhere. I said why the long wait.
They said their kitchen was behind and they could not catch up so that’s why the wait was as long as it was.
So we waited and finally got our food .when we finally got our appetizers. they were cold and the pizza was not even average. it was very disappointing. as well the service was very slow and the quality of the food was not good. very disappointed.
Party of 6 $ 100+ bill

This is hands down the worst mellow mushroom I have ever been to. We came in with a party of 9 and were seated right away on the patio. That is where the good service stopped. Please note I used to be a server so I can understand a bad night. This was worse than a bad night. We ordered with no issues and waited. And waited. And waited. My food came out before any type of beverage came, not even water. We waited another 30 mins and finally water! Thankfully we were well hydrated before arriving here or we could have had a serious problem. More food came and we waited another 30 mins for our adult beverages. Finally the bartender came out to help deliver food and we politely asked about our drinks. She let us know that our server had failed to ring in our drinks. The bartender Christy saved the day by rushing our drinks. She deserves every cent of tip we are leaving.
We ordered a few pizzas and our server failed to bring out plates so everyone was eating off of napkins, we tend to be resourceful. Food tasted great so compliments to the chef but holy cow I’m amazed how awful the service is. After my meal my wine finally came and I am happier as I write this. Christy the bartender is really great. Our server not so much.

It was delicious as always. Although it was 6:00pm and they were out of coke? That’s just unheard of in a pizza place. We had the bruschetta and holy shiitake pizza.

From all pizza places Mellow Mushroom is at the top 3.
This particlular place is upbeat. Two story. Great music not too loud not too quite. In house maid pizza is always great.
I Really like transformer at the entrance.
Hostes at the entrance was wery nice. Our server and servers at other table was super enthusiastic. Great plus for this place.
Would recommend ro people who is staying at Panama City Beach.

I only had drinks with my husband but this location was really clean, music always good and who doesn’t love the smell of pizza?! Go see Ryan! We usually don’t sit at the bar but he made great conversation and was very knowledgeable about MM’s beer selection /​recommendations. I definitely suggest going.

Kids ate a 10 inch half bacon/​half sausage pizza
I had the cosmic karma gluten free pizza.
2 glasses of wine and the brownie and ice cream dessert for the boys and we were stuffed.
Great service and very attentive despite having quite a few tables. This was a great dining experience. Thank you Mellow Mushroom of Panama City.

I was way surprised by this place. I thought it was going to be just an other pizza place. However, it was a twist on a variety of pies. Plus the service was good, the food was good and the price was even better.

Mellow Mushroom is the BEST for gourmet pizza, cocktails and excellent service! Ask for Kray’s section… she is the best! Kray, Thanks for always providing extraordinary service (and perfect cocktails when you are bar tending)

This place is awesome. The staff, pizza, pretzels, bruschetta, & beer was amazing. First off the staff was attentive especially our waitress even though she was busy. She recommended some great beer & pizza options, plus split our checks properly. Local beer from Destin was a perfect match with the pizza. The pretzels to die for warm & chewy, yet soft inside. The marinara warm and delicious. Bruschetta loaded with tomatoes and balsamic reduction with some kind of magic crumbled cheese. The pizzas now that’s the most flavorful of them all. I had half mighty meaty half kosmic karma. Both were amazing… The mighty meaty loaded with meat and ReaL BaCoN. YES real bacon usually would be my favorite until I took a bite of the kosmic karma. I was blown away by all the fresh flavors. Pesto on point, tomatoes (sun dried and fresh) spinich, cheeses perfectly melted with the delicious sauce. The rest of the table loved their pizzas as well maui wowie, funky Q chicken, holy shiitake. We all left happy & full definitely telling friends to come here. Thanks to my instructors for the great recommendation.

