I’m sitting here typing this eating reheated Frankie D’s pizza that’s 2 days old. This is my 3rd experience with their deep dish pizza. Pay no attention to the bad reviews. If you like deep dish Chicago style pizza eat here. If you want it with the sauce on top just ask. Personally I like their version better. Some of the reviews are stupid because a great percentage of people are stupid. If you want a deep dish pizza of this quality your gonna have to wait for it.

I thought this place was awesome. For about a year now I’ve wanted to try it just seemed to always forget. Went in with my mom and her husband and was pleasantly surprised the menu looked good and the service was nice. Got myself a pizza and so did my mom and her her husband and it tasted awesome! Will be back!

Let me start by saying I have been a loyal Frankie D’s customer for several years. I have sung the praises of this establishment to anyone willing to listen. That being said, the service I received tonight was the worst service I’ve had anywhere at any time, at any restaurant. We entered the rest. around 8:20 and we’re finally greeted(1st contact) around 8:40. We finalized an order about 5 minutes later that included two pitchers of beer, an appetizer of cheese sticks, dinner consisting of a large thin crust pizza, one chicken tender basket, two kids chicken tenders, and three Italian cheesy beef sandwiches. We didn’t receive the appetizer until 1hr 15 minutes after placing the order and didn’t get the last items on the order until 1 hr 30 minutes after we placed out order. However, one if the most frustrating things that happened this evening was that we had to ask for all our silverware as well as every single condiment. Not ONCE did our waitress come to ask us if we needed anything or apologize for the wait. She did take $ 4 off our order because one if the dishes we had come in for(chicken wings) was frozen instead of being ready to cook. As painful as this is, in summation, this wasn’t just the worst service I’ve had here, it was the worst service I’ve had anywhere. For those reading the review, usually the food is good and the service is sub-par, but tonight was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I just can’t see how this can be tolerated by an owner unless he has never heard of these complaints. NEVERGOINGBACK!!!

I live within walking distance of Enzo’s, but drive here usually a couple of times a month, usually to get the thin crust Greek pizza. Compared to Enzo’s, it’s a taste sensation. They are not afraid to use herbs to make a robust sauce, obviously use a mozzarella with more moisture content, and they get their crust to a perfect crunch, but it’s not dry at all. I’ve had other things — their toasted ravioli, their salad — and it’s been good, but their thin crust pizza is what keeps me coming back. Their homemade tiramisu is great, but I seldom have room for it. The one waitress always seems to run around like crazy, very fast and friendly but they seem perpetually short staffed. The owner is nice, he comes out and helps occasionally. Overall, this place is a gem for locals. I hope the extra star helps balance out some of the negative reviews!

I am from Chicago, IL. I have had the great pleasure of eating at some great restaurants there. Here in Florida it’s been very difficult for me and my taste buds. I was recommend this place by people who say that the food here is «Chicago style»… I have had their Italian beef twice now and have come to the conclusion that they have never had an authentic or even an Italian beef in Chicago. That being said, I was pretty let down. They do not use the proper shredder beef, and they do not use cooked sweet bell peppers or soft hot peppers. What I got was regular sliced roat beef sandwich meat with hard whole hot peppers… when I asked for it dipped it was probably dipped for 1 second so the bread was still hard. This place is nicely decorated with Chicago memrobila and service there is nice but kinda slow seeing as how each time I’ve been only one person seems to. take the orders and serve. I don’t know how their other dishes are but to me if you ruin a beef thats it for me.

The young man who waited on us was really friendly and helpful. I ordered a sub sandwich. The sandwich was ok – nothing to shout from the rooftops but decent and came with fries. My husband ordered the chicken strips — again with fries. They were the best chicken we’ve ever had! Very fresh firm white meat and absolutely no grease. The coating was wonderful! I’m not sure what their secret is but with each bite, you get a delightful fresh herb taste that is hard to beat. I think if Frankie’s went into the chicken biz, they’d give all the chicken fast food a run. Plan to go back a few more times while we’re here for… you guessed it! Chicken!

I’m not sure about all of the bad reviews but we were hesitant to go. I’m glad we decided to make our own judgement. We had the Chicago deep dish meat lovers pizza and it was to die for. Our service was awesome and we couldn’t have been happier. The medium pizza was huge to here we have enough left for dinner tomorrow. We will definitely go again!

Good food poor management. My gift card got declined by mgnt because it was over a year old. I guess we still live in a world where gift cards carry expiration dates despite no mention of it. If you can get past the management its worth trying the Chicago style pizza at least once. If it wasnt for the fact that I knew the waitress and her kindness overshadowed their poor mgnt I’d miost likely never come back. So keep my $ 10. I guess thats how much returning customers are worth even if they only frequent the place on special occasions.