As a vegetarian who eats a predominately vegan diet this place was a breathe of fresh hair in Panama City restaurant scene that relays a lot on fish. While I had a salad with a small about of feta, I could have asked for daiya (vegan cheese), it’s not my favorite vegan cheese but I appreciated it on the menu. They also had tofu which you don’t see too often outside Asian restaurants. I also appreciated that.
What really made me like this place was the waiter. He was such a gentlemen, such an awesome guy. I truely wished I remembered his name because I would tell everyone to request him.

Stopped by here to grab some food real quick before I continued on to my spring break 2016 festivities… Was greeted with a hi welcome to Mello Mushroom and seated right away. A minute later my waitress came over and introduced herself as Jenna and omg was she like the perfect waitress. So pleasant and interested in convo, small talk but still a talk. Told me about many tasty things on the menu, smiled and answered any questions I had in detail. I ordered the wings as an app and the meatball hoagie. The food was def worth another stop in before I exit and head back home in NY.
Def ask for Jenna if you ever decide to stop in. She’ll make you feel super welcomed.

We quizzed a friend who is a pizza fanatic and he told us Mello Mushroom is the best in the area. What great pizza! We ordered the house pizza, mushrooms, pepperoni, sausage, bacon (real bacon, not the Canadian stuff) peppers, and onions. It was loaded! The crust is unique too. Slightly sweet and not too thick. My friend was right this place was awesome! We were sat right away and served quickly, but we were here in February.

This time I just ordered take out. I typically do not like calling ahead for take out — but they make it so easy.
My dinner was a calzone with green olives. It was oozing with cheese & overstuffed with green olives. I could only eat half.
The lady at the bar was very nice.

Started off with the free bruschetta (pictured) that is available with a Unilocal checkin. Very good, and came out quickly. Balsamic drizzle with tomatoes, basil, and feta cheese. Bread was crunchy, without being hard. Perfect.
Ordered the jerk chicken hoagie. Once again, nailed it. Just enough spice to heat up the mouth a little, but not trying to cover up a lack of flavor because there was plenty. Very good. They even cut the roll so stuff won’t fall out of the end when you eat from the other.
Wife got the chicken and cheese hoagie and she said it was very good as well.
My toddler even slammed almost all of the kids Mac and cheese, and he never eats that much, so it must have been good as well.
Austin was our server and he was very good, attentive, came back to check on us and give refills when needed.
Friend of mine said she loves the pizza here too, and the ones we saw on other patrons tables looked very appetizing.
Great dining experience all around, if you are looking for a cheap spot to take the family you will not be let down.

The atmosphere of the Mellow Mushroom is what makes it so great. It’s got that hippie vibe about it and I like that.
The pizza and salad were great. Not the best I’ve ever had, but tasty. The crust was so fresh and soft. The cheese bread appetizer was just okay.
Service was good although there was a 40 minute wait for a table. I suppose that’s typical of dinner time in Panama City Beach.
I enjoyed it though and I would visit again next trip.

A lively, fun restaurant with great food options.
I was drawn to Mellow Mushroom for their vegan options, so I decided to stop by on a Thursday afternoon. It was only about 5:30, but it was already very busy with a 45 – 60 minute wait for a table. Luckily I was able to eye a spot at the bar, so I went over for a seat.
It was very cool to see diverse vegan options on the menu. I ordered pretzels with mustard and salt, holding the butter and parmesan. They were so fresh and delicious that I ate an entire ½ order on top of a calzone. The calzone was filled to the brim with Daiya cheese and they weren’t why about stuffing it with plenty of avocado and mushrooms. You can choose from a long list of toppings, but that was enough for me. It’s very hard to find a place that offers vegan calzones and the one from here was so good that I had no problem finishing it all. I was very full after my meal!
Heather, one of the bartenders, went out of her way to give top-​notch service. She was very friendly, helpful and attentive.
The only reason why I didn’t give them 5-​stars was the time the food took. I know that they’re very busy, but based on my observations and other reviews, they seem to be understaffed.
I will definitely be back!