I should have written this review the last time I ordered but I got distracted throughout the week though tonight really lit a 5-alarm fire under my ass. Let’s talk about the last time I ordered food from Frankie D’s. I got their chicken dinner with garlic mashed potatoes and a veggie. And no, not from a selection of vegetables but just green beans. Well, should have mentioned that on your menu. Am I right? Yeah, I’m right because it said«veggies» and NOT green beans only. Ok, where do I even begin? First off… EVERYTHING was unseasoned and bland. I am dead serious when I say this. Not one sprinkle of salt or pepper even GLANCED at my whole meal. I had to season it myself and I did with salt, pepper, and adobo. After I had done that it tasted fine even though the green beans were soggy as f**k. The chicken was surprisingly moist as I have ordered their parmesan chicken and it was delivered FROZEN in the middle. I also ordered a salad and well, who can f**k up a salad? I’m sure it can be done but this time the salad was alright. But salads are pretty simple and that was the ONLY thing they did right. Now, for tonight. I call at 9PM. At this time they are STILLOPEN. I called and I called and I called and no one answered. I let it ring until the fax machine picked it up. No, not an answering machine. I’m sure they hook the fax up to the line when they want to close early. Which is pretty f**ked up because I was about to drop some serious cash on this place as I have 7 people all wanting individual orders [on the same tab so it makes it easier on THEM]. Not just a simple pizza but we all wanted individual entrees along with a salad. SEVENPEOPLE! Sucks you lost out on all that money, you asshats. Even though your food has been gross for me on so many levels and on so many occasions, I am STILL ordering. Well, never again. Did I mention that my ex and I once ordered a deep dish and it was just raw dough and made my ex BF throw up after all that raw s**t had sat in his stomach. We didn’t realize it was raw until we took a bite and then we didn’t say anything for not wanting to wait on another one [as ours took over and hour to cook and almost 2 hours to be delivered. Also, it was off season] and bother the cooks again as it was now too late. They gave us 10% off our next meal. Wow! 10%? Assholes. I am still calling in hopes they will answer right around closing time so I can be sure that their reason for not answering was true. Even if they don’t answer I still believe it because THEYARESUPPOSEDTOSTILLBEOPEN. Yet no one answers…

Enzo’s has much better thin crust pizza the first thing I order from Frankie’s was an almost 20.00 pepperoni thin crust pizza and man I was upset about the price let alone not that good.

What a joke this place is. Ordered delivery and after being told they weren’t doing delivery tonight, they reluctantly said we’ll make an exception and send my order out, I get a call saying«our delivery driver got in an accident and we can’t get your order out»…really? You originally said you weren’t doing any deliveries tonight, yet the driver got into an accident before leaving the store with my order(which would have been the only delivery)…obvious liars and morons… will blacklist this place to everyone I know

We go there EVERYTIME we visit PCB. We are Never disappointed. Great wings, awesome THINCRUST… the real thing! And always, a friendly server. Sometimes it’s the owner who will chat a while. And, lots of TV’s that they will change to help you enjoy your visit with them! Sorry that they are no longer at the beach… but small business have had it tough and i’m proud of them for still even being open. It’s worth the drive into town from West Beach!

The food is really good and the prices are not to high for what you get. They also do a Military discount. The service was very good. They were up front on how long the deep dish pizza would take and offered us some other options. We ordered the deep dish and had a few beers. It was worth the wait. If you are in a hurry and do not want to sit and wait then you might not want to stop by. They have Rolling Rock on draft and it’s only $ 1.00! We will be coming back here a lot more…

Not impressed. Prices are on the high end for this type of food(pizza, hot dogs, etc.) and service has always been just dreadful. The first time I went I ordered a deep dish pizza, which the menu warns can take up to 45 minutes to cook. That was fine, but an hour later when the server came out to tell me they had forgotten to put the pizza in the oven(there was only one other group in the restaurant during this time) I was disappointed but tried to be understanding and ordered a sandwich. I returned once more, hoping that my bad experience was just a fluke, but it was not to be. Service was again very poor, and while my Polish sausage was certainly edible and a unique opportunity to taste Chicago food in this area, it was not good enough to be worth the $ 8 price tag with some french fries from the grocery store. The dining room here is very small, and while the walls are covered in Chicago memorabilia somehow it doesn’t help distract the diner from the dingy location in a very old shopping plaza. The bottom line on Frankie Ds in Panama City(there is also a location on Panama City Beach) is that it is worth checking out once for the sole reason of trying some approximation of Chicago-style food in an area where this opportunity does not otherwise exist. Beyond this point, Frankie Ds is simply not worth the trouble or the cost.

I have tried this place twice now. The thin crust pizza is like cardboard with very few pieces of meat on it. The Italian Beef is just roast beef with no flavor and no green peppers or onions on it. I did like the small side salad served with the sandwich. Service was awful. It took 15 – 20 minutes to get a water & I never got it refilled. She never came back around to check on us or clean the table or pick up the checks. It took other people in our party 90 mins to get a deep dish pizza.

Changed location, still on Thomas Drive though. First off let me say that I was SOOOO excited to see a Chicago restaurant in the area. We’ve tried getting food from there multiple occasions and they pretty much were all terrible experiences. 1. We called at 9:00 and they basically told us to order from them a different night because their delivery guy already went home. 2. Went in for Chicago style hot dogs– buns were rock hard and the waitress/manager were arguing the entire time in front of us. Not professional at all. 3. Chicago Cubs Home Opener and they weren’t even open. We are going to give it one more chance just because we haven’t even had an opportunity to try the pizza. I hope it’s worth it!

Superb Chicago style pizza in a relaxed old tavern setting with a bar, booths and tables. Reasonable prices with downright cheap half price pizza on Wednesday evenings. Happy hour runs 3 to 6 pm on Monday thru Friday. Extensive Chicago Italian menu. Excellent and friendly service. Parking is plentiful.
